Can he teach an emotionally scarred woman that she’s loved for who she is, not who she thinks she should be?
At the age of twenty-one, Raelyn Andrews is already no stranger to how cruel the world can be to those who are different. Even those meant to love a person, no matter what, are not guaranteed to love someone with certain quirks. It’s much safer to bury her differences, hide them away and not let anyone too close.
Emmett Benson has watched the caregiver at his grandmother’s nursing home for a while now. She calls to the Daddy in him in ways he’s never experienced. He’s waited patiently for the perfect opportunity to talk to her. Now, he’s done waiting. It’s time to let Raelyn know what he’s known from the first moment he saw her. She’s his.
Raelyn’s past has left her with insecurities, though, and she struggles with Sensory Processing Disorder and Anxiety. Emmett is determined that, through constant support and encouragement, he’ll show her that the things her past has conditioned her to hate about herself are the things he loves most about her.
This book contains strong themes of Age Play. Age Play is a power exchange dynamic and falls under the BDSM umbrella. Though the characters in this story are over the age of 18, this book may contain things such as stuffies, pacifiers, and discipline. If this bothers you, please skip this story.
Hadley Reid is an author who aims to write heartfelt romance stories with a dash of kink. Her books are known for their strong, protective heroes and sweet, independent heroines who embrace their unique relationships.
When not writing, Hadley can be found with her nose in a book or spending time with her rambunctious dogs and sweet but sassy cat.
This was the first book like this that I have read. I was so very pleasantly surprised. The consent, love, security, and safety portrayed in this story are what make it so beautiful. I loved the characters and their growth together. Can’t wait for more stories!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the early reader process! It is an honor.
I’m going to start by saying this is not a genre I usually read, however this book was so cute and such a feel good book. Hadley truly did an amazing job at portraying the reality of a DDLG relationship, this had no spice but honestly didn’t need it because it was such an adorable story. I really think anyone would enjoy this book even if it isn’t a genre you typically read. Highly recommend for everyone to give it a try, I really do think you will all enjoy the adorable love story. I can’t wait for book 2
"Daddy’s Little Duckling" by Hadley Reid is a perfect feel-good read for any mood. I was enthralled from page one and read it in one sitting! The characters portrayed a true DDLG relationship that could be relatable to anyone in or interested in the dynamic. The growth and understanding in each character were great, but the growth together was even better! I can’t wait for book two!
I liked the book because it was a good representation for a dd/lg relationship with age play! I took one star off because if you’re looking for spice there isn’t any! I like books with lots of spice!!! I don’t think I’ll read the others in the series!
If you're looking for a DD/lg story but don't want the "spice", this is the book for you. As someone who has always loved all the gritty and intimate details of sexy scenes, this was a refreshing breath of air. Yes, it's DD/lg but the story is so good and so well written that I honestly didn't miss the sexy scenes. Raelyn has had a very hard life and is just doing what she needs to survive. She works at a nursing home and at a diner, but the nursing home is where she meets Emmett, who's grandma is there because of dementia. This sort of gut punched me as in my personal life, I'm a caretaker from my mom who has vascular dementia. Ms. Reid got it all right and I seriously read this story in a couple of hours. It's so sweet, so cute and I loved it so, so much! The side characters, Miles and Olivia, were wonderful and I'm eagerly waiting to see if they get their story told. *fingers crossed* I will highly recommend this book, and I will be adding it to my library if it ever comes out in print! Run and get this, I promise you won't be disappointed!
I was honestly surprised to find the author is new- the book is very well written - the story flows at a good pace, not a lot of superfluous description, editing and grammar were good. As for the story itself, on a scale of light to dark, it is definitely on the light side - it is a DD/lg relationship so there is a hint of things that happen but nothing explicit. I am eagerly waiting for the next book by this author.
I knew the author was new to me, but then found that she is a new author. It’s a nice story, but could benefit from some more editing. There are places where the tenses don’t agree. And the term “red behavior” kept popping up. Not sure if red should have been bad, or if this is new terminology signaling that a certain part of the anatomy is about to get turned red!
This is my first book by Hadley Reid and I can't wait for the next one! Raelyn is a Little with Sensory Processing Disorder and has had some pretty hard knocks in life. Emmett rocks and he is the most patient, understanding Daddy ever. This is a sweet, feel good book and one I couldn't put down and read it all in one sitting.
What a beautiful sweet story. It has emotion, trust, and love. Raelyn and Emmett are the perfect fit in this DD/lg. Beautifully written with explained issues that Emmett looked after and showed her she is perfection just the way she is. I loved Raelyn's character she was strong and I loved how she showed her true self.
The main characters were very sweet and caring, but the constant switch between 1st and 3rd person really interferes with the flow of the story. Raelynn has a backstory that has contributed to her esteem issues, but nowhere do the characters have a discussion about it. Could have been a better book.
Absolutely loved this story..Her knowledge of spd was wonderful. Raelyn much like my son had clothes and food sensitivitys. Emmett was wonderful if letting her know she didn't have to be anyone but herself. I now have a new author to watch for. Simply perfection. A++

Rae is a Little who has always been on her own. Emmit knows immediately Rae is his Little girl. These two work together to find the way their dynamic works for them. This cute book is full of new beginnings and love. Can't wait to read book 2.
Emmitt and his Little Duckling! Such a short and sweet read! Loved it! Would have been a five star if it had more depth to it! I love the DD/lg aspect but it was missing the adult components and 🌶️! I’m ready for Miles though!
Less than a hour read. Simple (a bit simplistic even) & cute age play story, with no spice. I have my doubts about being a caregiver while suffering from the affliction the heroine has but, oh well. It's harmless fiction.
I like the concept and the characters but no sex and some second person references I won’t be reading anymore I’m sorry I really wanted to love this more like I said rewrite it add more passion and kink and it will be much better just to stiff no pun intended
It's a really cute story, with a lot of potential. However, it's in desperate need of editing. She needs some good honest beta readers, who can help her shore up her weaknesses. I look forward to more of her stories.
Very nice job on a first book! Very sweet and refreshing with no spice. I was skeptical, but still very impressed! I am looking forward to the next one!
Great story relaxing good break loved the story but needed more events when she told him about her parents and ex waited for his reaction which doesn't come and it disappointed me
This was a cute little 😉 read with lots of giggles and tenderness. There was absolutely no smut and I liked that it focused more on their care than lust.

This story was cute. So cute. But the writing felt like reading a story written by a teen. The errors were numerous. The switching tenses drove me nuts. It had the elements of a cute story. For a kinky story it was much lacking in the spice department. I understand how controversial that can be, but these are grown adults. Where is the adult part of their relationship? Overall it was fun and entertaining and i plan to read more from this author with the hope that the editing improves. One part i really appreciated was the explanation of her sensory issues and eating disorder. I loved that he researched and learned how to best accommodate her, rather than forcing the issue.
