I write post apocalyptic science fiction both on my own account and with Mike Kraus, as well as space opera and fantasy. And one or two other bits and bobs.
Based in the south of England, I've been writing since my teens, alternating between funny and serious. In the mid 1990s, I became a regular columnist for PC Pro magazine and have written a number of business and craft books over the years.
Fiction is my first love, however - I hope you enjoy my voyages into an uncertain future.
Wow. I've just finished this gripping book, having fairly raced through it! I do like action, and lots of things happening, and this novel certainly had those. Also some interesting characters, with unexpected twists and plenty of villains. And of course some, who can't easily be classified into black or white, which always makes things absorbing. Anyone who has previously read any of this author's series will recognise the style, and be certain to also enjoy this series starter. I certainly can't wait to read the next one!
Last City is an apocalyptic thriller revolving around the town of Hope, which, initially inexplicably, spared the destruction the rest of, at least America, possibly the world. The book is unique in its apocalypse, points in its favor. Also, no character is a preppper/homesteader/survivalist, just regular people facing the end of the world. The villains are well constructed, but the sympathetic characters are even better. 5/5 star! Recommended to anyone interested in excellent apocalyptic fiction or just thrillers in general.
