Welcome back to Cottonmouth!

There’s something very special about the house Maggie grew up in. It’s sort of...alive. With a mind of its own.

And it has plans for the people living there now.

All Maggie Halliday has left after the divorce is the family dog and the home her grandmother left to her when she passed away two months ago. Maggie’s got no other choice but to run back to her hometown of Cottonmouth, California, only to discover her high school sweetheart, Cooper Trubek, is living in the house, along with four other boarders for whom Maggie is now responsible. And according to Nana’s will, Maggie can’t kick any of them out.

Unless one of them commits murder.

Still grieving for her grandmother and trying fix up the house that seems to be falling down around her, Maggie’s got more trouble than she can handle. Then things go from bad to worse when Samson the dog starts digging in the basement…

“Can’t Forget You” is a contemporary romance of approximately 65,000 words.

The book contains the following bonus

Excerpts from “Baby, I’ll Find You”, plus “Double the Pleasure” and “Wives & Neighbors” by Jasmine Haynes.

Read this expecting a breezy cheerful story, led by an engaging couple of lead characters, and a house with a mind of its own. There's a large cast of secondary characters (maybe I wasn't concentrating enough, but I did find myself saying "um..who's that, again?") and a fairly silly plot.

I like Jennifer Skully's books, though - in spite of the silly plots, the slight lack of focus on the (supposedly) main relationships, they bowl along energetically and make me chuckle occasionally.

Maggie inherits a house with boarders after her grandmother dies, and her dog finds bones in the basement

What I enjoyed:
* The house was intriguing as it was sentient and moved the plot forward.
* Samson the dog was great and I loved the glimpses of what he thought.

What could have been better:
* Maggie was a doormat but she is pushing 40 and seems to have never made a decision or stood up for herself (or her daughter).
* Cooper isn't much better. Because Maggie didn't run away with him to Hollywood at 18, he refuses to tell her he is a successful author - she must want him thinking his life sucks - what a jerk
* Grandma made all bad decisions

Of the three Cottonmouth Series I liked this one the most. I enjoyed the mystery the most. You were never real sure who did what till the end. Jennifer Skully kept me guessing which is pretty good, I usually figure things out pretty early. There were some unbelievable parts to the story, but it kept me entertained. In my opinion this was the best of the Cottonmouth Series.

Cute story overall

This book was refreshing. It had different parts to it, and it also kept me guessing as to the identity of the culprit. I live in San Luis Obispo, so that added a little something.

Sorry but I could not get immersed into this story. Too wordy, no immediate captive story. Couldn't pick up the main theme/story. I read a lot of books and can quickly decide if I want to spend precious time trying to find interest. In the end I abondoned it.

Terrific combo of romance and mystery with a supernatural twist. It's a second chance romance rolled in with some unnatural happenings and secrets that are buried within a house. I enjoyed this as much as I did She's Gotta Be Mine, book 1, but it is quite different than that, and I loved that Bobbie and Nick had some small scenes in this one as did Brax from book 2.

Maggie returns to Cottonmouth and her late grandmother's house to deal with people who are now her boarders. Then there is the lovable pooch, Samson, whose digging is about to uncover some secrets. Who is telling the truth, and what did Maggie's grandmother know? There is the quirky cast of characters that have their own issues/secrets, including Cooper. He's the ex-boyfriend of Maggie who returned from his Hollywood dreams penniless and working as a high school security guard. Even he has a secret.

I enjoyed that all of the secrets were revealed by the end, and there were more than I suspected. There were a couple of unexpected twists that caught me off guard. At the center of the story was the relationship between Maggie and Cooper. I really wanted them to find their way back to each other. And there were a few erotic scenes, just enough to add spice to the story.

"Coming home was supposed to make her feel safe, yet she was very, very afraid of what was hiding down in the basement. and the person who put it there."

This is a standalone, so you can read this one first or read them in order. I look forward to more in this terrific erotic romance mystery series. I highly recommend this one!

Rather different from the author's other books. If you are into mysteries with a bit of paranormal and humour, then this will work you. If are looking for the author's usual style with sizzle in them then this is lacking in that aspect.

I enjoyed this book more, the second time around . The house was a little beyond belief. Cooper and Maggie needed each other and it was nice to get a glimpse of the other Cotton mouth couples .
