I read the synopsis for this book and I have to admit, I was very intrigued. I wanted a light read about love after a convenient marriage. However, after I started this, I was not impressed at all. In the end I DNF this book at 40%
!(◎_◎;)

Positive:

1) I really like the plot or convenient marriage, bad boy meets good girl, abuse hero/heroine. Sorry but this is all I have in the positive section. This book might work for you, but it didn't work for me.

Negative:

1) The writing. I really didn't like the writing for so many reasons, and one is because how the characters didn't seem real. The plot was really good and the writer could've made something out of it if only they made the characters more believable. I didn't understand the insta-love in here, and I felt it was too sudden for the guy to help the girl and be so involved in her life when he never spoke to her before. They weren't even friends.

2) The characters. I didn't like the heroine at all. She was too weak, and her actions were kind of weird. I didn't understand her at all, and I honestly didn't care. This story was kind of like a Cinderella love story but with a step dad instead. I love Cinderella, but it wasn't prosecuted well in here.

Also, the hero was too enthusiastic for me. There was no chemistry between the two characters, and I honestly didn't care about them.

3) It was very fast paced. I like fast paced books, I really do especially after I finish a series and I'm in need for something to get me into reading. However, this book was too fast paced! One moment the girl was being hit, the next she was going to school. It happened way too quickly. There were barely ANY description, or explaining her feelings about how she was treated. (´・_・`)

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○

Then after I decided to give up on this, I've read some of the reviews. I knew afterwards that this was originally written on Wattpad, and that was why many assumed it was bad. I have to disagree though since there are many Wattpad books that are written VERY well, and are quite enjoyable with great characters. I'm just trying to say that Wattpad rioters shouldn't be judged by this book.

As I said before, this might not have been my kind of book, but it might be yours!! Check it out, and decide by yourself.

3 KA meets 90210 the high school years

First of all, let me just say that I like to read everything! Sometimes I am in the mood for something sweet and predictable. Sometimes I am looking for a YA dystopian romance. Sometimes I like to read something down right raw and dirty. That being said, Married to the Bad Boy was not exactly a typical read for me and yet I enjoyed it just the same. It was completely unbelievable on so many levels. If you are a stickler for true to life reads then you should stay clear of this book. If you can put aside the craziness of the story and just enjoy the young romance then you should give this read a try!

Kami
description

Kami is a senior in high school just struggling to stay alive. She was abandoned by her father. She lives with her alcoholic mother, abusive step father, and evil step sister. She just has to finish high school and then she will get her grandmother's inheritance money. The abuse is getting so bad that she is unsure that she will even make it.

description

What she doesn't know is that someone does care. Someone is watching. Someone is waiting to take charge in order to save her.

Brandon
description

When Kami shows up at school badly bruised, Brandon has had enough. He inserts himself in her life. He lets her know that he is going to find out what is going on and he is going to protect her. Kami doesn't want to cause anyone any trouble. She tries to get way from Brandon.

"There’s no bringing her back. I’m broken to the point that there is no repairing me. All you can do is let go. I’m sure there is another girl out there worth saving, but I’m not her. Now can you please let me go?"

Brandon refuses to let go. He follows her home and witnesses the abuse she is enduring first hand. He intervenes and takes Kami away. Brandon drives the car straight to a church. (Yes, you read that correctly!) Brandon decides he needs to marry her to keep her safe. (Now before you roll your eyes, I already stated that things in this plot are unbelievable.) We discover later why Brandon thought this would be the best idea and it is actually very sweet.

description

Brandon and Kami become close friends. Kami finds security with Brandon and his parents. They decide to try to make the marriage thing work. Although they haven't even kissed, Brandon makes every effort to show Kami love and sincerity at every turn. When Kami's father enters the picture, the crazy plot thickens. Brandon is uber protective of Kami and won't let anyone near her.

As their relationship continues to grow, I felt glimpses of nostalgia. I remembered my first high school boyfriend and how head over heels in love I was with him. I remembered thinking what it would be like to be married to him. However unbelievable this entire scenario was, I found it fresh and unique to explore the possibility!

description

There is some high school drama and more tension from her father and yet these two continued to grow closer together. When Brandon and Kami finally come together and consummate the marriage, it was sweet.

“You. I need you. I want this to be real and not some agreement we made. I don’t want to let you go."-Brandon

Brandon helps Kami find the strength to change herself.

"Brandon. Brandon was what had changed me. I loved him and I would die for him."-Kami

We don't actually witness the act and yet the connection between the two of them was evident.

description

The big reveal at the end was even more unbelievable then the main plot line and yet I still willingly went along for the ride. The ending was my least favorite part of the book. I think I could have easily given this book a 4 star rating if the story would have had a more developed ending. It just felt like it tuckered out. (It was probably tired from all of the drama and angst!) We don't really get to see what happens between the two of them in the end. It is of course suggested that they will be ok and yet, I felt like after all that they had been through, they deserved every ounce of a HEA!

Overall, Married to the Bad Boy was a quick and fun read. What didn't work is obvious. Why didn't CPS or anyone from Kami's school intervene when she was being abused? Why didn't her abusive parents try to get her back when she ran away? Was Brandon really a bad boy or just a typical teenage boy? Why did Brandon actually choose to help Kami? Couldn't we have had more of them together after high school? I know the author is writing or has written a book from Brandon's point of view. Truth be told, I think I understood his point of view very clearly. Now if there is a book about them in the future, I might actually check it out.

When I first saw this story over on Wattpad.com when it came up in my story search results:

My thoughts? Yet another bad boy fic, I see. Then, the title caught my eye and I was all:

I decided, meh! - what the hell? I started reading it and I was immediately hooked and fell in love with the main characters, Brandon and Kami:

BRANDON (Played by Sean Faris)

Brandon is a player, a bad boy. He gets what he wants and all the girls fall at his feet. He's cocky, arrogant and to be honest, a bit of a douche. But he's also sweet, kind and caring. He does like his women, though... which makes for some interesting scenes in the story since he marries Kami to keep her safe. However, they also make the deal to anull the marriage as soon as they graduate in a few months. You find that while Brandon is an ass to everyone else, he actually comes across as being very considerate of Kami, even when he's being...well...Brandon.

KAMI (Played by Ashley Benson)

She can be a bit annoying in beginning. She seems a little too timid and almost painfully innocent at times. However, you find that you can overlook it and even begin to understand it after a couple of chapters. After a while, it becomes endearing almost.

THE VILLIANS

         Not. Who. You. Think!!

THE HAPPIES THAT MAKE FOR HAPPINESS

While they are on vacation, I'm going to tell you right now... there's something wrong with you if you don't fall in love with this cuter than cute couple, especially since they decide to stay together!

  IN CONCLUSION

Are there issues with the book? Yes. There are some grammar problems. HOWEVER, the author knows about it and she is working to correct them as quickly as possible. She has an editor and any new chapters that come out go through the editor first and the older ones are being edited as they are gotten to. Honestly, that's the only problem/issue that I can find with this piece! I freaking LOVE this story! It has heart, meat and characters you can fall in love with. In the end:

2.5 Syrupy Sweet And Drama Filled Stars!
Ridiculous is all I can come up with.
Kami is being abused by her family. She's all bruised up at school. Nobody ever questions this lonely girl that is hurt all the time. All of a sudden Brandon the bad boy notices her and plows himself right into her life. He gets his schedule changed to hers, announces on the school intercom that nobody better mess with his girlfriend Kami and sits next to her in every class. He never leaves her side the whole day. He gets side tracked by one of the many sluts that want his attention. Kami is not used to all this attention and decides this is a perfect chance to escape him and rushes home. Once there her step-father and step-sister start in on her. Brandon busts in and saves her. He wants to take her to the police station. But Kami says no! See Kami's real father left her when she was 10 after her grandma dies (his mother) and leaves her (not him) everything. With one rule. She has to finish high school. So this means she can't go to the police. She needs to finish school and how can she do that if she's homeless? She wants the money so she can go to college and leave this crazy family behind. Brandon takes her to a church where they get married. He promises to protect her. Then brings her home to his parents house and his parents are like ok. OMG! All of that happened in ONE day! Whew! YES...ridiculous! But...I kept reading. lol I started skimming the last 25%. It was a bit much. Plus we get no sexy at all!!! I was a bit bummed:( lol
I see there is a book two coming in Brandon's POV. I think I will definitely pass! lol

This was just ridiculous. I can even suspend reality a little bit and accept the fact that he gets this case of insta love and wants to protect her but everything after she leaves school that first day is just so over the top cheesy and unbelievable, that I can't believe I even finished this book. I should have read a few reviews ahead of time and saved myself from this because it plainly says that this was on Wattpad before and, not really trying to knock Wattpad or anything, but a lot of stuff that is on Wattpad makes me want to slam my head into a wall. I give credit and props to anyone who even attempts to write a book because that is a tough thing to do. I couldn't do it and wouldn't even try to, to be completely honest. There was no flow to the writing. It was just choppy and, at times, seemed like parts were missing. Phrases and dialogues were odd and stilted. Towards the end I started skimming because I just wanted it to be over. The ending leaves so many unanswered questions, and there are so many holes in the plot that just didn't work AT ALL. Character development was flat and supporting characters float in the background only to be used in a few sparse instances. I guess I expect too much out of my books. The only thing I liked about the book was the general idea. I'm a sucker for the overprotective hero. It's ridiculous enough on it's own but adding in all the unnecessary drama was overload. Editing would have been much appreciated too. Hate to be a downer on a book that has so many rave reviews but I felt like I got duped into spending money on a book that should have just been left on Wattpad.

I absolutely loved this book!

It definitely wasn't a cliche, and so if you are on a hunt for an entirely different plot line, THIS IS A MUST READ!

I found this book utterly beautiful, and I was so glad I found it when it was just there on the 'Discover' side of Wattpad.

Not only does this story attracts you from the very beginning, but can also make the emotions in you go on and off like a freaking switch.

I swear I probably squealed more in this story than I have in my entire life.

And it was so beautiful how Brandon just asked her to marry him, and it makes me feel as though there is still some kind nature and actual humanity left in this planet. And not to mention that Brandon is one handsome fellow that can make my blood pressure increase just by him smiling.

As for Kami, I really admire her strength. What she has been through must have been tough and for her to even agree to this marriage just made everything even the more perfect. Kami is just one of those girls that no matter what they do, you can't hate. She is the most selfless, kindest and reasonable character I have ever come across.

And another character that I have always admired was Brandons' Mom. Surprisingly she was very supportive of the two of them and it was actually pretty touching.

And if this doesn't already sound perfect to you, then please go and book an appointment with a doctor.

And of course, no bad boy story is complete without some action right?

And let me tell you, the action in this story can literally have you jumping.

At least it did for me.

And I absolutely love the chapters that were in Brandons' point of view, they just make everything all the more swoon-worthy and made me lose everything I have tried so hard to maintain.

All in all, this was a really beautiful read and I am so happy it is being published.

At least the world got something right, and that is to get this book published.

Why? Why did I even bother reading this? Biggest waste of time in the world. Nothing, absolutely nothing attached me to the story. There was no chemistry between the characters, no proper plot and a heroine that was so stupid I actually wanted to hit her face...multiple times.

My reaction throughout the book

Towards the end of the novel:

I though the book had so much potential, so much to work with a semi-original plot, but it was just so poorly done, I just don't even want to waste my time writing out all the things I didn't like.

Maybe I am just to old for YAs these days...

Well I loved it!

yes it covers abuse, theres talk of rape but ive read worse in mc books, it is what it is & that was Kami's life until Brandon swooped in like a knight in shining armour.

It was a fast paced & exciting.

I would however have preferred more passion & bedroom action making it a more adult contemporary read but liked it none the less.

It reminded me of Kirsty Moseley's the boy who sneaks in my bedroom window, I'm a sucker for an overprtective alpha male Braden deserves to be in any BBF line up.

What a mess!

I should have known from the disclaimer I'd be in for a ride of WTFuckery. But, man... I didn't know it would be this bad.

Repetition, tense issues, and all-around ridiculousness of the plot were too much for me. After suffering through 26% of this book, I skimmed the rest. And, well, it gets even more absurd. I'm not sure who wrote the description, but the contents are nothing like what I was expecting from reading it.

Maybe with some editing (grammar, content, the works) this book could've been decent, good even. Sadly, it's just not worth the time or money.

Could not finish. Poorly executed. I love this kind of plot but in this book 1. no chemistry between the hero and heroine 2. I wondered why the hero suddenly became obessed and protective of a heroine he never spoke to til chapter 1. I can be convinced of many tropes in romance but the author has make an effort to do so and this author effort was absent so I didn't buy the sudden romance 3. I skimmed ahead to see if the concept improved. It did not.

A modern look-alike-cindarella fairytale...there are some bad wolfes there, too LOL and some Shakespearean Romeo & Juliet elements as well
Take your pick...

although, the book did leave some questions unanswered

I am being generous with my rating. Before I go into why I gave it that rating, let me clear up 2 things.
1: I LOVE Wattpad stories, it is like a guilty pleasure even the crap stories I'll read
2: I have no problem with those "oh this came up we must get married for so and so reasons and fall in love later" type of stories, in fact I know a few who did such a great job that I gravitate towards them.
That being said, what a waste of money. I literally paid less for a book with 4x the amount of pages than this quick read. I was honestly pissed off that I paid more than I got. Another thing is the cover is so pretty, that is what drew in my attention. I had read a short snippet of it and was shocked that they were in high school but figured it is just starting off in HS and we continue the story with them as adults or as college students at the very least. But nope, they were high schoolers and no one had a problem with them suddenly being married.I think the writer is pretty decent at writing and I love fast paced stories but goodness this was just one thing after the next and it was not well transitioned, the characters were bi-polar, new characters were introduced at random times then "plot twist" after "plot twist" was thrown in to make it seriously unrealistic. I feel like the author decided to do something big in one chapter but never continued on with it afterwards, problems would just fade even though they were made out to be the biggest deal. I do not know if this is a spin off but I feel like it is because the male characters parents had more of a backstory than the actual lead and the author kept making it seem like you would be confused if you didn't know what happened and that you need to read their story first. Overall there were so many things wrong with this story and though it left with a "we can continue this because though problems are resolved we didn't get a great happy ever after" ending but I had no interest in spending even ZERO DOLLARS to read anything else. 1.3 out of 5

After reading the prequel I was very interested in this book unfortunately this book just didn't pan out. To read this book and enjoy it you have to leave all semblance of reality at the door, and I am not a reader who will read a book and say nope that won't happen, that won't happen. I realize authors take liberties and thats ok with me, I also don't mind when book are somewhat unrealistic. Its a book and I want my happy ending at all costs. However this book left my head spinning with how over the top and unrealistic it was.

What could have been a great book turned into a book I just wanted to finish. The hero is very possessive which I love but there was just too much that was wrong with this book, and we don't even get a real HEA. At one point while reading this book I actually thought (because of a word used) that this was a PR and then I though oh ok now it's making more sense since PR book can make all the rules up but I was wrong. In the end this book just was not what I had hoped, and I'm not sure if I would rate this a 1 1/2 star or 2 star rating, and I am left holding my tongue because the amount of scarcest and irritation I want to inject into the review would make it really really long.

He tries to break Kami's walls by showing her that she has the right to love. He vows to protect her. And for that he decides to marry her. Crazy right?! This book was interesting to read. There were situations that kept happening that I would have never imaged or expected. Each time you thought Kami's problems were over, new ones are formed.

Kami has been abused since she was a young girl. She believes her father had abandoned her and left her with her mother all because Kami was to inherit his mother's fortune. Kami is constantly abused and beaten by her stepfather and stepsister. They enjoy seeing her pain. Kami keeps herself distant from everyone to avoid any more trouble than she already has.

Brandon is the bad boy at school who is always getting into fights. He's never spoken to Kami before, but has always watched from a distant. He had watched her turn from an outgoing young child to a quiet withdrawn girl. He finally works up the nerve one day when he sees her in pain. He asks her what happened, but all Kami will give him is that she fell and hurt herself. Brandon doesn't believe a word of it.

Brandon follows Kami around school that day and changes his schedule. He tries to weasel his way under her skin to get her to finally answer him with the truth. Instead, it only causes more problems. Kami's stepfather spies and sees Kami with Brandon.

Things turn to worse when Kami gets home. Her stepfather tries to rape her, but Brandon arrive just in time to save her. Brandon comes up with an idea that will keep her away from her stepfather and stepsister forever. He wants them to go get married. Kami eventually caves.

Now that they're married, they need to figure out what their relationship will be like? Will they stay married after she inherits the money? Will they both stay faithful?

Once they feel comfortable with their relationship or start to grow close, something happens for the worse. can they make it through all the struggles they are soon to face or will it be too much for their fragile relationship to last?

No words

I don't know what to say, think, or feel. I mean, ok, let's try wow....whoa.....what. seriously, I'm the last person at a loss for words, but I'm just speechless. Ok, the intrigue and twists......just.....oh. my. God. The romance.....oh. my. I loved the characters. All of them. Good, bad, and ugly because they were just so well done. All of it was so well done. Now I know there will be a lot of readers that will wonder what the draw is, because really I'm wondering it myself. This is not my usual read. What made me give it a try, I know not. But I am so glad I did. I read the prequel first from Brandon's POV, and it intrigued me. I just knew I had to follow through and read this. Get the whole story. Honestly, I hope this is a happy for now and we get to follow them to college and maybe get the rest of their story from dual POV. At least just a follow-up. Would be so worth it because seriously they are a great couple. Readers will fall all over themselves falling in love with Brandon, he is just that good. Kami you will want to wrap up and hold her tight. One broken soul who you see grow. Steadily it went. The ending....what a surprise twist ending, but I just loved it. That's why I say....next book please.

cute read

This is a cute story of bad boy saves the invisible girl. Kami is being abused by her stepfather and home and goes to school trying to stay invisible but one day she can't hide good enough. Brandon has liked Kami for years and notices that she is in more pain than normal. He corners her and sees the extent of her bruises and pain. He takes her from school and tells her he's taking her to the cops. She begs him not to and to find another way. His plan B the was to get married and stay married until graduation to keep her safe. Past secrets are exposed between the two and during this time Kami and Brandon fall in love.
You can definitely spot the grammar mistakes which make some of the passages a little hard to read but you find out in the author synopsis she has dyslexia, so don't hold them against her. They story moves at a fast pace so it makes it a little unbelievable in some aspects but all in all is a cute read.

This was one Awesome Mafia book. This mafia book has become one of my favorites. This book has everything you expect it to have violence, sex, bribes, murder, physical abuse against woman, and torturing someone. If any of these things bother you than this isn't the book for you. This book had me feeling like I was on a roller coaster. One minute I am mad at the male characters in this book and the next I am going that is what I am talking about. Before you know it you are going OMG I didn't see that coming or I was going NO Way. The only reason I didn't give this book a 5 was because I didn't like how it ended. I know every author has a reason for how they end a story but I just didn't agree with how the last few chapters were written but everyone has a right to their own opinion. This book is worth spending the money to read. I am not saying I didn't enjoy reading the book because it was a great book. You will love this book.

DNF... I hate not finishing a book but this one was physically painful to continue. I'm 62 pages in but I was cringing from the very beginning. I tried to stick it out but.... NOPE!

The writing was awful, the dialogue was horrendous & the premise was ridiculous.

I could maybe understand Brandon marrying her if they had been friends for a long time & this was the solution. But they didn't speak to each other at all & then one morning BAM! He becomes obsessed with wanting to protect her.

Everything about this was terrible... EVERYTHING! No one talks like these characters do, especially high school kids.

There should be a drinking game that you take a shot for every time he says he wants to keep her safe & protected & every time she says she'll try but then pushes him away. I guarantee people will be smashed a quarter of the way thru which is probably the only way to finish this. Probably one of the worst books I've read.
