The Mothmen of Gehenna, Wisconsin by Cody Ray George

The Mothmen of Gehenna, Wisconsin is a story of a family tasked with keeping an unusual being safe. i really enjoyed this story because it has a fierce mix of reality and fantasy. The setting of the book is explained very well, allowing you to get fully transported to rural Wisconsin in the early 70s, and the characters all fit the setting perfectly. It’s almost like Cody George time travelled back to the 70s to do a case study on a real family.

I enjoyed the storyline of the mothmen, their relationship with earth, and their future here. I take the story of the mothmen as a metaphor of sorts, that you have someone (or something) looking out for you and protecting you, even when you can’t see it. This book also touches on the relationship of a father and daughter, and you can see parallels of this relationship in the mothmen family.

Overall, this book is was such a treat. I would easily recommend it to anyone, especially those interested in cryptids. I am very excited to see what this author does next! They are definitely one to watch.
