My arrows end love. So why can’t I stop myself from falling for him?
Love is a lie. I should know—I’ve spent centuries breaking it. As a Cupid, my job is to sever the bonds of broken relationships, giving people the chance to start fresh. I’ve seen it the betrayals, the heartbreak, the illusions. And I’ve made one thing very clear—love isn’t real, and it sure as hell isn’t for me.
Then Rowan walks into my life.
He’s everything I avoid—warm, infuriatingly charming, and absolutely certain we’re meant to be. Fated mates? Please. I don’t believe in fate, and I definitely don’t believe in love. But Rowan makes me question my job, my beliefs, and the truth I’ve clung to for centuries. If love is just a myth, why does being near him make me feel something real?
Now I’m caught between what I’ve always known and what Rowan swears is possible. To let him in means risking everything—even my own heart.
Cozy, angsty, and spicy, this fated-mates romance is perfect for fans of grumpy-sunshine dynamics, Greek mythology, and love stories that will steal your heart—and maybe break it first.
Imagine being a Cupid but you don’t shoot love arrows, you shoot arrows that give people the strength to walk away when the live in the love arrows is depleted. This author did an amazing job of showing that when you look for something like sorrow and pain that is all you’ll see. They also did an amazing job of showing how sometimes love is patient and worth fighting for.
Thank you so much to Maison and Twisted chaos team for the copy of this book! All thoughts and opinions are my own💜💜
From the very first page, I was hooked. The combination of a tough, cynical FMC and the lovable, cinnamon-roll MMC made my heart do all kinds of flips. Watching the FMC struggle with her beliefs and slowly open up to the MMC's charm felt like a personal journey in itself. The romance was sweet but filled with enough angst to keep me on my toes, and there were moments of genuine emotional depth that made the book even more satisfying!
This book was a fun read, and quick too. I love that it is an unconventional look at cupid. Aurora and Rowan have great banter through out the whole book. My heart broke for Rowan, how could it not for the cinnamon roll baker. The spice was great and not over done. The pacing was perfect but there is one chapter I kind of got confused with as we start out with Rowan then switch to Aurora and it took me out for a little but but I easily got back into it.

The UnCupid Cupid is the 1st book in the Myths in Love by Maison De Loup.
This is the first novella by Maison De Loup that I have had the privilege of reading and I have to say that I really enjoyed reading this cute and cozy novella. I loved the premise of this story and I adored the idea of a female Cupid and then twisting and reversing the idea of Cupids purpose.
In The UnCupid Cupid we follow Aurora – aka The UnCupid. Aurora has the typical magical bow and arrows; they still dictate the direction a couple’s relationship will go. But rather than causing couples to fall in love, she breaks the love a couple feels, allowing the two people to find love with others. Aurora is out among the public, playing an emotional traffic controller, pushing hearts back on their natural course…all the while Aurora doesn’t believe in love herself. That irony I found absolutely delicious and twisted.
Here we meet Rowan. He’s this handsome café owner and we quickly learn that he’s actually immune to Aurora’s “I’m magically invisible’ ability.
From the very first moment that Rowan sees Aurora, even though she believes that there’s no way possible anyone should be able to see her I found myself completely and totally enthralled. I loved the shock Aurora felt when she discovered Rowan was able to see her. I could almost see her with this shocked Pikachu face. She was completely and utterly stunned.
Aurora (The UnCupid Cupid): she’s this stubborn, grumpy FMC who I found to be full of all these deep conflicting emotions. There were so many times that I wanted to reach into my Kindle and wrap my hands around her throat and just throttle her and then the next minute I just wanted to wrap her up and hug her and protect her and her heart. Aurora’s character growth and development was slow; it took time and patience. But the payoff was worth it and when she finally steps into her own and you see her full character growth in the end, that is so worth it and makes this a must read.
Rowan: I just loved Rowan; he is so perfect in so many ways. And yet, you don’t see the other side of him coming until he fully unleashes it. Rowan had me sweating through this entire book, and there’s one chapter that I was crying through the entire chapter. You can feel all his emotions and it breaks you and I felt as though it was going to shatter my heart. He really is a perfect man, he’s the perfect fated-mate for Aurora, and I absolutely loved all the delicious sounding different coffee that he created. He could whip me up a coffee any day of the week. (Sorry hun. I love you to the moon and back.)
And as the story continues to move forward, I couldn’t help but fall in love with their banter that leaned more and more into this playful annoyance; you know what I mean, where each sarcastic comment is laced with all this tension and sassy comebacks. You feel all the sparks building up between them just waiting to combust even though you can see Aurora fighting it with everything in her.
I can honestly say that that’s what I truly loved the most. Aurora no longer believes in love. She’s become disillusioned, guarded, and she’s determined to guard and protect her heart and keep it out of the equation.
And yet Rowan is a totally different story. He’s steady, persistent in the best and softest ways. I loved the respect he had for Aurora and never tries to bulldoze over her walls; rather he quietly and gently challenges her and her preconceived notions. And getting to watch Rowan slowly break down Aurora’s disbelief in love and the way Maison allowed their relationship and feelings to slowly develop was honestly masterful and a chef’s kiss.
The UnCupid Cupid is this sweet, magical, full of heart story that manages to wrap you up in this cozy, hopeful feeling that makes you believe that love is a risk worth taking.
I have to say without any shadow of a doubt that this is such a super cute, season-of-love novella that’s going to leave you cheering for that HEA that you know everyone deserves in the end.
I have to say that this is a MUST-READ and you’ll find yourself filled with all the ooey gooey lovey dovey feelings when you’ve read the last word. And I will say that this novella isn’t filled with just mushy love either, you’re going to love the spice that Maison has given us as well.
I highly recommend The UnCupid Cupid and Maison De Loup. Maison did such a phenomenal job on this novella. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
My favorite quote from this book was:
“Never. You are mine, and I am yours,” I say, kissing her face all over. “Always.” Aurora says, kissing me back.
First, I’d like to thank Maison De Loup and Twisted Chaos PR for the gifted epub copy in exchange for my honest review!
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My Thoughts: The Uncupid Cupid may be a short, quick read but it also held so much value to it! We all know the lore of cupids and Aphrodite and the whole theory of love but what happens when a Cupid starts to see the bad side of a love arrow? You get a whole new view on love that feels so relatable that you can’t help but wonder if love is truly what you are feeling whenever you are with someone.
I absolutely loved Aurora in this story. I love that she was seeing that the so called “love” from the love arrow didn’t truly set the tone for real love. It was mostly lust that when the lust starts to fade, the couples involved are left with nothing but bad feelings as they are still fighting against the love arrows magic. I loved that with aurora’s unlove arrow, it gave couples the chance to have a clear mind and the ability to have productive conversations in order to see where their relationship will go now that they aren’t under the spell. Seeing aurora do research to see if her unlove arrow is needed felt like a great way to send help to people who feel stuck in a relationship that they do not know if they are truly happy in. Sometimes we all need an outside view in order to see if things are truly the best for us and for that I appreciate Aurora’s perspective of love.
The complete opposite of aurora, is our MMC, Rowan. He isn’t just a normal person, he is a person that happens to be able to see Aurora even when her invisibility cloak is on. I love that he is determined to learn more about her and her views on love and how he wants to change her thoughts. Their banter is so fun to read and I loved seeing aurora finally have a chance to have something for herself when it comes to Rowan. With Rowan, she finds herself questioning everything she has ever thought about love and I love that she was able to experience new things with the sweet baker that she met on one of her job assignments.
It was cozy, sweet, spicy and just overall a good vibe. Perfect for the month of February and if you are just looking for a light hearted read to make you smile. There is a second book in this series coming out that I am curious about as well and will definitely have to check it out!
Okay but can we talk about how absolutely adorable this novella was?
We follow Aurora — aka the UnCupid Cupid — whose magical bow and arrows can literally shift the direction of a couple’s relationship. She’s out here playing emotional traffic controller, nudging hearts back on course… all while not believing in love herself. The irony? Delicious.
Enter Rowan. Handsome. Café owner. And apparently immune to the whole “I’m magically invisible” thing.
The moment Rowan spots Aurora when she absolutely should not be seen? I was hooked. Aurora is understandably shook, and Rowan? Completely stunned. Their banter leans into that playful annoyance , you know the kind where every sarcastic comment is laced with tension and a sassy comeback. You can feel the spark building even when Aurora is fighting it with everything she has.
And that’s what I loved most. Aurora doesn’t believe in love anymore. She’s disillusioned, guarded, and determined to keep her heart out of the equation. But Rowan? Rowan is steady. Persistent in the softest way. He doesn’t bulldoze her walls; he gently challenges them. Watching him chip away at her disbelief while their feelings slowly, undeniably grow was chef’s kiss.
It’s sweet. It’s magical. It’s full of heart. And it wraps you up in that cozy, hopeful feeling that maybe love really is worth the risk.
A super cute, season-of-love novella that will absolutely leave you rooting for that happily ever after everyone deserves. 💘
This is my first Cupid book I have ever read. When I think of Cupid's I think of those flying babies with arrows. The way this author describes her Cupid's makes me change my full thought process of this mythical creature. This book was so good. The way she describes each and every scene, character and feeling made me think I was living it. I can not wait to see what else this author thinks up.
Aurora- Stubborn, grumpy and full of conflicting emotions. I wanted to throttle her and hug her so much throughout this book. Her character growth in this wasn't quick, it took to time bake. (Hehehe) I really enjoyed watching her come into her other side of her self. (Her growth is definitely a must read)
Rowan- He is perfection! I honestly didn't see his other side coming!! Let's just say I was sweating! I cried for him during that one chapter, I felt his emotions and it broke me. He is the perfect man and he bakes delicious bread and pastries?! And knows how to make delicious sounding coffees!? YESS PLEASE!! Need him to be mine!!
This is definitely a must read and it will leave you filled with love after. (This isn't just mushy love either, it is full of spice)
Highly recommend this book and author!! Wonderful job on this!! All the love to this author!
Thank you Twisted Chaos PR and Maison De Loup for sending me this advance review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was so fun!
I loved seeing life from the cupid side of things, along with the good parts and the bad. The mythology that was woven in was perfect too. The handful of side characters were great, and they really added some great depth to the story along with a ton of humor.
If insta-lust soulmates is your thing, this book is totally for you. At the same time we get a lot of real romance, and watching two people work through their issues together. There is so much angst and anger, tempered with love and support.
Rowan and Aurora are very much opposite attract, and they end up being perfect for each other. Aurora is jaded, snarky, and at times downright mean. Rowan is the sweetest, softest, cinnamon roll that ever came out of an oven. The constant banter between the two of them is top notch, and the quips are often hilarious.
The spice was fantastic, and it's really fun to see Rowans dominant side come out in the bedroom. Aurora is the brattiest brat that ever bratted, and I love the combo so much!
Overall this was a great quick read that will cheer you up and make you laugh the whole way though!
This was such a cute story that I did not see coming!
Uncupid Cupid is the story of Rowan and Aurora. Aurora is a Cupid, but not the happy, cheerful kind. Aurora is the Uncupid Cupid, a grumpy angry Cupid, she does not make people fall in love, she sees where love is a burden and uses unlove arrows to break the connection of an expired love arrow.
While Aurora is out working, Rowan sees Aurora shoot an arrow and rushes after the person, but how can he see her? Rowan owns a bakery and sees Aurora through the window and thinks she is the most beautiful thing he has ever seen, then he sees her shoot an arrow towards one of his customers and rushes to him. Aurora is dumbfounded that Rowan can see her, even with her invisibility magic. Aurora sets out to learn how Rowan can see her and Rowan makes it his mission to court Aurora.
This is a cute story of love that happens when Aurora is not looking for it and does her best to avoid it. It is a slow burn romance with some elements of darker subjects amongst side characters. I recommend this for romance readers who like a little spice and some angst but check the TW just in case.
In The Uncupid Cupid by Maison De Loup, the author delivers a sophisticated reimagining of Greek mythology by replacing traditional tropes with a compelling, grounded narrative. The story follows Aurora, a cynical "Uncupid" who severs expired romantic bonds, and Rowan, a charismatic baker with the rare ability to see past her magic. This subversive premise creates a powerful exploration of vulnerability and the fear of intimacy. The novel excels through its nuanced character development, particularly the "grumpy-versus-sunshine" dynamic. Aurora’s evolution is patient and earned, while Rowan offers a surprising blend of sweetness and commanding emotional depth. Balanced by immersive prose and a touch of angst, this slow-burn romance is an excellent choice for readers seeking a mature, character-driven take on modern mythology. Please note that this story contains mature themes and elements of spice; readers are encouraged to consult the content warnings for depictions of darker subject matter. Thank you to the author for providing an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book had me booked from the very beginning. It was such a good read in my opinion. Our MMC is such a sweet cinnamon roll. I couldn’t get enough of him. Our FMC was grumpy and cynical. It was refreshing to see the rolls reversed from what I typically get. Aurora and Rowan are amazing for each other. The connection and chemistry between them was sweet but spicy too. It felt like a genuine connection. The banter and sass these two have is amazing and gets you really invested in their relationship. Rowan has me so locked in. I need him to get everything he wanted and deserved. Aurora is utterly disillusioned with love. She’s seen the heartbreak and pain that comes from love ending and so she truly believes love is a lie. Rowan is a romantic - believing in fate and love with such certainty. Rowan works to break down the barriers Aurora put up, not with force but with effort and vulnerability of his own. The ways these two grow and change together is endearing and the ending was everything I wanted for them.
I adored this novella! I'm pretty sure Aurora is my spirit animal haha. Absolutely loved her grumpiness and foul mouth.
The idea of an Uncupid Cupid was brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed the exploration of the fact that sometimes couples need a little help ending things and moving on. The incorporation of Greek mythology into present day was neat and it was fun seeing the deities mixing among the humans.
Rowan was the sweetest and swooniest cinnamon roll of an MMC. His character was the perfect match to go against Aurora's anti-love stance. Their story was sweet, spicy, and emotional. Aurora had so many reasons not to believe in love with the weight of all that she sees with her work as the UnCupid, which was heart wrenching. But watching their love story unfold was truly special.
Definitely recommend for any romance reader!
Thanks to Twisted Chaos PR for the gifted copy. All opinions are my own!
I love me some black cat energy, but pair it with a dom cinnamon roll?? Forget it 🫠
I also loved the concept of a Cupid not believing in love and working to help couples where the love arrow had expired.
It was also a fun, light take on Greek gods/ goddesses. They are there, part of the story but not THE story. I enjoyed that.
Then you have Rowan. He's a bundle of sunshine, dipped in whipped cream and sprinkles. He's sweet. Kind. And an incredible baker, like for reals, can he bake for me??
After their unlikely meeting, the story slowly unfolds. How he can see her with through her invisibility, how their connection grows, both emotionally and physically (oh boy does our cinnamon roll know how to command attention).
A cute and fun, but emotionally deep book about a Cupid who doesn't believe in love.
Aurora is the uncupid cupid. As in, she fires the unlove arrow into unhappy people whose love arrow has expired. Rowan is the local baker, who can see her when she should be invisible, which makes for a very amusing first meeting.
The spice… we got plenty before we even got to their spice! Phew… The self-pleasure was sizzling!
The bunny thing made me giggle, and the fact he carried it the entire way through amused me. He’s a sweetie, but he’s dominant in the bedroom, kitchen, well… wherever he wants to get her naked.
I wasn’t expecting the emotional aspects, but they made the book. Aurora wasn’t hurt in the traditional way, but she was primed to see the dark side, and it created some angst….
A great read - and the bonus epilogue gives us an intro to book 2, and if the MMC is who I think he is… I can’t wait!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this story! Tons of snorting laughter and heart wrenching moments, and oh baby the 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️!!!!!!!!!
How does a Cupid who doesn’t believe in love find “the one” Well it all starts with coffee and baked goods! Aurora and Rowen are a match made in opposites hell! She’s a grumpy caffeine addict whose use of colorful language should be something we all strive for lol. Yes a cinnamon roll with a special side to him. Will she be able to put aside her years of conditioned beliefs about much love is stupid and doesn’t exist to realize it’s right before her eyes? Will he be able to soften that sour puss enough to let him in? Wonderful take on a Cupid love story.
This book is a rollercoaster ride! I haven't fully laughed out loud while reading in ages. It's hilarious, sweet, and spicy with the perfect blend that keeps you on the edge of your seat, just begging for more.
This book is the most fun I've had reading all year so far. I was happily along for the ride just having a great time and pleasantly shocked while reading.
This book has a TON, and I mean an absolute ton of profanity that made my entire year and make me laugh so hard. The amount of profanity was top tier for me.
I can't recommend this book enough. I had an absolute blast while reading.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy and am sharing my honest review based on my personal experience.
This book was every bit sweet as it was spicy. I really loved reading this one. I am going to be giving this one 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Aurora, a Cupid who has spent centuries cutting the bonds of broken relationships, believes that love is nothing more than a lie. Her job is to sever ties between couples that aren’t properly matched. Rowan is a ball of sunshine who believes in everything love has to offer.
This book really made all the emotions happen for me. I laughed, I cried, and I felt everything in between. From the very first page, the chemistry between our main characters was undeniable. Their connection was magnetic, and the way their relationship unfolded kept me wanting more and more. I loved reading this book. The pacing was great and I would say a pretty easy read.
The ending is where the .5 gets lost. The story does leave a few lingering questions that keep the .5 from earning a full 5-star rating. While the ending goes out with a bang (literally they bang), it wraps up in a way that left me wanting more. There are some unanswered questions about the reality of how they will be able to truly live their lives with one of them being a mortal and the other being immortal. Don’t get me wrong I truly enjoyed the book but I just wish some more of my questions were answered.
In conclusion, is this a sweet, spicy, and emotionally charged romance that will tug at your heartstrings, leaving you questioning everything you thought you knew about love. This is book gets my full recommendation/
I just devoured The Uncupid Cupid and it’s totally AH-MAZING! Imagine a Cupid, falling head over heels for a baker who is a 6’3” cinnamon roll with a dominant side! The characters are refreshingly real—regular-sized, around my age, and far from the usual super-thin YA crowd.
The amount of curse words Aurora uses, her grumpy nature, and her love of coffee, made the main character feel like I was reading a story about me or my best friend. Plus, the smut was smutting and I had to take a breather after one of the scenes, because…damn. 🥵
The heartfelt acknowledgments at the end? Super sweet!
A quirky, unconventional romance that’s as fun as it is spicy—highly recommend!
The UnCupid Cupid is book one of the Myths In Love Series.
This was an absolutely adorable read. I just loved the connection between Rowan and Aurora. Aurora is a Cupid but instead of just making people fall in love, she also makes people fall out of love when their relationship has run its course. She sees the good and bad of love and is kind of a grumpy individual as she sees the negativity of her job. When she meets Rowan, they have such a connection that their fate together is undeniable. I loved how Rowan was such a cinnamon roll and he worked so hard to make Aurora happy and loved. This was an ultra cute read and I loved every moment of it.
The Uncupid Cupid by Maison De Loup was such a cute, cozy romance that I ended up really enjoying. The spice was definitely spicy 🌶️, but it still kept that warm, comforting tone that makes you want to curl up and keep reading.
My favorite part was the FMC’s growth - watching her go from a stone-hearted, love-averse Cupid to someone learning to accept love herself felt refreshing and satisfying. And the mythology references were *chef’s kiss*. I’m always a sucker for mythology woven into romance, and this delivered!
Overall, this was a fun, heartfelt read with great chemistry and just the right amount of heat.

The UnCupid Cupid is the first book I've read by Maison De Loup and I have to say that I was not disappointed! I very much enjoyed this book. I loved the concept of a Cupid that didn't believe in love. This book was definitely about patience and self growth, as well as, learning how some times we manifest our own downfalls, and if we're willing to look beyond all the negativity that things aren't always terrible.
Thank you Maison and Twisted Chaos for giving me a chance to read this book. It was different from my usual reads, but I quite enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. I can't wait for book 2!
I always love grumpy x sunshine, especially when there’s a reason for the grumpiness. Aurora has seen her fair share of failed love, so it makes sense she doesn’t believe in it anymore. She saw the worst love can offer and wrote it all off. I loved her twist at the end.
Rowan was incredible. He was kind, patient and totally obsessed with his Cupid. He knew that Aurora would challenge him but he welcomed it.
Definitely give this book a try!
🍪 Grumpy x sunshine (she’s the grumpy one) 💘 He falls first 🍪 Human baker x demi love goddess 💘 Fated mates 🍪 Forced proximity 💘 Mythology
“Never. You are mine, and I am yours,” I say, kissing her face all over. “Always.” Aurora says, kissing me back.
Aurora is my soul on paper. She is exactly me and everything I feel although I must say she even out coffees me. And Rowan is someone every human needs. The calm, loving, strong there for you type. Black cat energy paired with a cinnamon roll. And don’t let the sweet cover fool you, it’s a very spicy book!
A fantastic book and I love when a debut novel knocks it out of the park! I’m excited to read what comes next from this author!!!
This story was so stinking cute! I absolutely fell in love with Rowan before Aurora did. I mean come on! A happy sunshine baker who makes a mean cup of coffee, what’s not to love? But I also fell in love with Aurora. She called to my practical side, the side that says not all “lust” is meant to last forever. It was easy to see where she was coming from. I adored how Rowan was so patient with her and really listened. Can’t wait to see more from this author!
So cute! I adore the premise of a jaded and grumpy Cupid cleaning up after her brethren. Aurora and Rowan are absolutely delightful and watching their growth starting at polar opposites was so fun. I loved the exploration of emotions, the dance between love and our darker feelings, and the idea that we can manifest and draw them to us.
I’d love to see more of these two, and this author’s works! Thank you for the review copy and the chance to share my review!
This is a super fun, fast-paced and unique story! What happens when a cupid is jaded about love 💘 and spends her life ending relationships? And what happens if a kind, patient (yet d0minant) cinnamon roll baker threatens everything you thought you hated about love?! READ THIS TO FIND OUT >>> packed with YEARNING and TENSION and SPICE 🥵 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🌶️🌶️ it’s a short novella perfect for valentine’s day but a great read all year round.
I was hooked from the very first page. The romance was soft and sweet, but layered with just enough angst to keep me fully invested, and the emotional moments added so much depth. The spice was perfectly done.
This was a quick, feel good read that will have you smiling, laughing, and completely entertained from start to finish.
Thank you to Maison De Loup and Twisted Chaos PR for this great ArC read.
This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed the read.
Our Cupid FMC is a tough cookie but very cynical and paired with our cinnamon roll mmc, the duo are perfection. This is a sweet but angsty read, with a good dose of spice and emotion.
I will definitely be looking for more from this author. Great pace, easy read and good story.
Sweets, spice and everything nice. I really liked this book. I was hooked from the first page of angry toe stubbing. Aurora and Rowan were perfect together. Definitely pulled me through all the emotions. The MC’s chemistry is undeniable from the get go. Love Rowan and so happy him and Aurora got an HEA. Definitely recommend.
