While this book is mainly focused on identifying and removing yourself from romantic narcissistic abuse, I was able to see things about other relationships in my life. It gave me additionaly understanding to why it is so difficult for some to break free from someone even their friends or family can see is harmful. The book also provides good exercises to remind the reader to not feel guilty for getting entangled by the narcissist's web, improve the reader's self-esteem, and reinforce to the reader that they are worthy of love without the conditionals narcissist's place upon any relationship.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book to evaluate it for my public library's collection. I ordered it. It is a good resource for people looking to understand Narcissistic Personality Disorder and for those seeking to break free from a toxic relationship.
I found the first part of the book to be very helpful in identifying toxic traits of NPD and how NPD is diagnosed.
I am not in a relationship with a narcissist so I cannot give an assessment of the plan to action. I will say that it looks good. I would encourage anyone stuck with a narcissist to give this a read.
For anyone that's endured narcissistic abuse, this is the book they wish they had and would want for anyone else navigating the difficult dynamics. Dr. Kastner beautifully and compassionately applies her expertise and knowledge with steps that are easy to understand. A must read!
