It’s been awhile since I’ve read a Martina book from H.K. Christie because I finished the series (so far), but THANKFULLY I’m on her ARC team so I got my hands on the next book, Her Fearless Pursuit, and yet again H.K. Did NOT disappoint!!
This series is so fast-paced, such an easy read that keeps you hooked, and every story has an exhilarating story behind it! You also get to follow Martina and her crew throughout the series, and you really grow to LOVE these characters!🥰
This story is about a woman who was found beaten and left for dead in a park. She has amnesia and can’t remember anything about her life. Martina and her private investigator crew take this case on pro bono to help this “Jane Doe” figure out her life. Jane starts off with having nightmares with a few distinct memories… then she starts having small memories appear as to who attacked her and why. With Martina and her PI crew’s help, Jane finds out the shocking truth of what really happened to her… and her baby!👀
This book’s publishing day is February 21! Which gives you just enough time to start from book #1 to learn a little more about Martina, her family, and friends. If you like SVU, you’ll love this series😻

A great mystery thriller / police procedural, involving a rescued woman with no memories of her assailants, no DNA, no birth certificate, nor social media traces. Taken from the view of “Jane Doe” and the private investigators working pro-bono, shocking twists are uncovered as Jane’s memories resurface. This is book 13 of the Martina Monroe series, but it was perfectly readable as a standalone.
While I enjoyed the mystery, the characters and that the last 20% really picked up in action, I struggled with certain elements. This included believability (unprofessional boundary crossings of letting a client [or potential suspect], stay at your house, bias towards the woman as the victim without objective priority) as well as a slow pacing, repetitive statements, or overuse of redundant sentences not needed to build suspense (eg. “what had they found?”). I also was disappointed that the conclusion didn’t provide adequate motive to connect why that particular person had done what they did. The history didn’t quite harmonise for me, how was it planned exactly? What were the emotions involved for that person?
Not a bad thriller for an easy read.

that case was CRAZY, very heavy law and order svu vibes and i loved it (but my favourite part was hirsch having to try and ‘dad’ selena, i can’t even lie).

Book#13 - Martina Monroe is called in on a case where a woman was found beaten and left in a park to die. When the woman is taken to the hospital, they discover she has no memory about what happened or no idea who she is. Martina and the team, which now includes her stepdaughter Selena, begin to work the case. They realize the woman may be in danger so they put her in a safe house while they try everything they can to find out who she is. Clues being to drop in their lap and they unearth several things about her. At the same time the missing woman begins to remember different things to help. Once all her memories return, she sets out on a destructive path to confront the people that beat her up and left her for dead. This places her life in jeopardy and she prays someone will find her before it’s too late.

In this Martina Monroe series story, we find her daughter Zoe, and herself, have progressed in their personal lives. An unexpected and joyous development for both. Selena, Martina’s stepdaughter, plays a pivotal role when joining the investigation firm and their new case. Ms Christie hits it out of the park with this next story in Martina Monroe series. Not only are her private investigators working with her on this case, Hutch joins the case keeping the well oiled machine moving even better. Her stepdaughter plays a important role as an investigator in this story, and though not a blood relative to Martina, she functions with the same intelligence, analytical thinking and processing. Fast-paced storyline. The very talented writing kept me glued to my chair, flipping pages to keep up with the investigation. Reading quickly so I don’t miss out on any clues, being a part of the case. A thundering finish, amazing! Took me completely by surprise, which I love. I received a complimentary ARC, but I am voluntarily offering my personal opinion.

This is now book 13 of the Martina Monroe series. When a woman is discovered beaten and bloodied in a park with no memory, Martina and her team at Drakos Monroe Security & Investigations are called in. The author called in all the troups for this one. Martina’s stepdaughter Selena Bailey is here as well as Martina’s retired partner Sergeant Hirsh. The gangs all here for this one. As they slowly try to find out who did this to the woman, pieces of information slowly get discovered. Things take a turn as someone is watching them. I loved the story, as I have with all of the Martina books. As an aside…the cover of the book is awesome. I received an ARC copy from the author, and this is my honest review.

What would you do if you woke up one day beaten and left for dead without a single memory of what happened and how you got there? What would you do if there were no traces of you, no dental records, no driver’s license, it was as if you never existed? This is what Jane Doe is dealing with in this story. The police team her up with a private investigation team to see if they could track down her true identity. A few weeks in, Jane starts having flashes of memories which clue her in to the fact that she has a daughter and her daughter may have been taken from her. Now she must find out where her daughter is and who took her. Are they the same people that left her for dead? This was a quick read because I didn’t want to put it down. I needed to know what happened to her.

A girl is found in the park where she was left to die. She has no memory of anything that has happened in her life prior to this day. A man walking his dog finds her and gets her help. Then Martina Monroe and Selena Bailey are brought on to consult the case thanks to her buddy retired Sergeant Hirsh who still helps with the case as well. They call the girl Jane doe and work the case to try to figure out what happened to her. They learned she had a baby so where is the baby and how did she end up left to die in the park? Well you’ll have to read it to find out what Martina and the squad find out.

This book was brilliant! I haven't read any of the Martina Monroe books before this one, but this made me start searching for all the preceding books to try buy them.
I was hooked from the first page and I did not see that ending coming at all. I was shocked and then so happy and emotional all at the same time.
This book tugged on my heartstrings while still being a fantastic thriller that kept me on my toes at all times.
Selena was definitely my favourite character. The mental and emotional strength that she has is just so well portrayed.

Her Fearless Pursuit is the thirteenth book in the Martina Monroe series and it does not disappoint. In this one Martina's investigative skills, but also her resilience end up being tested like never before when a woman is discovered in a park. This was a fast paced read that had me turning pages until the very end. The author did a great job writing this one and it also keeps you guessing. Martina and her crew are amazing to follow along with as they try to figure what happened. The characters are great in this and I look forward to reading other books from this series. I waited patiently to see if I was chosen from NetGalley and wahoo, yes, finally! I have loved Martina Monroe from the first book. She is a real go getter and will stop and nothing to find the truth, within the bounds of process of the law, because she wants her investigation to stick. This book is suspenseful with some unexpected twists that I didn’t see coming. Sad that I am done, but again back to waiting on Martina’s next case to solve. Long and drawn out. Not as good as it should be.
What happened to the strong figure of Martina? This book was not a good example of this series. I expected a lot more from this author. Basically you know what is going on with Hannah from the very beginning. Their is no excitement. I have no idea why I finished reading until the very last page. i guess I kept expecting more. Please bring back stronger characters and a much better plot. I am not giving anything away, so readers can come to their own decisions.

Excellent Book !!
I love all of HK Christie‘s books. She is an amazing writer ! Everyone of her books leaves me wanting more. I’m really excited that the Selina Bailey series has become part of the Martina Monroe series as well ! All her characters are awesome. Their personalities are great. So this book was a truly wild ride and one of my very favorites out of the series ! If you love action, intrigue, and excitement I highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to read more. !

Just finished this 13 book series and loved it! Throughout it, there was another 5 book mini-series intertwined and I just couldn't get enough! The author took her time telling the backstory of the characters, and each book felt like watching an episode of some kind of crime show as they worked through another case.. I was completely invested. I did find there was a little bit of unnatural/repetitive dialogue in a couple of the earlier books, but it seemed like that got better as time went on. Overall it was a 10/10 series and I'm looking forward to when the next sequel is released

A woman is found beaten and with no memory. Martina is asked to take the case and she does. She and her team at Drakos Investigations start investigating. However, the more they look, the more bizarre it gets. She has no history, no past, no driver license, no birth certificate, nothing. Jane Doe gets bits of memories and the team slowly pieces together her history. This is a great story wonderfully woven together through the viewpoints of each person.

Another great book in this series. A women who has almost been murdered and services with no memory. She arrives for help and it takes the entire team to help and protect her. She slowly gains some memories but slowly as she is almost killed again. She has memories of a daughter and a strange previous life with old injuries and no birth record. It is an interesting read.

This felt like the old school Martina Monroe books I started reading a year ago this month and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t know what it is about the formula of this series that makes me much a fast reader, but it just works. I missed these characters so much and I couldn’t be happier with the way they came back together in this installment!

Enjoyed this addition
No spoilers- I enjoyed this installment of the series a lot. I appreciate the connection to characters we have gotten to know over the course of the series, but still primarily focusing on a new case/mystery to be solved. Martina continues to be one of my favorite female leads.

Sinister or greed
What was the real truth in this book. Was it a matter of a cult like lifestyle for the male to choose what happens, was it about being able to have complete control over others or was it just plain evil greed. No matter how you see this story there is enough evidence to point in all directions.

Once again Martina is back on the job. Why is there a severely injured woman with no memory. Who did this and why the secrets. Full of danger and suspense that will keep you trying to figure out what happened. As always fantastic.

Loved having Martina and Selena together! The authors ability to describe every detail really gets you sucked into these stories quickly. There are always twists and turns I didn’t see coming. This is one of my favorite series ever, I don’t even have a favorite because each one is so good.
