From The Last Days of Darkness Through The First Day of Light is a fictional account of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday, based principally upon the Gospel of Saint John. It attempts to put the reader in the shoes of Saint John the apostle as the events of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus were actually unfolding. Hopefully, it gives the reader a sense of what Saint John and the other apostles were experiencing as the events of those days were occurring. It describes the likely confusion and fear that they felt. It also highlights the terrible Passion which Jesus suffered for all of us. It is the authors' hope and prayer that this book will bring each reader closer to Jesus.
Be prepared to stand at the foot of the Cross, looking up at Jesus with a deeper appreciation of what He has done for us. In the same vein of The Chosen, it is comforting to imagine the disciples as people just like us, who we may even be friends with, and who Jesus was friends with, too. Be sure to read the endnotes along with the story - they will make you appreciate the story even more!
