What’s worse than being stuck in bed with the flu? Being quarantined with your two best friends.
When Ronan O’Mara wakes up stuffy and coughing, his family wants nothing to do with him. Upon hearing the other cold case detectives are sick too, Tennyson suggests the three men bunk together, so no one else gets sick.
Over the course of the day, the detectives steal snacks, fight over soup, and share secrets. Will Ronan, Jude, and Fitzgibbon survive being dead sick? Or each other?
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
Don't miss Pandora’s seductive new novel coming soon to an e-reader near you.
Ronan, Fitz and Jude are sick and their kids and significiant others decide they can quarantine together. The 3 really show how men are when they are sick. I was quietly chuckling to myself through this short book. Better still was when the husbands and kids came home they were all sick.
A rare misfire from one of my favorite authors. Not really even a novella. This would have been a cute freebie, but the story itself is a mere 50 pages. It does absolutely nothing to further the franchise. Just three sick men acting like man-babies. Not even mildly funny.
As a big fan of Pandora Pine’s books, I was excited when Dead Sick was released. I’ve been waiting for the next exciting story in the Cold Case Psychic series. Although the story was entertaining, having the three cold case detectives stuck with each other while sick made for an amusing very short story. However, I was disappointed because I was expecting another in depth cold case involving the detectives and their families.
I didn’t feel there was a need to emphasize the bickering and camaraderie of the three detectives as it is a given, having been established in the previous books. As much as I enjoy the characters of Ronan, Jude, and Fitz, I was disappointed when the story suddenly ended without really knowing what the author was trying to convey.
This would have been a good prologue to a more meaty story involving these characters. However, I still enjoyed the humorous writing, and I had a good laugh, and I am hoping there is another book in the works with the familiar plots and characters.
I needed this story! I laughed all the way through at these grown-up men acting like kids. Ronan hiding the peanut butter cups in the sofa that you knew he would forget about and he and Jude fighting over the soup packet was priceless. Kaye coming to the rescue was hilarious. You knew that they really were good friends but being sick did not out the best in them and the whining was ridiculous but remembering being sick as a kid brought back so many memories. What a wonderful reprieve from all of the dark stories I have been reading.
When my HB gets sick he just crawls into bed and hides until he is better or I call an ambulance to take him to the hospital. But, having heard so many of my friends say that when their husbands get sick it is like having another child to care for... I would say that Ms. Pine hit the nail right on the head with Ronan, Jude and Fitz... just sayin'! 🤣🤣🤣
Our three favourite Salem detectives are sick and feeling down and dejected. Good job they can rely on themselves to look after each other, right? I love this brotherhood...even when they're in gigantic man child mode. This is a cute short story and I'm already looking forward to the next full-length Salemverse book.
I think this was supposed to be funny, three guys acting childishly when they’re sick. It wasn’t funny. It was kind of insulting to depict men like that, really. Kind of made me not like any of them, the sick ones or the spouses.
This was hilarious. I can only imagine them talking g in the writers head as this was being written! This really does show how men are when they are sick lol!
I rated this book 3.5 stars, so I rounded it up to 4 stars. I enjoyed this book but I felt like it didn’t add much to the Cold Case Psychic storyline as there’s not the usual ghosts or investigating it’s just Ronan, Jude and Kevin all hunkering down together being their extremely dramatic selves while sick but still worth a read. I’m looking forward to reading more books from this universe, as well as other books from Pandora. I’m hoping that Greeley is going to be in more stories like I’ve wanted forever. He totally deserves some fantastic luck after everything he’s been through and what he’s had to overcome. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
