Six sunrises. Six sunsets.
Six days. That’s how long October Winters has to collect and deliver a thousand souls.
After a year on the run, Lucifer’s right-hand-witch finds herself knee-deep in the tawdry trenches of Hollywood, seeking refuge in the neon-lit chaos to escape the consequences of her actions. With monsters lurking around every corner, October finds herself in a high-stakes race against time. As the deadline looms, her past comes crashing back in the form of Declan Lovejoy, a demon hunter who is as formidable as he is handsome. In a city where danger and desire intertwine, October faces the battle of a millennium to save her soul. Will she manage to outwit the Devil and reclaim her life, or will her forbidden love be her undoing?

“𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘐 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭.”

If you’ve ever wanted a main character who will crush you under her stiletto and you’ll thank her for the pleasure, October Winters is your gal. FINALLY, a main character who talks to men the same way I do at bars 💀

“𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘴𝘺 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘶𝘱 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴. 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘴𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘢𝘱.”

Okay real talk. This book is fun. Like REALLY fun. But it also has so much depth beneath the upbeat sass and banter. This book is for the unique, strong girls who walked through fire and fought like hell to get here, in spite of anyone who tried to hold them down and force them into a mold. We love a woman who knows her worth and isn’t about to let anyone tell her who to be.

“𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘰 𝘧𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥.”

This book played through my head like a movie while I read- my new favourite movie. Nikkita’s writing style is fun, but also bleeds a deeper authenticity beyond the biting wit and snappy characters.

NOW, THE MUSIC! This book is, itself, a playlist! With chapters (or tracks) named after kickass songs 🤘It’s a book that scores itself!

So if you’ve ever wanted a story with:

🔥 Demons & Demon Hunters
🔥 Witches
🔥 Badass Characters
🔥 Neo-Noir Vibes
🔥 Dark Humor
🔥 Sass and Banter
🔥 Violence (we *are* talking demons after all)
🔥 “Do I want to BE her or be WITH her?”
🔥 MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC
🔥 Cemetery Fun
🔥 Urban Fantasy
🔥 Set in 2003 Los Angeles

Then this is the book for you! WELL WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

“𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘭. 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦.”

If you’re looking for a strong, witty, and wicked FMC who is unapologetically herself, then October Winters is your gal, and The Bombshell Devil’s Advocate is your book.

This book. This. BOOK!
What an absolutely WILD ride!
The dialogue is intelligent and entertaining.
The banter is exquisite.
The plot is sublimely serpentine.
Not to mention, the sexual tension still has me swooning.

Finally a female villain who refuses to explain herself or change her ways for anyone else. She’s truly a bombshell who ignites the world in chaotic fire wherever she goes; luscious, hilarious, and everything you want in a villain. Music is her bliss throughout her high stakes journey battling time, an ex lover working against her, and her conniving “brothers”. I am obsessed and oddly want to be her. Let’s Rise & Reap, my gal.

Nikkita Bell has exceeded at creating a glamorously gothic fantasy world, based in LA, with chilling events, badass characters, a storyline that keeps you guessing, and early 2000s nostalgia. Even the most minute details rock: Tracks for Chapters, a Blockbuster cameo, incredible illustrations, a scorpion familiar, second (or third or fourth or hundredth) chance lovers, a magically possessed Camero,
and an entire demonic hierarchy.

I implore you to get this book and divulge in this wild ride!

Some of my favorite spoiler free quotes:

“For I am the darkness. I revel in it. Serve it. Just as I have for nearly a thousand years. I don’t fight the evils of the world—I embrace f***ing embrace them. I am the Devil’s Second, a long shadow cast across a wasteland of lost souls and broken dreams.”

“Every lyric, every riff, seems to quell the tempest that has been gripping my mind…”

“I read him like an open book, one with a cracked spine and worn pages—pages I yearn to stroke again.”

“Protection? Please. The mere suggestion dries me up faster than the Death Valley in July.”

“I’m officially in deeper s*** than Hellspawn in a holy water hot tub.”

“Who needs email when you have blood sacrifice?”

“Each panicked heartbeat calls to me, a siren song of vulnerability.”

“Hell can have me when it earns me.”

“‘My kind?’ I scoff. ‘Bad ass bitches with a great sense of humor?’”

"I've had the privilege of witnessing the rise and fall of empires, the discovery of new worlds and the genius invention of the pet rock"

This book is amazing! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who enjoys witty, complex, bad ass, femme fatale main characters.

October Winters, the devils right hand woman, gets a visit from the big man downstairs. Lucifer finds her to give her an ultimatum. Collect 1000 souls, one for every year He's given her, in 6 days. This is the kind of task you're given when you decide to take a year off without letting the boss know.

She may "work" for the Devil but that doesn't mean she can just go around reaping souls, she has to be discreet and be careful to not only keep her magic a secret but also to not draw the attention to any Nephilims, the angel/human hybrids that fight for the man upstairs. They just complicate things and the less trouble she has to deal with the better off she is. To bad trouble seems to follow October like a shadow.

As the clock ticks she will have to enlist help from a Demon, Angel and one of daddies dear sons. Surely that wont bite her in the ass later.

This book made me feel so many things while reading; giddiness, sadness, heat, loathing, anger and curiosity. It is such a fun read, where you are rooting for "evil" the entire time... at least I was. I am so excited for more October adventures to come. This book I now firmly and permanently placed on my favourites shelf forever.

This book has the following:
Bad ass FMC with an adorable scorpion familiar
Demons and Angels
The Devil (Daddy) Himself
Some dark Magic
The battle between heaven and hell
lust and loathing
an ending that will leave you wanting more in the best way possible

🦂ARC REVIEW🦂

This book is now my entire personality. Sorry not sorry.

October Winter is simultaneously the kind of gal I would desperately want to talk to at the bar and would want to steal her look but I wouldn’t because she and her look are far too cool for me. She is unapologetically 100% that b*tch. *Swoon* amirite?

Anyway.

I knew I was going to be into it by the cover alone, and then to learn Nikkita illustrated it herself???? Say 👏🏾 less 👏🏾 I can’t wait to get my grubby paws on a physical copy to see the graphic novel pieces!

This was a wild ride and I didn’t want it to end. The chapters are a tracklist that builds a perfect playlist for the book. (Look. I’m a simple person, I saw Dr. Feelgood and was immediately on board). We’ve got demons (so many demons and some that are 👀👀👀) and angels with their eternal war, and our dear October who is just trying to remain immortal and without seeing her boss. Which Mood™️

Thank you so much to Nikkita Bell for this ARC, and humoring my tags & DMs. This was incredible and I can’t wait to see what happens next in October’s story and her gorgeous scorpion ring 😉

The Bombshell Devil’s Advocate by Nikkita Bell is everything I love in a dark, gritty, and punk-infused paranormal story. This story burst into my life unapologetically, and I couldn’t help but inhale every word—it lives inside my lungs now. The story follows October Winters, Lucifer’s right-hand witch, as she navigates the neon-lit chaos of Hollywood while trying to collect souls to stave off the Devil’s claim on her mortality. With a ticking clock to clear her debt, October’s mission is as urgent as it is practically impossible.

For me, this book feels like it was written specifically for me - and I guess other fans of forbidden romance and edgy supernatural tales. October is the femme fatale of the story—tough, unapologetically morally black, and harboring both secrets and baggage. Her relationship with Lovejoy, her longtime love interest and secret adversary (his Nephilim nature makes her an enemy to him, though he remains blissfully unaware), is the beating heart of the story. Their history is rich with hidden conflict, and the subtle moments of vulnerability between them are utterly intoxicating. They're so wrong for one another, but it feels so right.

Beyond the sizzling romance, Bell’s world-building is phenomenal. The setting is gritty, dark, and detailed—a place where danger and desire intertwine on every corner. The supporting cast adds depth and flavor to October’s world, and the tension is high throughout. A huge bonus is the physical copy’s comic-like illustrations, which are nothing short of incredible—they add an extra layer of personality to this already punk and offbeat narrative.

In short, The Bombshell Devil’s Advocate is everything I’ve been waiting for in a dark romance. I give it one million stars, and I can’t wait to see more of October and her world. If you’re into edgy, character-rich stories, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy.

Thanks so much to the lovely author and R&R Booktours for the opportunity to read and review. This review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.

✨️ ARC Review ✨️

They say don't judge a book by its cover. But when I saw this cover a few months ago – I just KNEW. I KNEW I was going to love it and need to own it. And I was fxck!ng RIGHT!

Think Constantine x Buffy the Vampire Slayer x Chilling Adventures of Sabrina vibes 🔥🤘🪦🎸🦂

I could not love October Winters more. Wow. Why haven’t I read a witch book in a while?! She’s the Devil’s Second – and the immortal morally gray villain of our story - but we start with her on the run from him for something she did a year ago. He eventually catches up to her and tells her she can make it right by delivering 1000 souls to him in six days (which will be her 1000th birthday). Obviously, along the way, we run into the Primes (the Devil’s 13 sons), their underlings and lesser demons, demon hunters (half angel, half human), etc. And how could I forget – her scorpion familiar! 🦂

There’s a bit of romance in there but it’s the plot that kept me hooked. This was just FUN. Truly a good time. Also, the setting of 2003 Hollywood and the namedrops of Blockbuster and things of that era made my little 90s baby heart so happy. And the music! The chapter titles made for a wonderful score throughout. This book was such a fkn vibe! 🙌🏼🤙🏼

And if you didn’t know, it’s a hybrid graphic novel drawn by Nikkita herself! Absolutely cannot wait to see the illustrations when the book comes out! I need to hold this in my hands ahhhhh! 🖤🔥

I could keep going if you want? Read this – you won’t be sorry! Out February 6th! ❤️‍🔥
Thank you @nikkitabell for gifting me with this ARC! 🫶🏼

Let me preface with this: I’m not the girl who reads this kind of stuff. I’m typically a happily ever after kinda girl. You always know how it ends before you start. This was out of my comfort zone and I’m SOOOOO glad I picked it up.

October Winters, the Devils right hand, has 6 days to gather 1000 souls or forfeit her immortality. Along the way we meet angels and demons, dance with The Devil, light the world on fire, dabble in dark magic, that’s barely scratching the surface.

This book was dark and mysterious, sexy, adventurous, and just so much fun! I fell in love with scorpions and looked forward to encounters with demons! Every page had me begging for what’s next and I found myself up at 2am saying “ok, one more chapter” more than once. With every chapter also the song on an unbelievable playlist, you’ll be kicking down doors and gaining the courage to be the ultimate badass in no time.

The world that’s built here is really unlike no other and it was so much fun to travel to LA 2003 and visit blockbuster again.

Pick this up. Read this book. You won’t be disappointed!

If the movies Sin City and Constantine had a baby with The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, it would be this book!

Having each chapter start with an amazing comic graphic and be titled as a playlist was so original and innovative.

This story is action packed and October Winters is the perfect bad ass FMC.

The Bombshell Devil's Advocate is the perfect example of how you can take a small idea, or in this case, a novella, and completely turn it upside down and present it in a new way.

Going into this as a fan of the original novella, I knew the story would be along the same lines, BUT I WAS STILL GASPING AND HANGING ON TO EVERY PAGE!

Somehow, Nikkita was able to make this feel like a brand new story and expand it into an entire grungy world. She took the best parts and made them even better. The undercity LA vibes are immaculate (the story starts with October digging a grave in high heels with a cigarette hanging from her lips). The characters are well rounded and interesting. Even the characters I hate, I am invested in! The banter is top tier. The spice was spicy, but not too much and progressed the story. I have never wanted to go to a dive bar or motel in downtown LA, but somehow Bad Decisions feels like home.

October Winters is the badass, don't give a damn alter ego I wish I had the guts to be.
Lucifer gives Luc from Addie LaRue, but so much better!
Reagan is the best friend I want.
Lovejoy I hate, but only because he is the perfect embodiment of all my exes.
Jimmothy (IYKYK), I didn't care if he died, but then he absolutely surprised me by the end and I'm excited to see what happens to him in the future.

AND I HAVENT EVEN MENTIONED THE ART YET!!!

First of all, having the idea to have comics as your chapter title pages is so much fun and unique! But add on the fact that Nikkita is the artist and you have have a one of a kind reading experience. How Nikkita was able to pick out the best parts of each chapter and then bring them to life in her artwork is so incredibly unbelievable and I am in awe of her talent.

I am so excited to see where the story goes from here and to watch this world continue to expand.

Some of my favorite spoiler free quotes:
"Good year for me, bad year for the stock market."
"I may be a lazy bitch, but I'm not a sloppy one."
"I find myself face to face with the first person who may actually understand what it's like to be me. If only she wasn't a fucking demon. Blegh."
"You're a fountain of darkness, just waiting to overflow."
"If this is his idea of seduction, he has another thing coming - and it isn't me."
"The summoning circle comes first. Then, a pentagram in the center, because nothing says 'welcome to Hollywood' like a star on the ground."
"I'm sorry, I was temporarily possessed by the spirit of not giving a fuck."

The Bombshell Devil’s Advocate by Nikkita Bell is a fun, fast-paced ride through the Hellscape that is the early 2000s Hollywood.

October Winters is a witch who was granted eternal life by the Devil almost 1000 years ago. Over the millennia she has built the reputation of being a soul-sacrificing hellion who will stop at nothing to do what is best for her. But here’s the thing; it’s not just a reputation. October embraces her self-serving nature and relishes being The Devil’s Second.

TBDA is a noir style narrative reminiscent of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and True Blood. The protagonist is a villain who ingratiates herself into your heart and has you cheering for her survival no matter who she has to k!ll in order to stay alive. Oh and don’t be surprised if you end up loving our little Nero by the end, too. 🦂

HAPPY PUB DAY TO THIS BAD BITCH AND HER DEBUT!

She’s The Devil’s Second, her job is reap souls and wreak havoc…

🦂🔥 The Bombshell Devil’s Advocate by Nikkita Bell 🔥🦂
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Who needs email when you have blood sacrifice?”

Someone has just slotted themselves into my top five reads for the year. This has been, by far my favorite ARC read, probably ever. October Winters is 100% that b***h, she does not f**k around, is feisty as hell and can put up one hell of a fight. She’s is such a force to be reckoned with that even the demons are afraid of her. Enter Declan Lovejoy, the hauntingly handsome Demon Hunting Angel. Declan and October have been in a twisted tango of forbidden love for almost a century. Despite the odds, they cannot get enough of each other.

When The Devil, himself, gives October the ultimatum of collecting 1,000 souls or receiving sudden death, on her birthday of all days, we go along for the ride of October’s journey of reaping, debauchery and seduction across Los Angeles. This book has so many vibes, and its absolutely delicious. I gobbled it UP, babe. Set in the late 90s, early 2000s Los Angeles/Hollywood area with heavy metal and the goth scene at the forefront, October Winters is going to get her rocks off, whether it be on the pole, pissing off demons and hunters, or wreaking havoc across the city. Nero, her scorpion familiar, deserves his own special moment—for never uttering a single world but still being able to crawl his way into my heart and soul. In addition to the darkness and horror of it all, there is so much good comedy that I found myself laughing, giggling, kicking my feet and just purely cackling like the witch I am. Nikkita Bell is building the world, dropping the lore and making it hot. Its very apparent that the author is a visual artist because Every. Single. Scene. Came to life my mind. It’s almost like she put the visuals in my head via direct implant. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series. Thank you, Nikkita, for this ARC! You have a gift.

“I’ve survived lifetimes; acquaintances have come and gone, never quite crossing the threshold into true friendship, and lovers? Well, they've all fallen prey to my soul-collecting proclivities. All except one. Declan Lovejoy.”

“Careful, my little scorpion. You and I both know that in our world, ‘dead’ is a… flexible term.”

“Nothing saps a gal's energy quite like a wicked cocktail of road trips, espionage, demonic transactions, and sexcapades.”

“Ah, humans. Such fragile, pathetic creatures cursed to be my precious commodity. Their fear fills me like the electric currents from a heavy guitar riff, and their despair is a delicacy I can almost taste. Each panicked heartbeat calls to me, a siren song of vulnerability.”

Summary:
Six sunrises. Six sunsets.

After a year on the run, Lucifer’s right-hand-witch finds herself knee-deep in the tawdry trenches of Hollywood, seeking refuge in the neon-lit chaos to escape the consequences of her actions. This started out really strong for me and had my immediate interest. The concept is amazing and I love that the FMC is not a typical FMC. October Winters, was an unpredictable, self-serving character that was an enjoyable surprise to read. The additional side characters sprinkled in, were enjoyable as well. And of course, Lucifer , I am always looking forward to Authors' interpretation of him within their books. And I really liked how he was depicted in The Bombshell Devil's Advocate The Bombshell Devil's Advocate by Nikkita Bell .

🦂I love that a Scorpion played a big role in this story! I do not recall any books that I've read that feature this creature.🦂

I do strongly wonder why this was not made into a Graphic Novel/Comic though. I think that the art and the style of writing would have complimented a Graphic Novel a bit more perfectly in my honest opinion.

Some issues that I personally had, that I hope to see improved on with the next installment:

*Lack of world building.
I would have loved to have had an introduction page that briefly explained the world parameters (Do's & Don'ts). I felt that I had a brief understanding of the world, until it got to the demons appearing...I was wondering if it was just the FMC (being a witch) who had the sight and because of her powers was able to see demons? Or if the world was aware of the supernatural/demonic...I needed clarification and a better understanding.

*Overuse of certain words and descriptions.
Certain words like "smirk" and "cursed" were heavily used where not necessary. Also, I happen to find that a characters description, whether physical or an appearance description, can be beneficial when inserted at the beginning of that introduction of the character/beginning of a scene. There were instances where a chapter had begun, and well into it there were overly detailed descriptions of a characters clothing, or body, that seemed unnecessary at that point. Also, nicknames....they were quite plentiful and I personally felt some could have been edited out.

*Contradictions.
There were unfortunately too many contradictions for me to not stop each time and make a note of it. Things like October's knowledge of something. For example, in one chapter she wouldn't know the appearance of ____, only for the ending of the book she was unsurprised at this appearance that she had pondered about prior? Eye color of a character being "Olive Green" to only be described as "Brown" two pages later....

*Plot Development/Focus.
I do think that the first half of the book had set me up for certain expectations and the second half didn't really fit nicely with those expectations. This is where I think if this were a Graphic Novel, that the almost disconnected scenes would work in the Author's favor since there are panels and not a strong need for super smooth transitions. And the ending didn't quite make sense for me unfortunately.

Overall, I truly did enjoy this story, but it was not without its flaws in execution. I admire the vision with this world that Nikkita Bell has taken a chance on and I think with some early feedback from an Alpha/Beta Reader she could elevate the next novel in this series! I will still be silently hoping for a possible SE Graphic Novel, the beautiful art style that Nikkita displays really carves out the personality of her characters/world. And I had a ton of fun reading each panel displayed at the beginning of each chapter, I greedily want more! I am looking forward to Book Two and absolutely will be reading it to follow along with what will happen next!

Rise and reap, motherfuckers!

I've been part of my book club long enough to be known as the b- I mean, witch with the unforgiving eye and scathing reviews. And, well...

I am.
Hehe.

I READ CLOSE TO 1000 BOOKS. MY STANDARDS ARE THROUGH THE ROOF.

Anyway. Bottom line is I didn't hate this one.

*Cheers and applause*

But I have some criticism.

*Booooooo!*

In no particular order:

- The story does not seem to have a clear structure. I'm not sure how to explain it clearly, but story beats very often felt all over the place.

- Inconsistencies, namely when it came to the main protagonist and her flip-flopping stances.

- Most fights end too easily and there seems to be no – or little – at stake, as our protagonist never feels in real danger.

- October is fun, but also quite unlikeable – which is the purpose, to an extent? I mostly had a problem with her juvenile behavior. Ma'am, you're 1000 years old!!!!

- Character work is rather weak, as I did not much care about... anybody. Characters die and I chuckle. Every time.

- Jimothy... whoops, Jeremiah? SORRY, I meant Jeremy! I feel like he could've done a bit more in this book as opposed to being pure set up for the next.

- Part of the structural issue: side quests take over the main quest. Octooobeeeerrrrr, 1000 souls to reap, please FOCUS. WHY YOU DRIVING (AND LITERALLY FUCKING) AROUND FOR DAYS.

- Love triangle, hello?? Why. Just, WHY. That lady huntress (forgot her name) pissed me off even though she literally was just existing. And that's because we had souls to reap and we didn't need this plot point.

- October's powers are unclear: there seems to be little (no?) limitations to what she can do with her skill set. Although, the general consensus at book club was that this story didn't really need an extensive magic system, which I agree with. Just would've raised the stakes a bit in combat, in my opinion.

- One flashback out of two was unnecessary.

- At least one spicy scene should've been a fade to black.

- "Chocolate brown eyes" x578383 STOOOOPPPP T-T

- Fuck Nightmares and Fear, they're so annoying.

Now the stuff that I liked:

- The setting works really well.

- When October stops yapping about how "above everything" she is and actually acts like the selfish villain she's meant to be, it's delicious 🤌🏼

- October's and Declan's dynamic is interesting to watch evolve (and devolve).

- Sassy demons are my faves.

- I found the missing demon hunters side plot to be very intriguing and it could've driven the main one a bit more had it been used for that purpose.

- The prose and writing style are smooth and work very well for the genre.

- Nero. Dassit.

- Flashbacks are not always necessary, but I enjoyed the one with thirteen year old October.

- The ending rocks. I would've been utterly pissed had it been a happily ever after. I'M TRAUMATIZED AND I LOVE IT.

Bonuses:

- The book is illustrated by the author herself and the art is absolutely gorgeous. As an artist, I'm jealous!

- I love the playlist idea. Very good songs in there for each chapter.

To summarize: a couple more rounds of editing and restructuring the narrative would've taken care of my biggest issues with the book.
Ultimately, I think it was really fun. And although it's not usually the type of book I go for, I still enjoyed it, and that really tells you how much potential it has.

Good luck writing the sequels, author!
Raise the stakes, make me gasp, and keep delivering those "bad" endings.
Let's just hope the editing process goes better this time 🫶🏼

I feel like this book was made for me. As a former emo teen, to kick off a book with a chapter titled after a Rob Zombie song, I was immediately in love.

This book was so addicting, page after page I was living for the morally grey-ness of October Winters and her forbidden romance/quest for souls.

Also that ending … way to RIP MY HEART OUT and then SHOVE IT BACK IN. I need the next book in this series like I need air to breathe.

But seriously - please read this book if you enjoy the following:

- Supernatural
- Heavy metal
- A bad ass dgaf FMC
- Sinner/Saint aesthetics
- Full page chapter art…FOR EVERY CHAPTER
- Scorpions

This is such a cool series! I’m very excited to pick up the next one. It’s very film noir meets Buffy vibes.

I lived in Hollywood for a while and it was so fun to have very historic Hollywood landmarks as the background of the story.

I really enjoyed the comic style art in between chapters and it brought the characters to life.

"I read him like an open book, one with a cracked spine and worn pages—pages I yearn to stroke again.”

The Bombshell's Devil Advocate, the first in a series, is a gripping urban fantasy featuring dark witchy energy and deals with the DEVIL, and I am so here for it. A villian story? With all the feminine rage? YES. The writing is exquisite, the pacing well-thought, the aesthetic so grungy and badass, and the sass is unparalleled. October and Declan crushed me, the plot is so action-packed and high-stakes that I flewwwwwwwwww through the book. (Also villain stories like this one make me question my morals because at one hand I am like STOP YEETING PEOPLE on the other hand I'm like BE WITH DECLAN AND FIND HAPPINESS but we know neither of that is gonna happen)

The end absolutely DEMOLISHED MY SOUL and is SO UNPREDICTABLE that you will be left with a hellish void in your heart that won't be filled until you can get your hands on the sequel -- take my word for it.

Also have I already mentioned how talented Nikkita is? The book has such gorgeous illustrations and I recieved my signed copy with all these lovely stickers created by her, I LOVE her creativity to BITS.

That ending was evil. EVIL. And I want more.

A must read!!! Definitely dont sleep on this one.

I am absolutely obsessed with October Winters. She is so snarky and fierce. I loved her banter and the relationship between her and Declan!!! Their relationship is both complicated and beautiful.

October will unalive you with a smile on her face. "Toby Winties" is unapologetically herself.

PS: her familiar 😭

I need more from this series

"And Hell hath no fury like a resentful witch scorned."

WORD TO THE WISE: this isn't a fairytale where love conquers all and Good prevails. This is a book about corruption of the soul and the fall of the righteous. A cautionary tale about how love will elevate you only to destroy you. And how sometimes the only path to survival is evil.

Read if you like:
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Constantine vibes
- Work rivals to lovers to enemies
- Badass witch FMC
- Demon hunter MMC with a soft spot for a witch
- Morality VS. sin
- Women's wrongs
- Open doors spice
- Excruciatingly painful endings

My rating: 5 agonizing and torturous stars
My thoughts:

"His lightness dares to rehabilitate me, to save me."

If you're looking for a book where the FMC, in spite of all her wrongdoings, wickedness and evil actions, finds a reason to fight for a greater good and repents, THIS IS NOT IT.
However, if what you want is immaculate vibes, lots of blood, demons and angels, and a battle against the clock to ensure your survival, then you're in for a treat.

I was amongst the few fortunate to receive this masterpiece as an ARC and from the first page I could tell this was not gonna be my usual love story. What Nikkita has created here is not only an masterful ode to sin and corruption, but she's done it by giving the corrupt and sinful a voice and a medium to do so.

"He puts his trust in the very thing he hates. That makes two of us."

I honestly haven't felt this amount of tension, despair, anxiety and heartbreak because of ONE book in a very long time. Which means, of course, I'm delighted beyond words. I could read a thousand pages about October and Declan and still wouldn't be enough.
The writing style is fantastic, their chemistry is truly phenomenal, the dialogues and banter are out of this world, and their mutual love and loathing that keeps bringing them together throughout the years should be studied.

"I'd follow you forever, October Winters. To Hell and back, if that's what it would take."

Did I want to scream while reading it? Of course. Did I want to peel my skin off so I could feel a different kind of pain after that insane ending? You bet.
Would I recommend it, then? 100% and without an ounce of doubt.

Thank you Nikkita for the wild ride. I'll send you my therapy bills.

This book was an absolute fucking delight. Sorry not sorry for the profanity. It was so refreshing reading about a badass fmc who stands her ground and is unapologetically her. 🖤 #hallelujer An absolute wild ride and masterpiece. The pacing was perfect, and the characters were so relatable, especially October. We all wanna voice our inside thoughts and she absolutely does. She holds nothing back. I love her.

Can we talk about the gorgeous the artwork is in the book and how the chapters are labeled as tracks and song titles because that is deadass amazing. 🙌🏻 The nostalgia of this book was on point.

Overall, the story, the romance, the badassery, the vibes, the presentation, the artwork, the chapters labeled as tracks, the songs. Absolute banger of a book. I am so honored that I was able to get a PR package from @nikkitabell and @rrbooktours !

“The Bombshell Devil's Advocate “ 🦂💋
by Nikkita Bell

4⭐️
1🌶️

“There he is—my sweet, delicate demon hunter: a pillar of honor and virtue that turns to putty in my wicked hands.” 💋🦂~October Winters

I had so much fun reading this book! It was definitely giving off major “Supernatural , Buffy, and Constantine “ vibes!

With the morbid locations , like the Hollywood Cemetery with a secret underground club in a crypt!
And the 90’s/ 2000 nostalgia ( blockbuster, the awesome music)

MFC "October Winters" a bad as@ Witch who is debt to her boss “The Devil” to collect souls so she stay immortal.
MMC “Declan Lovejoy “ a Demon hunter and Toby’s love interest , who is slightly obsessed with her .
Loved their banter and the back and forth / tension between these two!

I so want to be the MFC "October " aka " Toby " as the Devil would call her and I love that her “partner in crime & familiar “ is a Scorpion 🦂 named “Nero “ 🥰🦂🤗
And that epilogue ! 🤯It really does peak my curiosity to read the next installment of this series!

Overall if you want to read a paranormal romance with an dark & twisted story I would recommend this book!

Thank you Nikkita Bell for the opportunity to arc read your awesome book!

Alright, buckle up.

First, the vibes of this book are Night Teeth (the movie) if it took place in the 90’s and had a badass female main character. Confused? I’ll explain:

October Winters, our main female character, is the most badass character I’ve met so far. She says the inside thoughts out loud and she has the ability to take care of business when things go south because she opened her mouth (and south the go often and intensely). The amount and types of scrapes she gets herself into makes this book such a mesmerizing read.

The pacing is perfect. It’s not too fast in that I never had to back track and re-read to figure out the action. I felt captivated, never overwhelmed.

The story and characters are compelling in that I felt all of the feelings, in the best way. There is levity in the heavy, silliness in the gruesome, reality in the romantic - you get the idea.

Just when you think you might finally have an idea of where the story is going, no you don’t. I did not predict the ending and I was pleasantly surprised by it!

I absolutely loved the style of the writing, the vibes, the characters, the settings - all of it. I will be highly recommending (and will not shut up about) this book to everyone I think would enjoy it even half as much as I do!

This book was amazing!

The FMC, October Winters,, Lucifer’s right hand, was tasked with collecting thousand souls in just six days. I loved how October was unapologetically herself in every situation, witty, strong and fierce, and she truly didn’t need anyone to save her.

This book was so fun! The plot was interesting and kept me hooked, the characters were well written and the writing made me feel like I was in the middle of the story with the characters. And the sexual tension between October and her demon hunter was delicious.

I can’t wait to read more!

Also, loved the illustrations at the beginning of every chapter!

“It’s easier to ignore your problems when you’ve been given eternal life, but immortality comes with a price, and the Devil has come to collect.”
“Chin up, tits up, as they say.”
“Time for a crash course in why you don’t fuck with the Devil’s right hand witch.”
“Me? Piss anyone off? Never.”
“Call me lazy. Call me a bitch. But you can’t deny I’m one hell of a witch.”

✨ 4.5
🌶️ 1 (on my scale)

This was a really fun read, everything dark and supernatural. Demons ☑️ Demon hunters ☑️ Witches ☑️ THE DEVIL ☑️ - all the side characters were on point along with the MCs.

You are left wondering what’s going to happen next with October… I’m rooting for her and BIG D to have more hot moments as well as others 👀

October Winters is a bad*ss fire starter who is on mission to collect souls for her boss, her plans get ruined when an old flame wants to dance again. Things get messy and rules get broken… the plot is really good. I NEED to know what’s going to happen next! 🤍

Top notch banter runs throughout this book, so many witty lines perfectly executed! Then playlist too 😍

Thank you so much Nikkita for sending me the ARC 🤍 I can’t wait to see all your amazing illustrations in the physical book!😍

The nostalgia.
The darkness.
The vibes.

If you are a 90s baby, do NOT let The Bombshell Devil's Advocate die in your TBR graveyard.

With a strong female main character who embodies the bit of villain we all have inside of us, this book had me hooked from the beginning. I could see the scenes playing out in my head like a movie thanks to the incredible descriptions that added so much to the dark Hollywood vibe of the storyline.

October Winters somehow makes being the devil’s right hand dark witch seem like a desirable destiny to have. Between the sarcasm, banter, and nostalgic references this was the most fun I've had reading in a long time.

With just enough mystery and remaining unanswered questions, I'm left aching for more in this series!

Started off really really strong. I was immediately hooked.

But… After reading so many times about how much of a badass October is, how wicked her ways are, and how frightful her glorious reign of 999 years of terror has been… we never see it in action. We’re reminded constantly that she’s The Devil’s Second yet she gets overwhelmed by demons frequently, and mass murder scenes are glazed over. She just walks out of a ballroom after doing the deed. So much telling instead of showing, and it was disappointing.

I liked her push-pull with Declan, but I didn’t like the ending.

Nero was really cool and original, and so were the descriptions of various demons, especially Lucifer.

Overall it was entertaining but not enough character depth for me.
