Andre Ferraro is everything I despise—arrogant, ruthless, and far too handsome for his own good. I’d rather marry anyone else in the world, but my sick mother needs hope, my family needs the Ferraro fortune, and my brother needs allies to seek vengeance for my brother and father’s deaths. There’s no way for me to get out of this marriage to Andre unless I want to put the burden on my younger sister. The crazy thing is, I don’t want Andre, but I don’t want anyone else to have him either.
Stella Rovina has been my obsession since the moment I laid eyes on her, and now, she’s going to be my wife. When she offers me the deal of a lifetime—fake love for her grieving mother in exchange for one unforgettable night—I can’t resist. One night will never be enough for me, though. I don’t want just her body; I want her heart, her soul, her to be mine forever. But I’m hiding a secret that could shatter her world. If she uncovers the truth, our marriage won’t just end—it’ll burn everything to the ground.
Lane Hart is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, D.B. West, and their two children. She loves all things beach related, especially sea turtles, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers.
Soooo Gooood! This has everything we love in a dark Mafia read: Betrayal, intrigue, and tested loyalties, alongside strong male leads protecting their spouses, addictive plots, intense romantic chemistry, violence, thrilling revelations, and acts of vengeance.
This is the second book in the series, and I was thrilled to continue this storyline. Theirs is a world of violence, betrayals, danger and lies that is addictive and easy to get lost in.
As we learned from Creed and Zara’s book, Stella’s Dad was a heartless, evil man. Now that his father is gone, Saint needs the alliance created by Stella’s wedding to Andre to help him lead the family. However, everything comes with a cost, and Stella is reluctantly accepting this union for her family’s sake. Secrets, however, came to light, revealing her father’s actions to be far worse than she’d imagined.
Andre has been in love with Stella for years and knows better than to underestimate his new wife; she’s as fierce and dangerous as they come. She rebukes his care and affection at every turn, and is completely uninterested in any closeness with her new husband - or is she? *wink* Regrettably, she holds trauma and secrets that will create issues for him and his family. I loved the passions of this couple, and their steamy connection was fantastic.
I couldn’t put this book down; the twists and turns kept me hooked until the very end. It is critical to read the series in order, so that the connections and events make sense. Being a long-time fan, I wholeheartedly recommend this book, series, and any others by this author. Her characters have a special place in my heart, and I can not WAIT for the next story in this series.
I received a complimentary ARC (thank you), and happily leave this review.
This second installment of this series was a great read that I had a hard time putting down.
This second installment picked up where the first book left off. We get Andre and Stella's story - an enemies to lovers tale that was a great read. Andre has been pining after Stella for years but she won't give him the time of day until the day comes that she is forced into not a date but a marriage with Andre to save her family's business and finances. She entered the arranged marriage still hating Andre's family and was determined to prove that they had something to do with the death of her father and disappearance of her brother all while taking care of her dying mother and working through demons of her own. What she does not expect is to have amazing chemistry between herself and Andre while eventually falling in love with him.
Andre has wanted Stella for years and what better way to get what he wants than to enter an arranged marriage with her to keep the peace with the families and keep secrets that could tear everything apart while starting a mafia war at the same time. He is also working at keeping himself out of prison for the gun charges that he and his family have been fighting since the first book. What he does not expect is that he will do whatever it takes to keep Stella safe and build a life with her as he started to fall in love with her despite how difficult she has been with their relationship.
The characters from the first book return in this book while Andre and Stella's story takes place at the end of the first book. Their story moved along well and had me hooked to see what happens next. I enjoyed seeing a different side of Andre especially when he was building a relationship with Stella by getting advice from her dying mother. Andre was not what I was expecting in an Alpha male character that he was but I loved him just the same. I thought at first that Stella was spoiled but as the story progressed I liked her even more than at the start especially when one learned what she had been through to make her the way that she was.
There was a lot going on in the plot of this story but one is able to follow along as long as they have read the first book of the series so that they are familiar with events from the previous book that spill over into this book. There was also a lot of events that take place in this book that are not resolved but are keeping me on the hook to see who gets the next book in the series and where the series will go next.
Overall, this was a great read that I enjoyed from start to finish. I would recommend this book and series to others.
Cruel Little GamesLane Hart Cruel Little Games ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 The second book in the boxed set definitely picked up the pace, and I loved it. The banter alone had me giggling more than once. This is Andre and Stella’s story, and their dynamic was everything. Andre has been obsessed with Stella for years, so when the arranged marriage becomes a reality, he is absolutely thrilled—even though Stella very much is not. Her hatred toward his family runs deep, and once you learn why, it’s completely justified. Stella is no damsel in distress; she’s tough as nails, sharp-tongued, and fiercely independent. Andre is patient with her because he suspects trauma, but what I really appreciated is that he doesn’t let her get away with everything either. That balance? Chef’s kiss 😊 He’s steady, protective, and quietly devoted in a way that really worked for me. And can we talk about Stella’s mom? What an absolute treasure. Her storyline was heartbreaking yet beautiful—she’s dying of cancer and has chosen to forgo further treatment, and the way that was handled added so much emotional depth to the book. The looming gun-charge trial continues to creep closer, and it feels very much like groundwork is being laid for Tristan’s story… and I cannot wait. My only real heart-tugging moment was Andre not being fully honest with Stella about his family dynamics. I understand why he did it—he didn’t want to hurt her—but it still stung a little. Overall, this installment delivered humor, emotional weight, strong characters, and just enough intrigue to leave me eager for what’s next. I am really hoping there will be a Kai and Cami story

I've said this before, but I will keep saying it... I love this author, and her books continue to be my favorites. Lane Hart is an amazing author that writes not only amazing MC books, but also freaking awesome and dark Mafia books. She knows what she's doing, and her books just show us it. Cruel Little Games is her latest release and it's the second book from the New York City Mafia series. Have you read? I advise you to do so, or else you won't understand this book. This book explores the lives of Andre and Stella. Andre is not only the Capo of Tuti Capo's cousin but also his lawyer. He's ruthless as they come but has a soft heart for only one woman...Stella Rovina. She's his cousin demands he marries Stella... Stella is obligated to marry Andre, the cousin of the family she hates. She blames the family for her father and brother's deaths. What started as an obligation with demands... OMG... This book... What the hell? This story was brutal, just like I thought it would be, and so, so hot. One minute she's trying to kill him, and in the next she's jumping his bones. I love the fact that Stella isn't a damsel in distress; oh no, she's as ruthless as they come and a bit unhinged. She doesn't take shi*** from no one, and you don't even think of crossing her. And Andre is not a choir boy, no, no, he's hot as hell and has a mouth... Loved the way the story progressed. Loved the glimpses I got of the other chapters from the previous book, and I loved even more the hints that were given regarding the next books from this series... If, by any chance, you are thinking you're going to get rainbows and flowers, think again. You'll get a storm as well as a hurricane. These two are perfect in every imperfect way. What a masterpiece this was. Perfection Lane Hart. Now I'm left wanting to get more, so I ask, please, don't take too long.
Cruel Little Games is the second installment in the NYC Mafia Series, featuring Andre Ferraro and Stella Rovina and the ongoing plot from book #1. Leave it to Lane to create the messiest of all messes, enganging her readers and making them crave more! Everything is pretty much chaotic after the events in book one and, to divert attention, it's time for Andre Ferrara to take one for the team entering a very convenient arranged marriage with none other than the chick he has the hots for, Stella Rovina, reluctant, angry, spitting fire, war and mayhem. OMG! these two...so hot for each other and Stella resisting as much as she craves! I absolutely loved her reaction to Dre's baits, so irritated and jumping his bones like a woman possessed! Dre didn't complain but that tiny bit of insecurity kept creeping in, not knowing if it was just physical or something more that would, hopefully, lead to all. The win came when, assertively, he put her in her place and she simply complied..... Hum...irrevocanily each other's! Serious revelations came to light and Dre was a man on a mission. For those who dared, some were already rotting in h€ll, and others with a bull's eye in a shade of red vengeance. A very energetic narrative you can't help turning the pages and absorving all the signals for what comes next! The Ferraros did start the mess causing a chain reaction that keeps the mess growing and expanding, now with a fight to contend with in two fronts, getting the charges to drop and avoid jail time, which Tristan is in charge of....for some time now.... and retrieving Camilla Rovina from a ravenous Kai Sanna....or is he? That ravenous?.... And Tristan.....that one might be in a mess of his own....one I can’t wait to applaud and root for!
Stella is the love of Andre’s life but she doesn’t want to have anything to do with him or any other Ferraro. But her twin brother Saint, who’s now head of their family brokers a marriage agreement between her and Andre now that Creed is happily married. Stella and her younger sister Cami spend all their time nursing their dying mother. She stopped taking all of her aggressive treatments and just wants to die peacefully at home. Stella and Saint realise that seeing one of her children married is something that they can give her, so agree to the original date set. Andre, Creed, Tristan and Lorenzo are still trying to find some way to avoid their trials by the newly appointed, squeaky clean DA. Tristan is on the case, tailing her 24/7, in an attempt to find anything to use as blackmail. Zara, Creeds wife is now in her second trimester and they’re all worried that he won’t get to see the birth of his son, or spend a minimum of three years of his life with him. But as another family head is murdered, and misinformation causes further deaths and chaos, life in the mafia is certainly never dull… The second book continues this thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining series. Stella and Andre have undeniable chemistry, but Stella is haunted by her past. Andre is a decent man who listens and acts only in Stella’s best interests. He’s been crazy about her for years, the woman that all the other men refer to as a viper. A superb second book.

After reading the first book in this series, I couldn’t wait to see what would happen between Andre and Stella, and these two characters did not disappoint!!!! The fireworks between them were *chef’s kiss* !!!
Stella and Andre shared more than their fiery attraction and mob connections. These two were also holding on to quite a few secrets, some that may seriously impact their fledgling marriage and possible destroy the potential of a happy future.
Stella and Andre had me consumed! Every interaction felt heavy with their undeniable chemistry, not to mention all they were hiding! I started out feeling somewhat indifferent towards Stella, until I learned what had happened to her. Then I understood why she had such a hard outer shell, and while I was rooting for her to find happiness, it was never at the expense of Andre’s. Andre was…captivating! I’m still fanning myself!!! He was sweet and earnest with Stella, but also strong and tough when he needed to be. He might just be my favorite mafia book bf to date! There was a twist in this book, involving one of the secrets, that I honestly didn’t expect! And it is a doozy! I can’t wait to see what happens with Tristan! While I loved, loved, looooved Andre…there’s something about Tristan’s dark side that has me eager for more!.

Crank up the A/C when you read this one as it is a hot one! This story-line is refreshing for me in that Andre is obsessed with Stella for a number of years & she has no interest in dating or marrying him. The time has come when Stella has difficult decisions to make, including whether to marry Andre in order to get answers on who killed her dad & brother. Of course, this marriage comes with conditions which I found entertaining as he’s biding his time, waiting for her to make the first move in warming up to him. He’s learned there’s something that happened in her past where she’s frightened. He doesn’t force her to open up her past to him, until she approaches him & wants to tell him.
The hardest part is falling for this handsome guy & learning the ugly truth when the pieces of the puzzle start to fit together. Can she really forgive him & his family, moving forward in life? An excellent story that is full of secrets, mysteries & a love that is so strong where no one will be able to pull them apart. He’s a great protector towards her & takes care of family business. Hopefully Book 3 will answer some questions that leave you hanging at the end of this book.

Absolutely loved this gem of a book. In fact the whole series has been awesome so far and I am eagerly waiting for the next connected standalone.
Why, you ask?
Somehow Lane Hart manages to walk this exquisite line between seriousness and fun without ever taking something away from one or the other. The subjects broached are heavy and uncomfortable but the characters are strong and feisty and their interactions are filled with banter, kindnesses and heat.
The background story arc based in mafia lore has plenty of action, betrayal and deceit to keep the pace going from the second you pick up the book and somehow all of these elements form the perfect book. Unable to put down, even in lieu of sleep, and absolutely enthralling.
Andre and Stella are the epitome of an arranged marriage, enemies to lovers trope. How he came out of this story with all appendages still attached I don’t know, but Stella definitely lives up to the nickname, Viper. And I mean that in the best possible way. She is exactly right and he is the exactly best for her. There’s no way you’re not gonna love these two!
I cannot recommend these books enough.

Cruel Little Games is the second in the New York Mafia series and it does not disappoint!
After the events of the first book, there's a lot of turmoil in the the New York underworld. Stella's family is still in the dark as to what happened to her brother and why her father made the decisions he did. Andre was part of it all but isn't talking. They make a deal to benefit both families but can they both hold on to their secrets with everything going on?
I really enjoyed reading this book. Stella and Andre are fairly relatable characters, they both have moments of hardheadedness, vulnerability, and growth. They're both family oriented, as one tends to be in the fictional Mafia setting, and that of course gets them into trouble. If you didn't read the first book, the plot would be incredibly hard to follow. But as part of the series it fits seamlessly and carries on the overarching plot lines. I did feel the book ended kind of abruptly and without consequence in regards to Cami's story. I'm *hoping* it means she's going to get her own book, otherwise it seems a little weird.
I can't wait for the next book to be released so we can see what is coming next!.

I love all Lane Harts mafia romance books - I've read the books in the Sin City Mafia and New York City Mafia series. Each book focuses on a love interest between the mafia families of NYC.
This book follows the arranged marriage between Andre Ferraro (Creed, the boss of bosses 2nd in command) and Stella Rovina, the fiesty daughter of the Rovina Italian mafia king 🤴 she's also known as the Viper.
'Stella is the only women I've ever wanted but couldn't have'.
Andre is already in love with Stella but she has knocked him back continuously over the years. Finally, the heads of the 2 households agree the marriage has to go ahead to solid relations and ensure the best future.
A very fine line between love and hate, Stella starts to melt to her new husband and realise she needs him more than she has ever needed anyone before.
If you like fast paced, dangerous mob bosses, not afraid of killings, fiesty women and happy ever afters, check this out!

Can’t say enough how much I love a good mafia romance and this one delivered on the goods. This story has so many twists and turns I got lost before it all made sense. Just the way I like it. It kept me on my toes while falling in love with the characters.
This is the story of Andre and Stella from rival mob families who are forced into an arranged marriage. Stella has no clue that Andre has been in love with her for years so it’s no hardship for him to accept the terms of the marriage. Stella however is stuck between being the dutiful mob daughter who has to marry into a family she hates and fighting the feels she is getting with the husband she is being forced to live with.
So much drama, heartache and death. It was overwhelming the emotional rollercoaster this book put me on but I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to read more of this series.

Cruel Little Games is a dark mafia enemies to lovers arranged marriage romance and is book two in the New York City Mafia series. This story picks up where Filthy Little Games left off. Andre Ferraro is obsessed with Stella Rovina and will do anything he can to show her how much he wants her in his life. Stella Rovina despises Andre but in order to help out her family and seek vengeance for her brother and father’s deaths, she agrees to the arranged marriage. When these two are together the sparks and tension is at an all time high. As the past lies and betrayals come to light, so does the intense chemistry and passion between these two. This book is full of twists, turns, and suspense and will keep you guessing until the very end! Speaking of ending, I can’t wait for Tristan’s book and to see what happens next!!
There is always a fine line between love and hate and whether you choose to cross it or not, but now Stella may have no choice but to get into bed with the enemy to get the answers she seeks. Andre has tried many times to get Stella, but to no avail she’s turned him down incessantly, now the choice is out of her hand when her brother informs her of her upcoming marriage to the one person she can’t stand and hold the answers to her father and brother's death. To be fair, Andre has loved her from afar for as long as he can remember and that’s never changed, now all he has to do is get her to fall for him and feel love for him, but that’s a tall order to fill and who knows what’s going to happen when Stella finally gets the answers she’s been waiting for. Another gripping, action packed, emotional addition to this series. I can’t wait for the next book.
I couldn't hardly out this book down, it's 5a now, as I've read all night. Dre & Stella are 2 people that were at is with each other. Andre has lusted after Stella for a while now, Stella have up men after a past ordeal but find to make her Mom hair she will marry Dre. If course the plan that's concocted goes to sh!t. Dre knows keeping secrets from his wife is bad and after one funeral when something happens to Stella's sister he lets all the less loose. Stella now knowing what's true it not chooses to now believe what she's heard, but not tell the rest of her family. Dre is there for her in heartbreaking moment & takes care of a problem of hers from 12 years earlier. What she does to guys following her, her husband, the main boss & the cousin is nothing but a high five to a Viper!!!
Stella and Andre’s story is tangled, twisted, and emotionally raw from the very first page. She’s strong, hurt, and angry at so many people. He’s determined to show her that he’s the love of her life and willing to do anything to make her happy. Mafia business is cruel, violent, and dangerous with all the families involved and their revenge for wrongs fanning the flames. I love the banter between Stella and Andre: they’re both highly intelligent and the attraction is intense. He finds her vulnerabilities and supports her with patience and understanding. Lane Hart has created an amazing world that touches my heart and keeps me on my toes with all of the problems and complexity surrounding these men and women!! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

In order for the two families to be joined Andre and Stella enter into an arranged marriage and that's when the fun and games really start hold on to the edge of your seat with all of the twists and turns. You really need to read this deliciously dark and twisted, page-turning, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, mafia romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

In Cruel Little Games by Lane Hart, Stella Rovina is forced to marry Andre Ferro, her enemy, who has loved her forever. In most mafia stories, an arrangement is used to bring an alliance between two families, and this time is no different. I liked Stella for a FMC, she was fierce, independent, and suspicious of the Ferraro family, hiding her own secrets. Andre is also an interesting character; he has a secret that he can’t tell his wife, his tie to her father’s death, but not how she thinks. The physical attraction between the two starts to blur the lines between their deal and makes Stella question a lot of things. She never stops digging to find out about the truth, and that leads to the confrontation between her and Andre. I can’t say anymore without true spoilers. Another ending is waiting for the next book to show true resolution. Such a good book!

I stayed up til 3am to finish this book. Lane's writing is top notch as usual. This story revolves around Stella and Andre. Stella and Andre's father arranged their marriage before Stella's fathers death. Andre has loved her since the first time he ever laid eyes on her and she wanted nothing to do with him or his family. She goes thru with the marriage to help her brother and mother financially.
There are lot of twists, turns and secrets revealed in this book. I don't want to tell more of the story because I want everyone to read it. You won't be sorry. I can't wait for the next book Twisted Little Games to come out.

This is a continuation of the NYC Mafia story. Dre Ferraro (Andre) is Creed's cousin and second in command. He has been in love with Stella Rovina for years, although she hates anyone Ferraro. Dre "assisted" Stella's father's suicide at the end of the first book, Filthy Little Games. He was an evil man but still her father. To join the families, Dre and Stella are married in an arranged agreement. That's when the roller-coaster story starts. This is an exciting and thrilling book, with a perfect set-up for the next book, featuring Tristan, Dre's cousin, and the DA who is planning to prosecute Creed, Dre and Tristan for weapons possession. I definitely recommend this book.
Dark, addictive, and full of tension, Cruel Little Games is a mafia romance that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. Stella and Andre are explosive together—equal parts enemies, lovers, and reluctant allies. Their chemistry is undeniable, but it's the slow unraveling of emotion, power plays, and dangerous secrets that makes this story unforgettable.
Stella’s strength and vulnerability are beautifully balanced, and Andre is the perfect mix of obsession, danger, and unexpected tenderness. Lane Hart weaves a twisted tale of love, revenge, and family loyalty that kept me hooked until the last page.

This was an amazing book to read it was one I couldn’t put down, the story was written well and the characters were sensational. This story was about Andre Ferraro and Stella Rovina, Stella's mother is very sick and lands in hospital so she was forced to marry Andre Ferraro, they have a lot of money and it's money they need she finds he is a ruthless and absolutely gorgeous. Andre has a few secrets that he holds close to himself, as things start. The death of her father and brother and a sister she didn't even know about. The chemistry was explosive, when she was angry she would even hotter.

Stella Rovina is being coerced into a marriage for the good of the Rovina crime family. Saint, her twin and now head of the family with the death of their father and older brother, has told her that their family faces serious financial difficulties. If she marries Andre Ferraro, second in command of the Ferraro crime family, they will loan him the money to get through their difficulties. For Andre Ferraro he needs no arm twisting to marry Stella. He has been obsessed with her since the first time he saw her. Lane Hart's Cruel Little Games held me captive from the moment I started reading it. I could not put it down. Kudos to Ms. Hart for another powerful mafia story.
This picks up directly from the first book so I do recommend reading the other first. Andre has tried to break through Stella’s walls but she refuses him constantly. An arranged marriage that her deceased father set up is his chance to get close to her. Once I got going I hard a hard time putting down this book. The chemistry between Stella and Andre is off the charts. The overarching plot proceeds and then we are left anticipating the next story. I enjoyed their love journey and am hooked on this series .

Mafia Arranged marriage Dark romance Enemies to lovers
Book 2 Stella Rovina Andre Ferraro
This steamy read is a great addition to the series.
Andre is ruthless, arrogant and obsessed with Stella. It took just one encounter. When she offers him deal to make her mother happy, she falls right into his hands.
I liked how the characters developed. Seeing a different side to Andre’s ruthless side. The way he cared for Stella. The growth of their relationship.
The plot has a lot going on. There is danger, secrets, romance some things are cleared up but others continue. With so many twists and turns I eager for the next book.
This is André and Stella’s love story. We know her marginally from the previous books in the series, know she is known for being cold, but don’t know why, what happened to her in the past. He is a mob boss, the second in command, since his cousin is the Capo and his brother was killed, so he is the second now. They have an interesting love story, an arranged marriage that isn’t so bad. Since they both come from mafia families, a lot is going on around them. We revisit situations that happened previously and were part of other books on the series, learn about new things and many complications. It doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, but a very interesting teaser for the next book in the series.
Andre (Dre) Ferraro has been in love with Stella Rovina but he assisted in her father's suicide, which means she hates all the Ferraros. But women usually do not get what they want in the mafia and she and are arranged to be married. Dre is hoping to keep the peace between the families but also trying to keep himself out of jail for gun charges.
It is recommended that you read the first book before this one as there a lot of events in the first book and make a better understanding of what is going on. Cannot wait for the next in the series.

I loved Stella and Andre's story. He's been pining after her for years, and finally he's able to have her. She tries to hate him and deny the chemistry they have, but of course she can't. Reading their bickering back and forth only made the chemistry hotter between them. Also, I like that the background plot from the first book carries into this one without overshadowing their story. I wasn't expecting Stella's past revelation and who was involved. That really blew my mind and shed light on why she hated the Ferraros. I'd want revenge too. I can't wait to see how the drama and love continues Tristan's book next.
5* Andre has been hooked on Stella since he first saw her and despite his requests for a date she's always refused him. When an arranged marriage is suggested he's grateful for his chance. Stella is determined to keep away from men after her past history, unfortunately the marriage her father arranged before his death must still go ahead. He's hoping for forever, she's seeking the truth. I loved the characters and thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I would definitely recommend reading the whole series.
Cruel Little Games is book 2 in the New York City Mafia series and is Stella Rovino and Andre Ferraro's story. It's a great, fast-paced, arranged marriage read that pulls you in from page one. This story is tragic and sad and had me in tears more than once, but it’s also beautiful and almost sentimental at times. There's loss, lies and betrayals as well as intrigue and suspense that doesn't let up until you've reached the end. Cruel Little Games picks up where Filthy Little Games leaves off so you need to read this series in order. It's absolutely worth the read!
