Dead to Rights by Gary Quesenberry is an outstanding continuation from the first book, Homecoming, from start to finish. Not only is Case’s character developed and holds your attention, but Case’s family and friends play a strong role throughout. The intensity and the undertaking Case has against each other will keep your attention. This creates the kind of book that grabs your attention from the beginning and doesn’t let go until the final word. His writing is sharp, vivid, and paced perfectly, pulling you deep into the story without ever feeling rushed or forced. The plot is smart and suspenseful, layered with just the right amount of twists to keep you guessing without losing focus.
This is more than just a well-written thriller—it’s a story that respects the reader’s intelligence while delivering the excitement and intrigue fans of the genre crave. If you’re looking for a book that’s both smart and consistent, Dead to Rights should be at the top of your list.
“Dead to Rights” by Dan Quesenberry is a great sequel to “Homecoming”. This story begins shortly after Case Younger stopped a sex trafficking and drug ring in his hometown and destroying the gang leadership that was running the drug and sex trafficking in Virginia.
The one member of the gang leadership that escaped the bar fire by being out of town is trying to find the person who was responsible for the destruction of the gang. Through the help of a corrupt cop and one of the sex trafficking women who was freed by Case, he identifies Case Younger who was responsible for the deaths of the gang leadership. He plots with the main sex trafficker in New York to provide the muscle to go after Case Younger in his hometown. The novel is about the effort to get revenge on Case Younger.
DEAD TO RIGHTS, #2 - Continuing where Homecoming ends, this is an interesting story with good characters and set at a good pace. The author needs to get an editor who can actually do the job of editing; too many basic errors, which take away from the story. A comma makes a big difference in meaning. Source: LibraryThing. 4*
HOMECOMING, #1 - A totally awesome read. I was totally immersed in this story with its intriguing story lines, interesting characters and non-stop pace. I love the triumph of Good vs. Evil, and fixing wrongs. Plenty of action, emotions, and cans being opened. Source: LibraryThing. 5*
