Mass Sins

“You just preached on that altar to about a hundred people.”
“I sure did. And now I want to f*** you on it.”

I thought surviving cancer twice would be the hardest thing I’d ever face. Then came my ex who broke me, leaving scars deeper than the disease ever could. Now, my faith is in ruins, and I’m searching for answers.

I didn’t expect to meet Father Joska at a party of all places, or to feel so drawn to him. He’s a priest with a sense of humor, sinful secrets, and eyes that seem to see straight through me.

As our connection deepens, I’m caught between the love I never expected and the faith I’m unsure I can reclaim.

MEEEEH!!!!

Para ser un libro taboo fue bastante meh, pensé que sería un romance más prohibido, secret pero no, todos sabían de los gustos del sacerdote y de su relación.

This storyline was interesting, and I enjoyed it. The story is unlike some of Seven Rue's other books. Just as a note, it has steam, but not as much as she usually writes about because this one has a backstory to follow. This book is part of the Sin Series. It has wonderful and engaging characters to follow, it has steam, and it is witty and fun.

Below is the book quote I got from the book:
“No, I’m supposed to listen and give advice. What you do with that advice is up to you. I can’t force you to believe in him the way you had when you were younger, just like I can’t force anyone else to believe in my God when they already made up their minds.”

Honestly it was exactly what I was looking for:
Short (less than 200 pages so it reads like a novella), steamy, taboo (mmc is a priest 👀), and a big age gap (20yrs).

⭐️: 4.5
There were a couple grammatical errors that made me reread but they didn't bother me much

I wanted to read something scandalous as a palate cleanser but this book was just unrealistic and not even half as interesting.

This book is about a mysterious older priest who's got a lot of secrets and a younger woman who's really drawn to him despite her non-belief in religion. It's all about that forbidden attraction and the complications that come with it including religion, sex, family and their age gap.

THIS IS NOT SPOILER FREE

Heartfelt, steamy and quick

I love seven rue!! This is obviously her more tamed books but I love the quick plot and it just flows nicely.

This was a sweet, sinful story, definitely different from Sin's books but just as good.

* Age Gap (20 + years)
* Priest
* Instalove
* R Rated in a church

A woman who lost her faith looks to a Priest, who is anything but holy, to help find her way back. This is a spin-off of sorts from the Sin series, but you do not need to be familiar with those books to follow this one. Joska, the Priest did make an appearance in that series though, so you may be familiar with him if you've read them. There is some sacrilege on the pages and talk about God and the church. This is also an age gap (about 20 years.) If you know anything about this author, you know it can get a bit dirty. ;) And of course the whole taboo element. While it does have that spice, it's actually only a small portion of the actual story/book. There's a lot more in the tension, leading to that point. Surprisingly, this is actually one of the 'tamer' books from this author, despite the whole Priest/Church thing. His characters dark side is hinted at throughout, and she's been warned about him, (not really knowing the truth of his past actions,) but she's at a point in her life that she wants to go there with him. They have an almost instant attraction, but knowing how vulnerable she is, he lets her set the pace and never pressures her to do or say more than she's comfortable with. Due to the sexual content, this is intended for mature readers. It alternates POVs, but a majority is taken from hers.

I've read some books by Seven Rue, and I always find them interesting. Her style is simple but enjoyable. This novella was not the exception. The story is intense, h0t, even emotional at times. I love they way she intertwines difficult topics, such as religion, faith, doubt, sickness, and the things that really matter above all. That said, this is NOT a book for everyone. Check the list of TW's. If you have no problem and take it for what it is, I'm sure you'll find it entertaining and wonderful, just like I did. From my perspective, it's a 5-star story!!

I liked the main characters a lot but I felt this moved too slow for me at times, and all the errors throughout kept ripping me from the story. This one could definitely benefit from some proofreading and editing.

Eehh

While mass sins was good it my favorite book of hers. I hate comparing other sithos but Priest by Sierra Simone still has my top spot for religious taboo .
