He's my best friend's older brother and the bane of my existence. He's also my fake boyfriend for the next week...

I know that I should just tell my ex to F-off when he announces to our entire hometown that he intends to get me back.

But then I’m given the option to make him miserable instead…

Yeah, I definitely go with door number two.
Even though it means fake dating my arch-nemesis.

Jefferson Riley is my best friend’s older brother and the most annoying person I know.
But he’s also my ex’s biggest adversary.

Being happily in love with Jefferson will be the perfect way to torture the man who was absolutely horrible to me. And Jefferson agrees. In fact, it’s his idea.
Besides, it’s only for a week.

So, we’ll enjoy watching the creep seethe, and then we’ll part ways and keep living our lives as enemies. As always.

At least, that’s the plan.

Until Jefferson starts cooking for me. And taking his shirt off. And fostering cats. And kissing me. And talking dirty.
And proving that he really understands and supports me.
The jerk.
When this is over, he’s going to leave me with a bunch of mixed-up feelings, isn’t he?

Like maybe actually liking him.
And maybe wanting even more from my biggest rival.
Something very much…not fake.

i dislike people that are bitchy and rude for no reason and h in this book is one of them. she hates him because he, as a guidance counselor did his job and got his students a good life outside of their small town. and her interest is social work and child advocacy but she wants a kid that's been suffering, to stay in the same town because it's what's best for her, not the kid but her. 🫢

i loved the H, hated the h, he truly deserved better than this selfish miserable asshole

Accidentally falling in love

I love the Sapphire Falls original series and I am so here for the next generation. I loved, loved this fake relationship, best friend’s brother, enemies to lovers romance. This heartwarming and spicy story as seen through the eyes of two intense and passionate main characters will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the emotions. The story drew me in from the very first sentence and the characters are still living in my heart now that it’s done. It was definitely a stay up too late, cannot put it down, it should get more than 5 stars kind of book. Jefferson is a school guidance counselor and the football coach in small town Sapphire Falls. Harlow is a social worker and Jefferson’s brother’s best friend. Jefferson and Harlow have been sniping at each other since high school mostly because she wants everyone to stay in Sapphire Falls and he encourages them to spread their wings. When Harlow’s ex and Jefferson’s arch rival arrives in town and wants Harlow back, Jefferson and Harlow agree to fake date to annoy him. Of course, fake starts to feel real almost immediately and no one seems surprised except Jefferson and Harlow. The journey to their HEA included sweet moments, spicy scenes, snort worthy laughs, supportive friends and families, a quirky gossipy close knit town, and all heart squeezing love. As always, Erin Nicholas makes a romcom so much deeper than simply laughs and light romance and she got us there with witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. I am excited to read more in this series and getting to visit the original characters.

I’ve been reading more genres lately but feel like I’m loving less books and I don’t know why, but I love when I read a book like Make Her Mine where I know I’ll love this book, give it five stars from the first chapter, and this is one of those books. I was already obsessed and flying through the book, wanting to read it in every second while at the gym and every traffic light. I was already recommending it to my friends by the halfway point.

The banter and the flirting between Jefferson and Harlow was top tier, it was some of the best I’ve read in months and I’ll be recommending this book to anyone who loves any of the tropes, or just wants a good small town series. I have not read the first generation but I’ll definitely be going back and reading it as soon as I can fit it in my schedule.

Harlow hates Jefferson for what he represents and how it effects her own trauma, but when it comes to making Zach uncomfortable she’d team up with his rival to make sure he hates his life while in town. Soon after Jefferson and Harlow began fake dating, the flirting becomes very real and very irresistible. These two, man they have chemistry in spades and their family and friends know it. The bonfire scene was hot enough to make some s’mores and well I could rave about the rest but instead go read this book!

So good to be back. How I would love to jump into the pages of this book and be a part of this magical world that Erin has created . Sliding into a booth at Dottie's Diner, pulling up a stool at The Come Again to catchup with old friends. Even hitting up the festival having a smooch at the kissing booth, having a go at the dunk tank maybe even a ride on the ferris wheel. I have no doubt I would find a kinship with all the characters in this most amazing small town Sapphire Falls.

If you have been lucky enough to read the original series (the parents) you will know about all the couples and families that reside here. This is the first of the second generation and who better than to start with Mason and Adriannes son Jefferson and Piper and Scotts daughter Harlow. This was a hoot. The banter and chemistry between these two was superb. A laugh out loud rom rom, heartwarming breath of fresh air.

Next up is Tucker and Delaneys son David. So excited.

Erin Nicholas takes us back to Sapphire Falls in spectacular fashion in the first book of this next generation series!

Jefferson and Harlow have been aggravating each other for years but they team up to fake a relationship when Harlow's jerky ex comes to town. Their relationship quickly turns much more...friendly as they realize they are actually perfect for each other. Their banter is perfect, their chemistry is off the charts and the ending is nothing short of the happiest of happily ever afters.

This book just made me happy! I loved seeing the "older couples" (crying as I write that lol) and meeting this new generation of Sapphire Falls residents. I can not wait for the next book!

So great to be back in Sapphire Falls

It's so great to be back in Sapphire Falls again. It's the next generations turnfor small town romance. Erin brings it all back with Jefferson and Harlow as the first couple.
Enemies to lovers, or are they really? These two haven't gotten along for years. Harlow's ex comes back for a wedding and tells her he wants to get back together. Jefferson hates the ex, so he tells him harlow has moved on and is seeing someone. Who is that someone? Turns out it's Jefferson. Wonderful antics and romance ensue.
Great group of characters for the next generation. Get to visit with the originals as well.
Another hit for Erin. Can't wait for next book.

Made it 100 pages before DNF. What a completely unlikeable FMC. No logic applied to her character background- is a social work but hates a school counselor for encouraging students to follow their dreams and go away to college? Ex boyfriend committed sex crimes, but we’re not gonna report it instead let’s “make him sad” by fake dating? Let’s let our huge family and friend groups in on it?

The characters were not well grown, the book used tons of extended inner monologue to convey information (tons of telling, not showing the reader), and the “reasoning” for the fake dating trope was weak.

Read like a bad tv movie, and the main FMC was just so damn unlikable. Individual parts could have worked, but when thrown together this was a soupy mess.

lovely read

Harlow and Jefferson have known each other most of their lives as their parents are all friends but have always clashed. Although very reluctant at first they decide to date each other as Harlows ex boyfriend is in town and wants her back.
Harlow and Jefferson develop a really good relationship and she realises she actually likes Jefferson as more than a friend. It also becomes apparent that Jefferson had protected Harlow years ago without her being aware.
Loved the book.

I read all the Sapphire Falls books a few years ago so it was great to go back to the next generation although I found myself going back through the summary of the previous books to familiarise myself with who is who!

Looking forward to more books in this series.

It's been a year or two since I've sat down and read a book, and getting back to Sapphire Falls seemed like the perfect way to do it :).

Reading about the next gen of the SF crew was amazing. Not only did we see some of our fave from the original crew, we got to see the kids grown up.

Harlow and Jefferson's story was the perfect start of this spinoff. I love the banter in enemies to lovers stories, and these two did not disappoint.

I loved seeing the secondary characters personalities getting built, and can't wait to see what Erin has in store for us next. Would definitely recommend reading this!

This next generation of Sapphire Falls is off to a wonderful start with Jefferson and Harlow. It was fun seeing the OG characters weigh in on their relationship and lives, as well as meeting the children of those people. The story also showed how making assumptions about people can lead to long-term problems and misunderstandings but taking the time to really get to know the person can lead to special memories.

Ms. Nicholas is one of my favorite writers and I always look forward to her upcoming books. Highly recommended.

I’m thrilled to be back in Sapphire Falls again with the next generation by Erin Nicholas and I absolutely loved reading Jefferson and Harlow’s story. I really enjoyed the bantering between these two and as they say, there’s a fine line between love and hate. Luckily, all the fake dating opens their eyes to their true feelings for one another and I enjoyed seeing their journey to HEA. Love the small town vibes, family and friendships and cannot wait to read the next book.

I want to go visit Sapphire Falls!

The hate fest that Harlow and Jefferson have had for years, mostly Harlow, gets twisted when ex Zach comes back to town. And Zach wants to get back with Harlow. But not if Jefferson has any say. And there are lots of secrets in this town. Now there were some surprises I was not expecting. And the original couples that are now parents of this generation, have not lost their touch. May have even refined it even better.

Jefferson and Harlow have grown up together, in addition his siblings are her best friends, but she can’t stand him. This was a great enemies to lovers story, when they join forces against a common enemy. Harlow and Jefferson are so similar in their protectiveness of those they love even though they go about it in a completely different way.

Love Revisiting Sapphire Falls

Jefferson and Harlow are great. Their yin and yang make them perfect together. The family and friends they bring to the party are fun and loving. And Sapphire Falls is a character unto herself that melds it all. So happy to meet all the next generation.

The MMC Jefferson made this a 4 star read for me. He was dreamy, and knew what and who he wanted. The FMC Harlow starts out as rude and resentful towards Jefferson, and throughout the book she gets to see who he really is. First time reading this author or this series and it was easy to follow along. Can’t wait to read more.

Awesome book

Definitely one of the best for I enemies to lovers story I have ever read. Not quite friends but not quite enemies. The fake relationship to avoid her atrocious ex who deserved to be miserable was brilliant. Definitely an incredibly special story and I LOVE this Sapphire Falls second generation. I hope the others are just as good. I recommend this story.

What a good story

It has tears, romance, family, friends and memories of the first Sapphire Falls series. The characters are the best, people you know and love. The sense of community brings it all together. I want more....

I listened to this Audible. The narration was fine.

This was a fun little book. I liked the characters. Having not read any of the previous Saphire Falls book, I felt a little out of the loop with all the backstory info, but otherwise the kids seem alright.
