Let’s be honest. I was fat. I was 28 and bulky as I’ve ever been. Maybe bulky doesn’t quite describe it. Let me I was 200 pounds overweight. I think a lot of people would have given up and just gotten comfortable with being overweight, but something inside me just snapped (which I talk about in the book) and I decided to transform my life. You can imagine my first reaction upon finding a vegan diet. “I’m no wild antelope that eats plants and grass” is what I thought. But then again I had no idea what I was talking about. The vegan diet is without a doubt the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. In this book I’m going to show you how I lost weight, gained back my body, my self esteem, my confidence and completely transformed my life using the vegan diet. Let’s get started!
This book is a quick easy read with a lot of yummy looking recipes. Amber has a Truly inspiring story. I'm on day six of being vegan . I hope to lose 60lbs and keep it off with this healthy life style change
This is written in journal form so, in essence, it's not a book as such.
It's quite short which makes the author's journey seem easy. One minute she's fat, the next she's not. Pepper in a few recipes and her journey is complete.
There's no examination of the vegan diet per se, no breakdown on what she was actually eating, no spotlight on her medical status (I would have done a before and after) and, very tellingly, no photos at all.
LOVE THIS BOOK!!! Amber's story is very close to mine (although I didn't weigh as much as she did, and haven't had quite the same amount of success as she has). I went from size 18 to size 6 because of health issues. It is so true that vegan food can be absolutely delicious. Wonderful story, some good recipes that I will try. Thanks for sharing your story, Amber.
I really enjoyed this quick and motivational read. I've been a vegetarian for 22 years and tried veganism for 3, so her plan made sense to me. I wish the book were longer and more detailed. I'd love to keep up with the author's progress through a blog or social media --she's quite engaging. Good recipes that I'm looking forward to trying and tips for further research.
This was one of my very first forays into Kindle territory. A fellow participant in the 2015 Reading Challenge mentioned it on Facebook. It was such a quick read, I feel almost guilty including it! I did enjoy it, and definitely plan to try a couple of the recipes. A positive and very accessible testament to the benefits of a plant-based diet.
I'm so inspired by Amber's story. I'm vegan and overweight but I think by following Amber's example and using her weight loss tips I will reach my weight loss goal in no time!

My son is wanting to go vegan and I have no idea where to start! This was a great first book for me to read as it gave me basic recipes and encouraged me that I could incorporate a vegan lifestyle as well towards weight loss for myself!
