I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my partner of over 20 years, two teenage sons, and our Irish Wolfhound, Sarge. There's always something going on around here, and the dog is usually at the centre of the mischief. He's a bit of a sock thief, but only the oldest child's or dad's, and they're usually found on my bed!
In my early 20's, (prior to kids, and my partner, obviously) I sang in a couple of local bands on the weekends. Now I only sing for my own amusement, and pleasure. The bonus is, now I get to use my singing to annoy my children!
I've also been baking, and decorating cakes since my late teens, and I've made a lot of different styles of cakes. Everything from wedding cakes, to kids birthday cakes. I even made a cookie cake one year for my youngest son, it looked like something the dog left behind, but the kids loved it! I love creating new, and exciting designs for my family, and close friends, it feeds my soul, and my need to be creative, as well as my sweet tooth!
Writing is something I've always wanted to do. English was one of my favourite classes, because I could write essays. The only problem was, I couldn't keep to words limits, and I still can't! Mind you, my word limits are my own these days, but I still always go over what I have planned. Apparently, I can't shut up! Being an author as been a dream for as long as I can remember. Self-publishing has made that dream a reality.
My path to becoming a published author came about by pure accident. After reading romance novels since I was in my early teens, (way too early to be reading the bodice rippers that I was!) I wrote a small piece, and asked a close friend to read it. I knew she read what I did, and would tell me if it was good ... or not! She told the rest of our circle of friends, they read it, and wanted more, and well, one thing led to another which led to my first novel being published. That small piece, is now a very edited, and added to last chapter of 'Sneaky', the first book in my Sneaky Love Series.
This is book three in The Drake Wines Series and it is Caleb and Leila's story and it is a must read. What do you do when you are the youngest Drake sibling and you are not what they portray you to be and you have to prove who and what you are and your worth and what you can achieve that is what Caleb is up against and now he is determined to prove that he is more than what they see. Leila is the pastry chef at vines and she has seen how hard Caleb works and what he is up against but she believes in him and will do anything and everything that she can to help him even if that means being his take fiance to help him get the deal that he needs and to help him achieve his goals. The chemistry between Caleb and Leila is explosive but will they manage to convince and cool everyone into thinking that they are the real deal or will it blow up in there faces destroying everything that they have worked for only time will tell. I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down and Caleb and Leila are so perfect together and this book pulled me into the story right from the start and you find yourself hoping that everything turns out and they get something special which is what they both really deserve. This is the first book that I have read by Chelle Pimblott but definitely not the last as it was so well written and definitely worth reading.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow! What can I say about this book except Chelle has given me exactly what I wanted.
I fell in love with Caleb Drake from the first time we met him in Vineyard and I have been waiting for his story since then and Chelle has not disappointed.
Both his siblings appear to see Caleb as a playboy and the little brother who never takes anything seriously and cannot be trusted with anything. However nothing could be further from the truth. But there is one person at Drake Wines that truly believes in him, the manager and favourite pastry chef of Vines Leila Phillips.
She has seen the time and planning Caleb has put into his idea of building a brewery on the Drake Wines estate and knows he can make it a go. There are just two hurdles in his way, his siblings and the hops supplier, who will only do business with a family man.
To put a deal in place Caleb has to go to a weekend soiree with his plus one. Without thinking he says he is bringing his fiancé Leila with him. Leila wants to do everything she can to help and agrees, no one needs to know. Or do they?
Can their friendship survive the weekend, or will it lead to more than just friends and end in tears?
I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down, reading it in less than a day. I love both characters and how they interacted with everyone and the love between them was clear to see from the very beginning. This is by far my favourite book of the Drake Wines series, probably because I have fallen in love with Caleb and wanted to see him succeed. The events over the weekend away although upsetting did have some hilarious moments and how two people could have so much trouble is beyond me.
If there is one series that I would advise you to read this year it would be this one by Chelle Pimblott. You will feel every emotion throughout the series and I cannot wait for the final instalment Sara's Forever. Thank you Chelle for finally giving me my Caleb.
