"I’m not sure I deserve a second chance," Reid said, his voice low. "None of us deserve it," Annalise replied. "That’s why it’s called grace."
Escaping the brothel where she was born, Annalise risks everything for her little brother, answering an ad to become a mail-order bride. Arriving at Reid's secluded Illinois ranch, she’s met by a man whose piercing eyes hide a cynical rancher unprepared for the responsibilities of a family…
Reid built his life around solitude, far from the lies and betrayal that once shattered him. Their unlikely marriage was supposed to be a practical arrangement—"a fresh start for you, a housekeeper for me.” But Annalise's unshakable faith soon begins to chip away at the walls he’s built. She offers the one thing he’s forgotten how to believe in—hope.
But their fragile connection is threatened when a rival—both in business and in love—arrives, determined to tear apart their found family.
I have shown you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35

"Once upon a time..." ...my best childhood nights had started with this wonderful phrase!
Ever since I can remember, I loved a good story!
All started thanks to my beloved grandfather! He used to read to my sister and me, stories of mighty princes and horrifying dragons! Even now, sometimes I miss those cold winters in front of the fireplace in my hometown, Texas!
My best stories though were the ones from the Bible! Such is the spiritual connection that a cozy warm pass through my body every time I hear a biblical story!
My childhood memories were not all roses, but I always knew that the strongest shelter would be always there for me! It was Him!
Years passed by, and little-Chloe grown up reading all kind of stories! It was no surprise that I had this urge to write my own stories, and share them with the word!
If I have a God's purpose on Earth, I think it is to spread His love and wisdom, through my stories!
I did not like either the beginning or the ending. In my opinion, too dramatic, too unrealistic. The story is interesting but I have lots of “Why?” Questions. It makes no sense that Analiese does not introduce Jamie as her brother at the railroad station. She had opportunities. Even after she was in Reid’s home there were opportunities. If Reid intimidated her why not tell Wade? He obviously had a way of working with Reid. Analiese immediately distrusts Carter so why does she later decide a job with him might be an option? I could add several “whys?” to that bit but do not want to ruin the story for others. This author has some very good books. There are others where it feels as if she just needed to meet a deadline.
This was an awesome story of how a person can pick up the pieces of their life and move on…especially when one puts their faith in God. Reid lost his faith after losing his mom and dad in death. Annalise was raised in a brothel by her mom but worked at cleaning and cooking. Annalise’s mom died and she was left to take care of her little brother. She answered a mail order bride ad and moved to a ranch. They faced many problems but through them they fell in love. Reid rescued Annalise and her brother after his enemy kidnapped them to sell.
This is a really good story. After her mother passed away she decides to take her little brother and go West as mail order bride. When Reid first meets her he doesn't know what to think but decides to give her a chance and it definitely doesn't regret it, especially when trouble strikes the ranch. What happens and how they get through it is amazing. This really is a very good story.
This is another nice and sweet read by Chloe Carley. It is written very well. The characters are strong in their own way. A young woman is left the care of her younger brother after their mother dies. So what is she to do? But find a different place, a new start as a ranchers mail order wife. Or maybe. An enjoyable read.
A fast paced story with a girl and her brother escaping a bordello to find a safe love for this Virginial girl and her young brother. There was much of this story which did not give me a light hearted feeling but rather anxiety.not a story I would care to read again unfortunately
Wonderfully written Christian romance set in the late 1800's. Finding Grace with God, love and family. Reid and Annalise were a wonderful couple who found their way together. The supporting characters were amazingly well written. The world building was authentic and incredibly real. I highly recommend this Author.
This Book and Storyline was absolutely incredible and of best that I have read. Tons of love and lots of action and suspense. One of very finest and making this whole Book a 5 Star Rating!!
This is a n interesting story. Annalise and Jamie wrote off to be a mail order bride. When she arrived Reid did not like the idea of a ready made family. This is only the beginning of their troubles and woes. Great story, enjoy.
The story was good, but I did not like that the story wasn’t completely finished. In order to get the rest of the story, you have to subscribe to the author’s newsletter. This kind of trick will prevent me from reading this author again.
Another good book from Chloe Carley. She never disappoints. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion and this is my honest review.
Another great Chloe Carley read! This book embarks on a distinctive narrative journey, one that thoughtfully examines the complexities of human relationships and the redemptive potential of love.
