സ്നേഹത്തെ, സന്തോഷത്തെ നമ്മൾ കണ്ടെത്താൻ തുടങ്ങി കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ പിന്നെയുള്ള ജീവിതം കിടുവാണ്!!

അഞ്ചൽ താജ് ന്റെ 'ഇസ്നേഹം' എന്ന പുസ്തകം, തനിക്കുണ്ടായ കുറേ അനുഭവങ്ങളെ മുൻനിർത്തികൊണ്ട് അതിലെ സ്നേഹത്തെയും, ആശയങ്ങളെയുമൊക്കെ വിലയിരുത്തുന്നു. തുടരുന്ന ഒരു കഥ പറയുംപോലെയല്ലാതെ, തന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത അനുഭവങ്ങളാണ് കഥാകൃത് ഇതിൽ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്. കഥയോടപ്പം സാഹിത്യവും ഇതിൽ കാണാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നു.
ഡൽഹിയിലെ അനുഭവങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടാണ് കഥ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. താൻ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ളതും തനിക്ക് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുമായ സ്നേഹത്തെയും സ്നേഹബന്ധങ്ങളെയും കഥാകൃത് ഇതിൽ പരാമർശിക്കുന്നു. ഒരു കഥ പോലെ അല്ലാതെ തന്റെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടിനെയാണ് കഥാകൃത് ഇതിൽ പ്രകടമാക്കുന്നത്. പലപ്പോഴായി നടന്ന പല കാര്യങ്ങളെയും, പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവരെയും കഥാകൃത് ഓർക്കുന്നു.
തന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത കഥകൾ ഓരോ അധ്യായമായി അവതരിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോഴും, പിന്നീട് അതിൽ തന്റെ അഭിപ്രായം പറയമ്പോഴുമൊക്കെ, പലപ്പോഴും കഥയുടെ ആസ്വാദനം നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്നൊരു സംശയം. ഒരുപക്ഷേ കഥ മാത്രമായി പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നേൽ കുറേകൂടി ആസ്വദനീയമായേനെ. പല കഥയും പൂര്ണമായില്ല എന്നൊരു തോന്നലുമുണ്ട്. പിന്നീട് തുടരുംവിധം പല കഥകളും ഒതുക്കിയെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് അവയെ പറ്റിയൊന്നും പരാമര്ശിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല. വളരെ നീണ്ട വാക്യങ്ങൾ പലപ്പോഴും ആസ്വാദനത്തെ ബാധിച്ചു. എന്നിരുന്നാലും, കഥാകൃത് തന്റെ ആശയങ്ങളെയും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങളെയും വളരെ സാഹിത്യമുഖേന തന്നെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
