Samuel Remington has always lived a life of privilege, where charm and success smoothed every obstacle in his path. To him, the world is a game he always wins—until one reckless wager changes everything. On a dare, Samuel sets his sights on Andrea Brookes, a quiet, unassuming girl he never would have noticed otherwise. Compared to his dazzling girlfriend Erica, Andrea is invisible, a pawn to settle a meaningless bet. But what starts as a cruel joke leaves a scar on Andrea neither of them can erase.
Five years later, Andrea—now known as Andi—is no longer the shy, forgettable girl Samuel once toyed with. She’s transformed into a confident woman, bold and unapologetically herself. When their paths cross again, Samuel doesn’t recognize her as the girl he tormented in high school. Eventually he’s confronted with the man he was back then and the damage he caused. As Andi forces him to reckon with his past, Samuel is haunted by feelings he never expected—and the stirrings of a connection he can’t ignore.
But Andi’s heart is no longer Samuel’s to toy with. The hurt runs deep, and her newfound strength is both a shield and a barrier. As old wounds resurface and unexpected emotions blossom, the two must navigate a fraught journey of forgiveness, redemption, and the fragile hope of a second chance. Can Samuel prove he’s no longer the careless boy who broke her heart? And will Andi dare to believe in the chance at love that once almost shattered her?

Well written, full of betrayal, hurt, action, forgiveness, drama, emotions, twist, PTSD and a second chance. Betrayal and pain are to very hard to forget and forgive. You may feel that you are getting better, then something happens and it send you right back to the trauma you had. Some second chances work but there will always be a time when it comes back to your mind and heart. And then your pain is back again. Samuel and Andrea were in high school together. He was popular and she was a nerd. On a bet , he starts to pay attention to Andrea, only for her to find out that it was all a mean joke, funny to them. Shocked and hurt by this treatment, she would never let it happen again in her life. Years later they meet up ans she is now Andi, a totally different person. They both have strong feelings for the other but the PTSD she experienced is still there. Has some triggers but is a special story of how people treat each other when young or old then realize their mistake they made. A very strong story for all. Would recommend to everyone.

Second Chances are sometime all you get and with our two we learn that time sometime heal wounds, but it takes a lot more than time because some wounds are too deep to actually heal. Samuel sexy as all get out most popular kid in high school, he and his friends they would draw straws whomever drew the shot straw had to pick the nerdiest girl inn school and pretend to like to make her do something than laugh at her making her the joke. Audrea was sweet never really paid attention to those around her spent most of her time in the library so when the most popular boy reach out to her wanting to be friends, asking her out, hanging out with her, bringing her around the popular kids and then convincing her to jump off the bridge as a joke that sent her into a downward spiral diminishing her already low self-esteem. For them it was a joke, a laugh but for her it ruined her. Fast forward years and she is no longer Andrea but Andi and instant attraction but she never really lets her walls down expecting to hurt her despite them getting close in fact they can’t stay away from each other, he even breaks off his engagement to high school sweetheart due to drug abuse among other reason but when truth of who she really is comes will he accept his part in making her who she forcing her to become the personality that she has, will he understand the damage he caused, will she truly forgive him, can they get over their hurt to see what right in front of them, and will they find a way to happiness despite all they have to go through to have that second chance?
Ok I think it was a much better story than the first two books. And there were some bits where I was very frustrated with Andi and her choices, and there are still typos and some storyline issues, but overall it wasn’t as frustrating.
I don’t understand how the prank Samuel pulled was so awful - or why Andi felt so embarrassed. They jumped together, and then Erica teases her and they all laugh. It didn’t seem as horrible as Andi made it out to be. I’ve read some bully romances that had some horrid, embarrassing pranks played, some cruel, and just sickening. This, I just don’t get. So I feel like Andi really blew this out of proportion, greatly. They were high schoolers and a group of popular kids picked her to jump off a rock into the lake. She did it, didn’t lose her top, didn’t vomit, I don’t know why she didn’t just own it.
But then Andi starts her lies. And I got it at first, but eventually, I wanted to slap Andi for her stupidity of not telling Samuel.
There were timing issues where the author doesn’t properly write in time passing. Andi gets in the car, asks how long the drive will take, Samuel says probably more than 45 min, Samuel’s mom calls and he tells her they’re almost at the cabin. So the timing sucks, and the author needs to put a page break or make a statement like, 30minutes later or something so it doesn’t throw off the story.
Anyway overall, the romance was mostly lust and sex, with a sprinkle of getting to know each other. But I still think the author did a better job this time than the earlier books where she was attempting historical romance.
This book is a rollercoaster of emotions that had my heart racing from the beginning to the end of this story. It begins with a cruel prank that leaves Andi devastated with a hardened heart. She builds up her resolve and becomes a changed woman and her next encounter with Samuel sets them along their path. This epic story is about love, loss and second chances on a path that is raw, candid, and imperfect. Do Samuel and Andi have what it takes to move beyond the past and get their second chance for happiness.

Samuel and Andi. They have history. A bad history that only, hypothetically, a jock and nerd can have in high school. Also think popular guy and nerdy girl and a bet. Years later when they met again its different. This is an amazing story well written with lovable and likable charecters with lots of chemistry not withstanding their journey filled with obsticles and challenges to overcome and how two people come together and learn to trust.

This didn't start out as a nice story. But years later when she went to a party with a friend she saw him again. He didn't realize who she was so she gave him a made up name. Life became a mixture of hidden secrets and lust. Or was it love. It became a great story.
I enjoyed melting his heart which was Samuel and Andrea’s story. It was an engaging and intriguing read. And was book Four of The Remington Series. I got a copy of the book and voluntarily leaving this review.
After being humiliated by her high school crush, Samuel, Andrea vows that she’ll never let anyone get close enough to hurt her again. Years later, she’s now known as Andi and, when she runs into Samuel, he doesn’t recognize her. Their mutual attraction is obvious but Andi refuses to trust him and besides, he’s engaged to his high school girlfriend. Drama follows as Andi keeps her identity a secret from Samuel and his fiancé spirals into uncontrollable addiction. I wasn’t really sure, at first, if I was going to like the MMC in this book. He’s mean to the MFC in the first chapter and then, we find out that he has a fiancé. There’s quite a bit going on, and you may want to check the trigger warnings if you’re sensitive to some issues but it ends up being quite an engaging story. It hooked me from the first page and before I knew it, I was reading the satisfying, happy ending.
