BABY DADDY’S SECOND CHANCE by Anita Shaw is the first book in the Edge of Love series and I can’t wait for more. This was an action adventure romantic suspense and I was happy that the romance did not lead the story and we didn’t get bogged down by too much steam. While love was vitally important there were many types of love and many layers to it.
This is Mason and Amy’s story and how they were able to find their way back to each other after he left three years before is front and center. How he proved himself to his family and himself and even their small town was realistically portrayed and made the story come alive. Their daughter Amelia was adorable as was Izzy, the teenager they brought into their family who was computer savvy and used it for good to help fight the bad guys and so much evil. She wanted to protect those who were important to her especially after her childhood blew up.
There are beautiful family moments along with bad guys, crimes committed and thwarted, planning, trust proven, a business to run and more. Family dynamics and relationships were important as well as showing love and respect to those deserving of it. Their family unit was a true testament of what family should be. There are layers to every facet of the story. There is closure with the bad guys getting what they deserve along with a happily ever after and successes. It was rewarding to see love, on many different levels, flourish.

Shaw has written a gripping story that sucks you in from the first page and keeps you enthralled until the end. The story pulls readers in with tension, plot points, and character building. The book centers around Amy Campbell, a single mom to daughter Amelia, trying to run her bar, and survive day to day. Her man Mason Carter left them without a word three years ago, and now he was back, with danger following him. Mason has come back to warn Amy. Although Amy knows that Mason is dangerous, she can’t help but be drawn to him. Amy is vulnerable, having always loved Mason. Mason’s character is complex with many layers. He was a former special forces soldier, sucked into the world of Russian operatives, with seemingly no way out. That world was dangerous, vicious and cruel. Yet, Mason could still find tenderness and patience with Amelia, and he still loved Amy. Their chemistry was off the charts.
The book was well-written, had an interesting plot, and was appropriately paced. There were elements of danger, suspense, and love. The story could be brutal at times, but it was all in context with the story line. I thought the author did a good job with character development and world-building. The plot was exciting, the sex scenes spicy, and lots of twists to keep me on my toes. Another enjoyable book by Anita Shaw!

Mason is involved with some big-time criminals and when he sees that his family could be at risk, he lives them behind. Amy has struggles to raise their daughter and run the bar at the same time. However, she didn't expect to ever see Mason again then he walked into the bar. Mason knew he wouldn't get opened arms, but he was there to ensure his family's safety. Will this be a second chance for them? Can he protect them?
This is an amazing story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Amy owns a bar in Cedar Grove, she’s a single mother to a 5 year old girl.
The father left them when the daughter had two years without a word.
One day he came back and wanted to talk with her but she said she didn’t have time because the bar is busy with the customers.
The customers didn’t look at him the same because of the way he left his own family.
When she was ready to hear what he wanted to say, he tells her that he left because the Russo threatened him to hurt her and their daughter, so he chose the hardest way.
He tells her that he saved a teenage girl from the Russo basement and now he works for the fbi.
But danger is coming after her door.
A good story , that I liked reading.

I am going to give everyone a heads up that this romance book by Anita is a must-read story about some amazing characters who have a romance story that will make your heart go pitter patter. HOLY SMOKES I was instantly mesmerized with the HOTTIE on the cover. His blue eyes are breath taking and I had to read this book instantly. The only problem was I couldn't put it down and so that meant I did nothing but read this FABULOUS book today. It is way more than just a 5-star read it is more like a 10-star read if not more.

What a rollercoaster of emotions, the back and forth of this second chance romance will make you laugh and cry in the same page, Mason’s story is so touching, getting caught with the wrong people can put the one you love in trouble, big time. the characters are well written, strong personality . Their personal story are really heartbreaking, each have a complicated past that needs healing. You will enjoy this book.

From the start this book is intense and exciting. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat through the whole book. I fell in love with the characters and the storyline is fantastic. I couldn't wait to see how it ended. Highly recommend reading. Look forward to reading more from Anita Shaw.

This book was funny, charming and sexy! I enjoyed the characters and loved the way they bounced off each other. The sass was phenomenal and I loved the way the MFC stood up for herself when the MMC was being an ass.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a good plot. I love how feisty and strong Amy is as the female main character. I wanted Mason to really come out to top and for him to fight for his family. I didn't want to put it down. I finished it in one day. I would recommend to others.

Mason left a dangerous boss and came home to protect his family. About a quarter of the book is a fire fight in his wife’s bar. The story is based on family and love and regaining trust while building that family back. It’s an unusual but very interesting book.

This was such a sweet heart warming book. I read it in one sitting.

a real good read with a lot of action an lots of family time it was sweet the ending was worth the waiting for the author gave us a great touching story.
