Thanks to the author Erika Fair for the gifted copy of this book!

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿… a fun genre mashup with mystery, rockstars, and magic!

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞: Fallon has been getting premonitions about future dangers all her life. She does her best to warn those in trouble, and one instance leads her to Bret James, a rock star who ends up becoming a more permanent part of her life than she anticipated. More premonitions, disappearances, and her mysterious raven tattoo lead to questions about what will become of her future, and also the secrets of her past.

𝗠𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪: THE SECRET GIRL is an absolutely fantastic debut novel from Erika Fair. I was in it from the beginning for the witchy vibes, but absolutely hooked by the mystery and NEED book two to answer all of my questions! I was rooting for Fallon the whole time, and there are so many secrets and unknowns, you won’t be able to guess what’s going to happen next. I loved the impact of all the side characters, and I’m thoroughly invested at this point. Highly recommend this one for your witch week TBR if you want a little of everything - romance, mystery, and magic!

The Secret Girl gripped me immediately. The story is full of unexplained magical abilities and is a clean romance. It's not YA but has a YA vibe.

I enjoyed all the characters - both the primary and secondary characters were developed enough to really get to know them individually and their impact on each other.

I liked how it was told in both present day and in flashbacks to the past, giving us some glimpses and more development on the abilities our FMC has.

The romance was sweet and believable - not an insta love but a connection that couldn't be explained, and a reconnection after some time had passed sparked it all. My favorite character might be the MMC's child and I am interested to see how her uniqueness develops, and where it came from.

There are still so many questions though and the author did a good job giving us some pebbles of detail while letting us know there is so much more to learn about this world. Who is Fallon? Who are the beings who try to control her? Aliens? Something else? I guess we won't find out until the trilogy is complete.

Definitely a fun and easy read, one that I devoured over a few evenings.

Thank you for the #gifted copy! @bookedwiththeemilys @erikawriteswithravens

Wow, talk about an excellent reading experience. My heart rate was up and I was so invested within just a few sentences. The intensity of that first chapter stuck with me through the entire book, my heartbeat would speed up each time it was revisited and I felt all the emotions over and over again. It was incredibly powerful.

This story is so unique and has an interesting aspect of “second sight”, what life for someone with it, and those around them, might be like. The story has a significant amount of sadness but also beautiful relationships that balance it out. I really enjoyed this and couldn’t wait until I’d get to pick it up again to read each day. I can’t wait to start the next book in the trilogy!

This book is a thrilling page turner that will keep you coming back for more. A fantasy, action, mystery, and romance all in one—this one is part real-world, part magic. The main character, Fallon, is edgy and sometimes gets lost in her own darkness, but also fights to be benevolent and good, making her a perfectly interesting protagonist.
The reader gets to find out pieces of her story alongside her, which makes the big reveals all the more big. I couldn’t put this one down!

A heartfelt thank you to @erikawriteswithravens and @bookedwiththeemilys for the #gifted books!

I’m excited to share my thoughts on the first installment of The Lonely Raven Trilogy, and it was absolutely mesmerizing.

This story stands out with its unique premise featuring Fallon, who possesses “second sight.” The story expertly explores her life and the profound effects her abilities have on those around her. While the tale carries poignant themes of sadness, it is beautifully balanced by powerful relationships she develops that offer hope and warmth.

The characters are strikingly realistic, relatable, and captivating. The storyline is a thrilling blend of mystery, magic, and romance, and captured my heart. The sweet romance that blossomed between Fallon and Bret was truly heartwarming, and her instant connection with Bergen, Bret’s daughter, added another layer of charm. I also adored Fallon’s protective dog, Azul, who shows up no matter where Fallon is.

Set in the present yet intricately woven with flashbacks from Fallon and her brother Luca, the story provides essential context for Fallon’s abilities and reveals the complexities of her family's past. While Fallon’s gifts are remarkable, they also place her in perilous situations, especially if they fall into the wrong hands. The gradual unraveling of these mysteries kept me on the edge of my seat.

The ending left me desperately longing for the next installment, The Magic Girl, which was released on November 4, 2025. I can hardly wait!

I actually finished “The Secret Girl” almost a week ago but we were on our way to Cabo to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary when I finished it. So I wanted to wait until I was in a clear state of mind when I wrote any reviews. LOL
.
Of course, let me start with the obvious… I loved this book! Our main character, Fallon receives visions that can save people’s lives. Unfortunately, the visions aren’t always clear and complete enough to save everyone from danger, and we learn some of the heartbreaking times this has happened to the people she loves most.
.
But what exactly happened to those she loves most? That’s part of the mystery unraveling throughout the book!
.
Early in the story, Fallon meets Bret James with whom she shares a telepathic connection. Yep… these two are able to speak directly to each other through their minds. This gift likewise comes with some of its own limitations, like needing to be in the same state, which can be problematic!
.
Fallon’s gifts are special but they can also put her in grave danger, especially if discovered by the wrong people. But who are the “wrong people”? Another mystery that unfolds in this book!
.
I have so many questions sparked from this first book and I can’t wait to read the next in the series! I also had sooooooo many personal stories that bubbled to the surface about prophetic visions, telepathic connections, ravens, and bumblebee charms. But maybe I should keep those a secret 🤫

Thank you for the gifted copy @bookedwiththeemilys @erikawriteswithravens #gifted

Fallon has lived her life haunted and guided by her gift of premonitions. Whether it’s strangers or those she loves, she sees glimpses of what’s to come, and she does everything she can to help even when it costs her. Sometimes she can stop the tragedy… and sometimes she can’t.
When she meets Bret, the man from one of her visions, an instant telepathic connection forms between them. They’re separated for nearly a year and a half before their paths cross again. Once reunited, their bond deepens quickly. He has a daughter, and soon their lives become beautifully tangled… until one terrifying vision threatens to destroy the future they’ve built. Now Fallon must fight to save the man she loves.
Told through multiple POVs and dual timelines jumping between Fallon’s present and her formative years (complete with a loyal, black dog companion) The Secret Girl offers mystery, emotion, and a touch of the supernatural. Fallon is a fascinating character: secretive, compassionate, and layered in ways that leave you craving answers. The ending perfectly sets up the next installment. I closed the book immediately ready to dive into book two.

Book Review: "The Secret Girl" by Erika Fair

Erika Fair’s "The Secret Girl" is a gripping and emotionally charged novel that immerses readers in a world of suspense and intricate relationships. The story follows an ordinary girl with a life-altering secret, and Fair masterfully crafts a narrative that blends mystery and psychological drama, keeping me on the edge of my seat.

What sets this book apart is its unique exploration of identity and the lengths we go to protect it. Fair’s evocative writing brings the characters to life, each with their own secrets that add depth and intrigue to the plot. The pacing is expertly handled, with tension-building cliffhangers that had me eagerly flipping pages late into the night.

Fair also delves into themes of friendship, loyalty, and trauma, allowing for a profound emotional connection to the characters. Overall, "The Secret Girl" is an exciting read that defies conventional storytelling and prompts reflection on the complexities of human relationships. I highly recommend this captivating novel for anyone seeking a thrilling literary experience!

@erikawriteswithravens for the #gifted copy.

I really enjoyed book 1 The Secret Girl and am excited to continue the series with the release of book 2 this week. This story grabbed my attention from chapter 1. It is a great blend of magic, mystery, and an age-gap romance with well-developed and interesting main and side characters.

The romance between the FMC and MMC is a sweet romance with a somewhat instant attraction partly due to their ability to communicate telepathically with each other. The MMC is a fun character, as he is a famous Rockstar and is also a dad to a 9 year old daughter.

You get dual timelines with flashbacks to the FMC’s childhood and the development of her magical abilities. The dual timeline helps to understand her character, but also brings more mystery and questions that will need answering in future books. I am glad book 2 is available now to continue the story as I have become quite invested in these characters.

Bonus you also get a Dog named Azul that helps out the FMC by teleporting and he really likes cheese.

Thank you, @bookedwiththeemilys @erikawriteswithravens for the gifted copy of this book!

Fallon has always been different, we find out how different in a series of flashbacks throughout her life and her present storyline with a mysterious premonition involving rockstar, Bret James. Bret is immediately taken with Fallon and dives headfirst into her world of secret, magical abilities that she does not even know the extent of. Bret and his young daughter Bergen are intertwined into a life where Fallon has lost almost everyone that has ever been close to her.

I really enjoyed this Fantasy book, Fallon’s abilities and the way everything is revealed to us is very interesting and intriguing. I was guessing along with the characters what was going on. There is a great ensemble of characters including Bret’s family and friends as well as the few people Fallon has let into her life including her dog.

I am very interested in where this story takes us. The second book in the trilology, The Magic Girl was just released as there are so many questions that has yet to be answered.

In this book:
*Premonitions
*telepathy
*dark magic
*mysterious characters and plot
*rockstars
*magical dog

🪶 Magical Realism
💫 Premonitions and Prophecies
❤️ Found Family
🌙 Strong Female Lead
🕰️ Past and Present Intertwined
🖤 Mystery with Romantic Elements
✨ “The Chosen One” Energy

The Secret Girl grabbed my attention from the start. Fallon has visions of the future and feels responsible for warning people, even when it costs her everything. She’s been through a lot, but I loved how she starts to find connection again with this new group of people and the mysterious raven that keeps showing up. The mix of magic, mystery, and emotion really worked for me, and I liked how the flashbacks filled in the pieces of her story. Fallon’s “second sight” made this one feel unique, and I was completely caught up in trying to figure out what it all meant. This is the first in the Lonely Raven Trilogy, and I’m excited to start book two, The Magic Girl, because I have so many questions.

Thank you, Partner Booked with The Emilys and the author, Erika Fair, for this read in exchange for my honest review of The Secret Girl.
Amazing!
This is the first book in The Lonely Raven Trilogy and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I was captivated from the start and could not stop turning the pages. It is about Fallon who gets premonitions about future dangers and she has had this her whole life. This time it leads her to Bret, who is a rock star, and he ends up becoming a part of her life, which she did not expect. We end up with disappearances and so much more. Why does her raven tattoo end up leading her to having questions of her future and past? The author wrote this well and every character in this I loved, especially Fallon. It kept me guessing the whole time. I loved the magic and mystery in this a lot. Overall, I loved this read and would recommend it to any reader, especially to those who love fantasy books.

Wow. This is truly an amazing book that will capture your attention from just starting the first couple chapters. From the plot to the characters, Erika did an amazing job drawing the story together with all the different components. Throughout the book, you will get attached to Fallon, the main character, as you read about her struggles and especially the current action that is taking place. The chapters alternate between the present-day and flashbacks, which was my favorite part. In each flashback, something more mysterious about Fallon was revealed, which drew my attention in even more. Each character in the book impacts the plot and weaves it together — my favorite characters being Selah, Jacob, and Bergen. It was heartwarming to see characters like Selah bringing love and light into Fallon’s dark life and standing with her throughout the story. And then characters like Jacob — mysterious yet (very) intriguing. Erika really did an amazing job of creating a unique plot using the premonitions and flashbacks. I was sad to finish the last chapter, but I’m excited for the second book of the trilogy to come out! The Secret Girl is a must read for any fantasy fiction lover.

Wow what a great start to a trilogy!
Fallon has received premonitions for a long but it can also be feelings about bad things to happen. She shared this ability with her brother Luca. When she rescues Bret from one of her visions, they are intertwined from that start.

Fallon's ability reminds me of Phoebe from the TV show Charmed. I love the mystery and magic of this story. There are so many facets and nuances to it and there is still more to uncover as the trilogy moves along. I love that Bret listens and believes in Fallon. I feel that Bret's daughter, Bergen, will definitely have bigger roles in the next books (am I having a premonition?! 😉)

The times when Fallon disappears and comes back some time later with an unexplained tattoo is one of the biggest parts that intrigues me about this story and I hope we get more answers.

《Book #103 in 2025》

Thank you @bookedwiththeemilys & @erikawriteswithravens for my gifted copy of book one and an eARC for book 2.

Second sight, mystery, found family, romance, a loyal dog...

I love when the start of a book grabs my attention immediately. The flashbacks and the mystery between Fallon, Luca, and her childhood had me constantly turning the page. There were a few turns that I didn't expect (Wizard of Oz) and am more intrigued. I felt Book one was great at introducing the characters and current problem, but also just enough hints of the past. I can't wait to dive into book 2 to figure out more.

I read this for a book club. Fair is a local writer, and this is her first novel. She could have used a more effective editor. There were a number of typographical errors. I grew tired of learning what the characters were wearing. This type of fantasy doesn’t appeal to me. But I completed the novel.

There were numerous unanswered questions which presumably will be handled in the next two books of the trilogy.

This book had me hooked instantly. The world-building was lush, surprising yet still familiar.

The two main characters have distinct, complimentary personalities.

All in all, the characters are sophisticated and complex. They're beautifully motivated and there are zero one-note side characters running around, creating unnecessary drama for everyone else... everyone has their place.

Wow, this was a great start to the trilogy and leaves you hanging and wanting more in the best way.

I was instantly sucked into this story. I love how many layers this story has. There is romance, mystery behind our FMC and magic(or magical type powers). This story has many povs to give us a glimpse into the past and present. I love seeing the many povs because each new person we see the view from peels back another layer of this world.
This is a multi pov, fantasy romance. It is the beginning of a series so get ready to be sucked in (I know I was).

The Secret Girl follows Fallon, a woman who has had premonitions of people getting hurt most of her life.
They come on without warning and she is often able to intervene and prevent something terrible happening. But it's a tremendous burden to have her on her shoulders.
Fallon is a kind soul, but the premonitions and the losses she has had in her life are hard to deal with.
She is hurting, and I could definitely relate to her and feel strongly for her. I love the found family she discovers throughout the first book. The mysteries throughout the book are fun to discover and I love all the magical elements. Azul, her dog, is such a cool character and such a great part of the story. I honestly enjoyed all of the characters. l've already started book 2 and am excited to see where it goes.
