I saw on IG that Kim McCormick was putting together a street team and I thought I'd read a few chapters of her book to get a feel for whether or not I would like it. Guys, I couldn't put it down!! I was totally devoured by this story. I loved the all the different species of characters. Calla is an awesome FMC who made some frustrating choices at times. At one point I literally made a note that said "girlfriend just needs to get laid" because seriously the love triangle was making a mess. I can understand her struggles though... these boys are delicious!

I had a dream about this book the other night where book 2 came out and I was really looking forward to reading more from Calla's best friend Felicia, and I was disappointed because I was 80% through the book and she was still nowhere to be found. Random, right?

Anyways, back to the story... the plot twists were awesome and mostly unexpected. The ending is a cliffhanger but not like someone is kidnapped, put in iron chains, and thrown into an iron coffin and then cuts off. So like not THAT dramatic. But the story still stopped a place where you're like ahhhhhhh nooooo gimmme moooooore!!! So anyways, hopefully book 2 comes out soon!!

This was a complex read that takes you down an emotional journey that is full of intrigue and adventure.

Calla i character that is full of depth but is also someone who is actually more powerful than she realizes. Her journey to possibly become The Hybrid was a very interesting read. However, that ending has me totally in a chokehold.

I love the depths of the characters written into this book. The plot was very engaging and held my interest.

i’m sorry???? that is how it’s going to end??? you can’t do this to me omg.

i was enthralled by this book from the very beginning. the writing is beautiful, the characters are so very likeable and fun, the plot is amazing, the world building and the different beings are amazing. i absolutely loved the history of these characters and how a common enemy brings the unlikeliest people together.

the twists and turns in this had me stressing and i could not put it down, i devoured it in one sitting, such a page turner, and that cliff hanger??? i need the next book, like, right now.

i really need everyone to go read this once it’s out.
10/10, definitely recommend

This book had all of the twists and turns, many I really didn't see coming. I am obsessed with this book, I'm not even biased when I say how good this is! this is a genuine must read and the chemistry with Vihaan, Finn and Calla is something else, there's a lot going on in this book it's fast paced but easy to keep up with. The characters, plot and language are 10/10

I may be biased since this is my best friend’s debut novel, but I really do think she has something amazing here.

With any fantasy, there is world building and many characters to get acclimated to. I found that both were done so well and were written beautifully to the point where I could see the vision of everything Kim wanted. Midelle as a whole is a world that sustains so many different life forms while still being both beautiful and decrepit at the same time.

Starting out, we are introduced to Finn almost immediately. There is so much hatred between the two of them, and I can understand why, as Finn is not the most flattering character. But this is why I love character development so much. I was able to see him and Calla grow as a whole. I feel the same has to be said for Vihaan. Although he was a shining light from the start, I could tell just how much he was willing to do for Calla as the story progressed.

Now, to the biggest issue facing Midelle…The Corrupted. What an absolutely wonderful way of providing conflict to this story. And the plot twists as I got to the end were absolutely eye opening.

I am so very proud of you, Kimberly. You wrote a phenomenal novel, and I cannot wait for the series to continue on.

tbh i'm still reeling at the ending because what the heck did I read?! I AM NOT OKAY.

In all honesty, this was a BRILLIANT BOOK. I am mainly amazed at how talented Kim is, and more people aren't reading this because I'm obsessed. You've got a slow burn love triangle, a reluctant heroine (who is definitely stronger than I could ever be), and so many loveable mythical characters.

Midelle also sounds like a beautiful place, and I genuinely wish I could visit. This book had it all, and is definitely a book worth cozying up and reading.

I also need the second book... asap. I will fight.

A Deity Rose: Nature’s Wrath was such an incredible read! Calla’s life goes from quiet and familiar to absolutely flipped on its head in minutes, and watching her fumble, fight, and slowly find her footing is honestly one of the best parts of the book. She isn’t the polished, ready-made chosen one. You feel her grief, her frustration, and her “why me?” moments.

The MMCs around her make the story even better! Finn shows up early with all the attitude in the world and zero interest in making things easy. He’s sharp-tongued, guarded, and honestly kind of a menace, but the cracks in his armor start showing, and the shift in his relationship with Calla is addictive. Vihaan is his complete opposite: warm, steady, quietly loyal, and the type of person who steps up without asking for anything in return. The tension between these two men, and what each brings out in Calla, gives the book so much spark.

The setting of Midelle is beautiful and eerie at the same time. It's packed with magic, danger, and enough history to make you want a map and timeline of important events in the front of the book. The pacing is quick without being chaotic, and the twists are unexpected and come at just the right moments. And that cliffhanger is brutal in the best way! If you like fantasy with tension, banter, and a FMC who’s still figuring herself out while the world expects everything from her, this one is absolutely worth picking up!

A Deity Rose: Nature’s Wrath drops you straight into loss and memory, then cracks open into prophecy. Calla’s grief for her adoptive mom is heavy on the page, but before she can catch her breath, a tattoo and a locked box pull her into something much bigger than herself.

This is portal fantasy built on familiar bones: chosen one, hidden heritage, destiny. Calla is messy and human and watching her stumble through grief into danger makes her easy to root for.

The writing is accessible, emotional, and paced for romantasy readers who love prophecy, banter, and a heroine who doesn’t have it figured out but fights anyway. It’s got the comfort of classic fantasy tropes with the urgency of a story that keeps pulling you forward.

I don't typically read fantasy books but this was recommended to me so I did. I found it very well written and engaging. There were some unexpected twists and turns as you journeyed through this make believe story. The author wove humor, romance, as well as drama throughout the book. Even if you're not a fantasy reader you'll enjoy this book.

Truly love this book - I care about the characters and the plot. Couldn’t stop reading it, can’t wait for the next one. If you like ACOTAR you’ll like this. It’s sexy, it’s magical, and there is a new world with new people and new lore to dive into. A new classic for sure.
