4.5 stars. Shadow Daddy but it's ✨sapphic✨. Yien is 100% a Shadow Daddy and I said what I said. It'll make sense to the girls that get it, trust me. She's a demon with shadows and she refers to Iris as her ‘little human’ and her ‘little pet’ and I malfunctioned just writing this sentence. She’s also emotionally stoic (*dolphin noises*) and looking for a companion.

Iris doesn’t feel free until she gets kidnapped and taken by Yien. That’s how bad her family life was. She gets kidnapped by a demon and taken to an auction to be sold where Yien purchases her. I loved both of these characters a lot and felt for both of them. Iris just wants to live her life on her own terms and not having to be under father’s thumb, Yien is feeling a bit lost and is looking for someone to be by her side. They worked so well together. This wasn’t as spicy as I expected but what was there was really good. I also really liked the ending, Yien tries to push Iris away “for her safety” and Iris is having none of that shit and I loved her so much in that scene.

I can’t wait for book three!

it helped me get out of my very intense month long reading slump, as lesbian spicy novel(la)s do tend to do, however, i really wish we could’ve gotten more. little more before they met building on yien’s side would’ve made this so much better! also lowkey interested in knowing what happened with the parents. the smut was good tho!

wow I kinda hated that

I didn’t enjoy this author’s writing under Eden Emory but it’s a novella so I thought “why the hell not?”. It was meh.

My heart has been melted. Even though it was short it literally gave us everything. Steam, cuteness, love, drama, angst and a cute lil ending. Yien and Iris went together so well. I literally can’t 😭😭. It’s still not a four stars because I needed more 🤷‍♀️. I’m so ready to read the twins novella when it comes outtt. Toodles!

SO GOOD! so cute, so steamy, so good!!
I love how Iris was saved from such a bad situation, and while she could have ended up in an equally bad one she ended up in such a loving relationship and received the best treatment in her entire life.
I loved how even before Yien could see her, she knew Iris was hers. I loved how Iris and Yiens shadows communicated and how Iris thought they were beautiful, I loved how she was never truly scared while she was with Yien. The story was truly beautiful, the two shared such a bond and a true connection.
I love this series and can’t wait to read the third book after seeing who the characters are, they are kind of growing on me a little? So I can’t wait for their own book!

Great Match

I actually liked this story better than the first one. It was more palpable. Yien didn’t waste any time getting her human. And her human was made especially for her. Iris saw Yien for the different demo that she was and knew immediately that she was better off in another realm purchased by a demon than the life she left behind.

I was truly married to the idea of them having their HEA!

Un romance tierno y melancólico, donde dos personajes diferentes pero iguales en cuanto a sentirse solos y encontrarse para llenar ese vacío.

En el desenlace todo pasa muy rápido y eso fue lo que le bajó la calificación a igual de la ligera indiferencia sobre la desaparición y posible muerte de una de sus hermanas, fuera de eso todo se siente con un ritmo melancólico pero bien en general. Otro detalle que la autora no trató explícitamente pero se da entender es el tema del abuso tanto psicológico como sexual a uno de los personajes y el sentimiento de rabia por los que lo causaron siguió aunque entendí que no era el punto de la historia, ya que esta se enfocaba más en encontrar un lugar en que la protagonista fuera libre y ella misma.

My favorite of the series so far! This is an empath human x shadow demon dark monster romance, with dom/sub dynamics between the MCs that made this a very quick read for me.

It’s still pretty straight forward and simple, as novellas tend to be, but I loved the character development of Iris and the poetry of “getting kidnapped made her finally feel free” from her abusive family and their patriarchal grip and expectations of her… and of course the spice scenes were chef’s kiss.

Fulfilled the sapphic monster smut hole in my heart that I had for a few months.

I definitely could have gone for this one being longer on a plot level! It felt like we were building up to something more with the way Iris was exploring the fog and its different reactions to her with/without Yien, and a twist more connected to that (or somehow bringing back the terrible family for some very much due vengeance) would have been more narratively satisfying than a repeat of Auctioned Again from book 1, but the relationship was still totally 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and I had too much fun binging it in one sitting not to give full stars. Will absolutely pick up the next one ASAP.

Okay side note: anybody else kind of want a love interest for our auction Madam 😆 listen I know she’s been a thorn in our side antagonist on repeat but I like her anyway.

I did not expect to become as captivated by a novella as I did.

A quick, fast-paced, hot and steamy, yet cute read. The connection, though rushed, is clearly felt between Yien and Iris. I loved Yien's inexperience, but willingness to learn more about her human and her needs.

It was a true story of finding the one that really gets you and my heart swelled with every action, thought, and conversation. It was truly adorable.

The spice was also wonderful.

With every book we discover a little bit more about the Shadow Realm, but it still leaves us wondering. I think learning more about it would work wonders.

I absolutely recommend this paranormal romance!

Review:
I really loved going back to the demon realms. Iris was a fun human and god I hated her human family. I have never been happier for someone to be kidnapped by demons to be auctioned off. I loved her being an empath and the details of her being able to see the colour of people's aura and emotions. So well written. I love that it's only after she's purchased by her new demon master Yien, that she can finally feel free to live. Yien is just utterly adorable and I love that all she wanted was to take care of the souls she's in care of, the ones she calls family. But feeling lost she wants to find someone to have as a companion, someone to share life with and be by her side. I loved the immediate chemistry and connection between these two, a safety and comfort with words unspoken. The yearning was so good and the spice was detailed just enough!! Also little human and little pet as pet names just stop it, I loved it. It was just everything. A really wholesome sapphic demon novella and an amazing edition to this series.

The dynamic between Iris and Yien had me hooked from the start—they clicked immediately, and I'm a sucker for that insta-"love" trope when it's done right. What can I say? I love me a shadow mommy~ 🖤

Despite being a bit shorter than the first novella, this one built a genuine, heartfelt bond between the two mains that felt so real. I love them so much, your honor—I genuinely wished they had a full-length book all to themselves. It expanded on the world-building beautifully too, adding layers that made the whole series feel more immersive.

Iris' story hit close to home—feeling trapped by toxic family expectations and societal pressure her whole life, only for being kidnapped to ironically become the best thing that ever happened to her. I felt for her deeply (when will it be my turn, universe?). No real complaints here; it just left me wanting even more time with these two.

Super cute and smutty and agh I love a masc shadow daddy. And Auctions.

Def recommend reading the first book to get a better understanding of certain things (plus why wouldn’t you… don’t deny yourself of another shadow daddy)

Sapphic Shadow Daddy supremacy🧎‍♀️ we believe in ( cause the do it better than men). This was fast paced and easy to read, spicy but not as much as the first novella. I liked the dynamic between an empath and shadow wielder, both were so cute together and caring for each other. But I would like to have more info on the Shadow realm tho.

Infinitament millor que el primer. Era el primer que vaig descobrir de la saga i el que tenia més ganes de llegir, i la veritat és que he quedat molt satisfeta :D
Em cauen molt bé la Iris i la Yien (millor que les del 1r llibre), i la seva relació + desenvolupament m'agraden molt! Molt interessant lo de les aures i les ombres, la veritat. A més, no hi ha hagut drames innecessaris ni res.
