What a fantasy book that you can't put down?? Look no further. Reign has elves and feye, fated mates, quests, battles, and magic. It kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more and more.

thank you to the author for gifting me this copy of the book! 🫶🏼

Reign follows Nyra, a reluctant queen who was unexpectedly crowned after the sudden death of her older brother. With her magical powers waning, Nyra finds herself on a quest to restore the balance of her kingdom alongside the other Crowns of the realm — one of whom her former childhood, friend, ally and lover.

Torn between duty and resurging feelings, Nyra must navigate a labyrinth of trust, betrayal, and political intrigue—and ultimately prove to herself (if no one else) that she truly deserves to sit on the throne 👑

unfortunately, this just wasnt the book for me! The premise was very promising & had a lot of potential, and that was what kept me interested enough to finish the book. However, there were just too many subplots happening at the same time — some of which weren’t very well explained & it got confusing 🙁 Some of the details that seemed important were also not touched on or developed deeply (it felt very touch-and-go!)

i’ve seen people who’ve read this book really really love it! so if you’d like to give this one a try, you can look forward to these tropes:

💙 Slow burn, second chance romance
💙 Forced proximity
💙 “Who did this to you?”
💙 Quests
💙 Enemies to Lovers
💙 Dual timeline

We start off with a fae queen who has lost her powers. We learn that the Elves and the Fae were at war and still hold resentment towards each other.

Then, the Elf King threatens the Fae Queen saying the land will be his to rule or theirs together. Way to start off!

We learn that temples have been ransacked around the Kingdom and neighboring kingdoms. The Fae assume they must be the elves in search of something...but what?

The two lead fae are able to speak to each other in their minds, something that no one should be able to do. It becomes quite obvious to the reader that they have to be mates. What else can explain their relationship? But mates between two Royals cannot be. The last time that happened, it destroyed both their kingdoms.

The ending was such a rollercoaster. I actually didn't see any of it coming, which is rare for me because usually I can sense these things. But the true culprit behind everything was not who I thought it was and the last fight scene was just a blast to read.

First off I have to say, I cannot believe a sixteen year old wrote this, it was absolutely amazing, I loved the duel point of view and the fact that it gives us some historyas it switches, normal I don't like that but it was so well done in book that it truly added to it. I am a fantasy lover through and through and I lovedthe uniqueness of this book. Oh and did I mention a sixteen year old wrote this? oh I did lol I just had to say it again! This book was fabulous I could not put it down, and honestly will pick this book upagain and reread it. If your a fantasy lover like me, you should really check this duology out!!!!!! You wont regret it! I cant wait to see what she writes as she continues her journey!

What a fun time this book was! High stakes, slow-burn with a unique plot. The narrative was also unique in that we have dual POV and also past and present events.

I will say sometimes this did lead me to getting a little lost in the story. But this is one of those books that the more you read, the more you understand what’s happening. It may not be fully clear at the start but it was fun to go through the book and uncover it together with our characters.

Thank you to the author for the review copy.

An interesting fantasy with a romance subplot.

This book has feye, elves, sirens and mention of faeries and vampires. The magic system is fairly simple to understand but still interesting.

I really enjoyed it but could I felt like it could have done with more background story and world building for such an interesting society!

WHAT THE FUCK THIS WAS WRITTEN BY A 16 YEAR OLD!!!

HOW???! It’s…. Surprisingly really good - the writing is so different to the other YA fantasy books all written in present tense and every other chapter there are flash backs…. I love that the story starts in the middle and as the reader you have to slowly piece together the pieces to actually understand wtf happened in the past!

It took me about 100 pages to fully get in it - but that’s expected with all fantasy books….

I love spicy scenes but CONSIDERING A TEEN WROTE THIS IDK IF I WOULD WANNA READ ANY YK?

There is a kiss scene and it’s actually really well written!

I’m so excited for the next one keep going!

- also - where the hell did you get all these names ??! 😂

An excellent concept and great start for a young author! The bones of the story are there and will improve the more she writes.
