I wanted to read something out of my comfort zone, so I picked up this dark romance trilogy of novellas. CurVy13, CurVy Forever, and CurVy Baby, have lots of content warnings, so please take care when reading. The novellas are not standalones and should be read in order.
The first novella was the most disturbing to me since things start off aggressively and there are scenes of physical violence and non-consensual/dubcon sex. It has the most plot of the three novellas though and introduces most of the main characters. You also get a feel for each of their personalities.
Novella two keeps things moving and brings in more kink, but there wasn’t really a plot besides introducing the third brother, Dexter, and exploring the dynamic between all of the brothers. The final novella was the weakest in my opinion, and was slow paced and unnecessarily long. It mainly revolved around getting Vallie pregnant and the brothers figuring out how to get along. I'm all for sharing, but it did feel a bit odd at times with all three brothers and Vallie together and the siblings helping one another get to the finish line. It started to feel like the author was just trying to check the remaining kink boxes and then wrap everything up with a bow.
The narration by Leo Barnabas, Angelina Rocca, and Troy Duran was quite enthusiastic *blushes* and having several narrators helped bring the story to life. It also made it easy to tell which POV we were in. I enjoyed all of the narrators, but Leo Barnabas was especially great voicing both Tyler and Donnie. He captured their different personalities so well and made them each very distinct.

It’s a complete trilogy in one read 😊
It starts off with one of our masked MMCs sat watching our FMC, stalking her everywhere. To the point he enters her house and 🍇 her, he explains why he is there before his brother is brought in. The story progresses through what happens to them prior to the third brother making an appearance. There’s a lot happening but the story flows through actions and consequences. Is it Stockholm Syndrome? 🤔
Suffice to say, there’s smut, there’s a lot of smut, there are three guys and a lovely curvy lady. There story though it was darkish (mask, non con, primal, 🔪, alpha male, dominant, golden retriever, violence etc.) it wasn’t as dark as a lot of other books I’ve read, in fact it was mild however, I still enjoyed it and made better that it ran through from one to the other without having to wait or change to the next book 🤣

Didn’t like one of the mmc’s effing a hooker after meeting the fmc 🤷♀️ I wasn’t sold on feeling like they were all actually in love either. fmc was a SUPER doormat. like, what you mean your man smells like another woman and you just let it go?? what 🤡

Nicci Harris has a chokehold on my tbr list as well as the time I spend reading. This trilogy starts with a bang when Vallie, the curvy heroine, meets the Vaughn brothers Donnie and Tyler. Dubious consent and spice commence pretty quickly as the brothers manipulate Vallie for their diabolical plan. I won’t share details that will spoil it for others, but let me say, I was shocked to learn the truth.
Nicci has penned a why choose romance that is beautiful, spicy, sweet at times but filled with epic moments that were beautiful twists to the plot. Vallie is my favorite heroine at the moment. She’s not a dish rag. She has backbone, compassion, intelligence and tact. The Vaughn brothers are the perfect trio of book boyfriends.

This was basically spice sprinkled with plot. So I guess you can call me one of the booktok bitches because I loved this.

This trilogy was wild and had some genuine laugh out loud moments. A scene in the last chapter of the trilogy literally made me choke on my dinner I was laughing so hard.
It did start out on a very dark note with a couple non-con scenes but quickly moves the plot along where you get to know the characters and their motivations and doesn’t remain super dark.
I liked Vallie, she’s called curvy but by her description she just seems like a normal healthy woman with normal “flaws” like some cellulite and a slightly squishy stomach…things most of us have. Her self consciousness was something I appreciated and her coping are things I have struggled with throughout my life.
Tyler was really well written, I loved the way Harris intertwined his insanity with his talent for music and the tragedy that lead to his inevitable mental break. I feel like the way he was written makes it seem that he was always a bit different but, due to childhood trauma, he has a pretty severe mental break that leads to him perpetually being in an almost innocent/naive state.
Secondary character Kathleen is an absolute hoot and now how unbothered I want to be when I’m in my 70’s.
I think Harris could have spent some more time developing Donnie and Dexter a bit more but we got to know their motivations and why they are the way they are.
Please note: this author is from the UK so some slag and names will be different like arse, nickers, and car park. I know some others commented on the use of arse being distracting but I think this was more due to their unfamiliarity with the word.
Overall it was a good time and I finished this book in 2 days because I wanted to see what happened next.

The combination of Angelina Rocca and Troy Duran was the perfection that I didn’t know I needed in my life. I need to see if they performed any other books together EXPEDITIOUSLY. Their smoky voices are sooooo smooth! Makes me want to listen while sipping on a glass of whisky. Leo Barnabas was fantastic as Donnie and Tyler. I loved how he played the twins so differently. It made listening to this audiobook such a pleasure.

This is a Fantastic collection. Each of these books individually is an anazing read, but put them all together in one collection and you have one awesome collection that you will not be disappointed by. These books move along at a pace that works excellent for the the flow of each story. The characters wow, they are hot, sexy, determined, caring and everything else in between that you cannot help but love them, You will not be disappointed by these books and they must be read, No doubt about it. A must read.

Love love love, this book. I know they are technically novellas but I read all in one go so felt like a full novel. These characters are complex yet relateable, this is super spicy❤️🔥. usually struggle with RH but this was beautifully done and yes I fell for all the brothers Tyler ,Donnie & Dexter all brought something to the table & Vallie completed them. Just because they are sharing doesnt mean they are no jealous moments which i absolutely loved by the way because it shed more light to the characters personalities.Complete HEA guaranteed.

The guy's meet her in different ways but learn to all come together in the end. Kathleen is absolutely halarious and I loved that she makes an appearance all the way through this storyline. I really enjoyed getting to listen to this trilogy, the Narrator's- Troy, Angelina and Leo did an amazing job bringing voice to everyone. I can not wait to see what we get next from Nicci.

🎧I had already read these as single books but was excited to revisit by audio.
You know how you have certain lines or parts in a book that are your favorite and when they hit audio a narrator can make or break them? Well thank God my favorite Tyler line is perfect😂 Book 2, "love you freestyle" at like 54% I believe. Will never not crack me tf up.
4⭐because I still don't like Dex that much and all the kids involved.

uhm yeah I def thought this was going to be different. The first Novella was sooo rushed from having a stalker r😈pe her to wanting more and wanting brother nr 2. sleeping in a dog cage with brother nr 2 while she is a juror in a court case against brother nr 3. falling in love with them all, marrying brother nr 1 for the sake of adoption and more. book 2 and 3 was slower with more info and detail but I truly finished just for the sake of finishing

Sooo, you read this mostly just for the smut, as the plot is not the main focus. With saying that, it was the plot that made it so I didn't DNF this early in. I did however end up DNFing at the third book, when I felt my curiosity had been sated. Had to skim through some of it, as yeah, a lot of smut. I liked the characters though, just wish there had been a bit more depth to everything. Not quite for me.

It took me a bit at the beginning to get into it but then I fell for Tyler and the rest is history.

Althought smutty, I only got through the first 10 chapters before loosing all interest. It was very much instant into the 'action' so to speak and the fmc didn't have much consistency to her in my opinion. Same with the MMC's just being derange and dominant and that was about it from the get go.
