How to Not Suck as a Christian

Rate this book
Jeremy Steele knows what it means to suck as a Christian-because he's an expert. How to Not Suck as a Christian takes an unflinching look at the ways Christians often miss the mark, from misusing scripture and manipulating others to failing at basic empathy. With chapters like Be Pro-Choice Because God Is and Stop the Homophobia, this book isn't afraid to tackle the controversial issues that make the more fundamentalist Christians squirm.

FAIR This book is as likely to provoke laughter as it is discomfort. But don't worry, discomfort is where the good stuff starts.

I bought this book because the author is coming to town to discuss the book. I found it to be very informative and eye opening. In life there are many times we are told something and we believe it because we trust the people who are giving us that information. But, what if it turns out those people were wrong? This books gives detailed and research supported reasons and explanations that go against many of the arguments we hear in today's society. It was also nice to have someone in a position of authority be on the same side you are on, especially when the opposing voices are so loud.

This book was amazing. It is a down to earth guide to unpacking the really bad and damaging parts of evangelical Christianity.

I am sure this book has helped many people. But this guy should not be a pastor. I would look elsewhere if you are interested in this type of content.

apart from a couple of typos, good overall book. The messaging is important in this day and age and Steele uses both scripture and logic to back up his argument.
