Alice is desperate for a change. When she mixes work with pleasure, it backfires. Quitting her job she once loved, she sets out on a new adventure with a new company. Best friend, Becks, thinks she needs a rebound. Though she is probably right, Alice isn’t sure how she feels about it. With high hopes, Alice keeps an open mind when she gets set up, but she’s quickly disappointed. Logan is cocky, brazen, and vain. Although he has a right to be because he’s hot, she just isn’t into that kind of guy. Thinking her time with Logan is over, she runs into him in the most unexpected way. They quickly become great friends when she starts to see the real him underneath the cockiness. Friendship turns into a scandalous game of love and work that’s supposed to be innocent. Then comes Ryder…. a sexy, mysterious, and dominant soul she meets at a bar. The three quickly become intertwined, and Alice has to decide which one will keep her heart safe regardless of how much they make her toes curl. Because all’s fair in love and work.
This book was amazing. The tension, the banter, the men in this book. I enjoyed it so much. Alice is an amazing FMC. The girl knows what she wants. Logan being a cocky dude at first and then super sweet made me love him more. And Ryder… I have no words for him. Please read this book. So great for Valentine’s Day and the perfect mix of spicy and sweet romance.
From the very beginning I was sucked into it. For me, this was a very quick easy read. The book reads in a way that is very easy to understand, which is also very important to keep me into a book.
The spice level was perfect and not over done. With Ryder’s dominance, and Logan’s confidence, it’s no wonder Alice did not want to choose between the two. I loved how descriptive the book was, so it made it super easy to be able to visualize what was happening through the book.
This book clocks in at just barely over 200 pages making it a quick, SPICY read!! It has some valentines themes and part of it occurs on Valentine’s Day.
When I first read this book I couldn’t remember if it was supposed to end up as a MF or MFM situation so I was cheering for team why choose aka both Ryder and Logan the whole time. Alice, our FMC, (and a lucky woman) did end up choosing a man but it turned into a fun thought process of “Am I Team Logan or Team Ryder.” In the end, my preferred MMC prevailed and it looked like the other MMC got his HEA too.

📖 My summary: Love & Work follows Alice and her need for change, only I don’t think she was expecting these changes. 👀 From a blind date to an unexpected “one night stand”, she finds herself not only navigating new career roles but also finds herself between two men… Which begs the question, “Do I have to choose?” - My question for you is, will you be Team Logan or Team Ryder? 🌶️✨
⭐️ My review: Do you ever wish you could talk to (yell at) a MC yourself? 😂 - This book was so fun to read. Aside from the perfect serving of spice, it had a fun plot to follow. I found myself laughing, and almost even crying, WITH the characters and the predicament they found themselves in. I would recommend this book for anyone who is wanting to get deeper into spicy books but also wants to keep the story aspect. I loved this book and cannot wait to see what all Dahlia comes out with in the future.
This book was the first I’ve read by Dahilia and definitely won’t be the last. The characters are all very likeable and you definitely won’t be able to stop yourself falling for the guys (Team Logan). There is some really funny dialogue between the FMC and the other characters that made me laugh out loud more than once, also the spice level is just perfect. The story is well paced and has a great flow, meaning I found it impossible to put down and finished the 325 pages in few hours. I didn’t even notice the raging storm trying to blow my house down.
This book had all of the wants when it comes to a spicy romance with two friends that become lovers with a side of sexy. The main characters are all likeable and you begin to root for them while enjoying the top spice levels. I’ll be reading more of this authors work I enjoyed it a lot
This book is the perfect mix of romance, banter, and spice! The love triangle keeps you hooked from the start, making it impossible to put down as you root for both love interests. But trust me, you will have a favorite!!! 🩷 The chemistry is off the charts, and the emotional depth adds so much to the story.
The banter between the characters is chef’s kiss—witty, playful, and full of tension in all the best ways. And let’s talk about the 🌶️ spice—this book delivers on every level. Plus, the multiple epilogues give readers a satisfying, full-circle ending that makes the journey even more rewarding.
If you love a romance that makes you laugh, swoon, and feel all the emotions, this is definitely a must-read!
If you want spice this book has it! You will love Alice and Logan and the sexy Ryder. Great storytelling of friends with benefits and unexpected love. Alice is a woman who is discovering what she wants in life and when these two men appear she discovers new wants.
I'm so happy that I got to read Love and Work early. The book was amazing. The banter, the spice, the emotional roller coaster we went through with Alice, Ryder, and Logan. My heart belonged to Ryder in the beginning but somewhere along the way Logan stole it. If you could combine Ryder's sultriness and Logan's way of making you laugh, you'd have the perfect guy.
A must read if you want a Valentines office romance. So the question is will you be team Ryder or team Logan?
"You were watching that girl about to get finger banged. No shame in that. I like watching too." -Logan
"Just breathe. I'm just here to help you. I don't want anything in return. I simply want to watch you come apart at my hands." - Ryder
"I'm here to take back what's mine" - Alice
I had the privilege of getting an early look at Love & Work before its release and I am SO happy I did! Reading the synopsis, I knew this was going to be a favorite read. What I wasn't prepared for was how much I would love this! Dahlia has done an amazing job pulling you in to Alice's (& Logan & Ryder's) lives just to take you on an emotional roller coaster.
I love Ryder because of how sultry he is but I love Logan bc of how funny he is. I quickly became Team Ryder but somewhere my heart betrayed me and moved to Team Logan. If I could, I'd merge them into 1 handsome, perfect man!
The spice is definitely doing it's job but in a way that not only enhances the plot but also drags you in to the emotions of each character. The spice sucked me in and the witty banter among characters while falling in love had me HOOKED.
This is a must read if you're looking for a super spicy, Valentine's day office romance with witty banter. And did I mention the spice? If anyone needs me I'll be hanging out in my apartment complex gym....
This book caught my attention in the first two chapters!! Aah! I would happily read this for the first time again!! Ryder caught me in his whirlwind from the very beginning, and Logans sweet, sweet soul! I'd take that adventure too, Alice! Talk about a night of fun 👀 I'm excited to see what Ryder has in store !
Let me tell you, there were two lines that HOOKED ME SO FAST
"You were watching that girl about to get finger banged. No shame in that. I like watching too." - Logan
"Just breathe. I'm here to help you. I don't want anything in return. I simply want to watch you come apart at my hands." - Ryder
Watching Logans banter and teasing result in the deal and seeing him fall with the intention not to, to trying something that was a bit out of his comfort zone, and realizing he was in love with her. Seeing Ryders' dominance and confidence. I can't wait to see where the next book takes us. The SPICE?? Excellent. 👏

DNF. Think I've realized me and contemporary romance aren't ever going to be on the same wavelength. This book felt rushed and I was given no reason why I should care about these characters. The frequent typos and clunky sentences constantly took me out of the story. This author has also published four books in the last few months and I wonder what attention she's been able to give to each.
EDIT 6/2: I read this on my Kindle, so I didn't know this book was not formatted whatsoever until I scanned the print sample. It looks like a manuscript one would draft in, or even my high school English essays, double spaced Times New Roman and all. I love to support indie authors, but it's books like this that dilute the whole market for everyone making a sincere effort to tell a good story.
Because there is no story here. No characters. Just incredibly juvenile, mechanical descriptions of sex that do the opposite titillate. As readers, we need to hold higher standards.
Love and Work" is a witty, heartwarming rollercoaster of emotions that I couldn’t put down!
a perfect blend of romance, humor, and unexpected twists in this delightful read. From Alice's relatable journey to Logan's irresistible charm, every page is packed with electric chemistry and laugh-out-loud moments. 😍✨
✨ What I Loved:
The sharp, flirty banter between Alice and Logan. 💬🔥 Authentic characters that leap off the page. 💕 A fun workplace romance with a twist of drama. 😏 This book is perfect for fans of romantic comedy with a touch of spice. You’ll laugh, swoon, and cheer for these unforgettable characters. Don’t miss out on this gem! 📖💘
I still have a bit to go in the book, but I couldn't wait to post a review. I loved this so much—the tension, the banter, and the characters! Oh my god, I loved the characters. And don't ask which team I'm on because honestly, the only answer is: why choose? 😅 If you need a spicy giggle, and to kick your feet up and yes, occasionally scream into a pillow, *Love and Work* is for you. It was an honor to receive this book as an ARC, and the author is genuinely one of the nicest and kindest people I have met. It was an honor and a pleasure to read this. Now go read it!
Damn you Dahlia 😂 all that spice had no business being in that few chapters 😂
~WARNING TO ALL READERS THAT WORKOUT WHILE READING~ Don’t do it 😂 you’ll end up like me… on your bike for nearly 2 hours burning over 600 calories and before you know it holding an 80lb resistance 😂 and then like me… you’ll have baby legs at work the next day 😂
Seriously though, I really enjoyed this one. Short and spicy, all the doors were open and I’m here for it. If you consider doing another… I’d LOVE a Ryder book please. 🥵

🌟🌟Review 🌟🌟 Y’all…. 🫣 this was my second read of the year & LET ME TELL YOU. I genuinely could not put it down!! 😍 This book had me in a chokehold 🥵 I usually don’t *love* contemporary cheesy romance, but something about Logan had me kicking my feet & giggling like a little school girl 🤭 I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend reading it!! The spice scenes are beautifully done, the characters are *chef’s kiss*, it’s sooooo worth the read!!
This was a cute book, but I have mixed feelings about it. The spicy scenes were SPICY 🥵 the plot had me intrigued the entire time. The characters were perfect! But the writing felt like it came from a high schooler. There were so many grammatical errors throughout the book, some pages were even filled with them. It doesn’t usually bother me to see this because nobody is perfect, but after what feels like the 100th time, it starts to get annoying. Aside from that though it was a great book!
Love work by Dahlia Dempsey is a story about finding love at work, and the other people you meet along the way. The book follows Alice, who works as an office administrator. After an office romance goes bad, Alice changes work and guys. She finds herself wanting both Logan and Ryder and thinks, does she have to choose?
Special thanks to Dahlia Dempsey for gifting me this advanced reader Copy.
Dahlia Dempsey delivers a smart, engaging, and emotionally compelling story in Love and Work, exploring the delicate balance between career ambitions and personal relationships. This book is perfect for readers who love romantic tension, personal growth, and the challenges of chasing both love and success.
I went in blind on this book, I'm not mad about it! The spice was spicing! I enjoyed watching Alice explore new things while also being careful of the guys feelings! I loved seeing Logan stand up for what he wanted and not just standing by. I love Ryder, but I didn't think he and Alice would be the end game.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and flew thru it!

This book was a cute love story that had you wondering if this was a why choose novel to then who is she going to choose? With an almost perfect romance, and a guaranteed HEA why not read it for valentines day?
It was okay. The characters felt a little flat, and there were some typos and spots that could have used a once-over. The story was cute and there were some spicy moments for sure if that’s what you’re looking for.
I really enjoyed this book the banter, the spice and story telling was great. The unexpected love and dynamic of the characters was something I really liked. The emotions this book pulls you through just makes you love it even more.

Rating edited - I’m going through my reads this year and trying to be more accurate in my thoughts/feelings and the why choose trope just WAS NOT for me at all.
⭐️⭐️⭐️— Love and Work had its bright spots, but I’m a little torn on this one.
Logan was absolutely the standout for me—charming, warm, and the kind of character that lights up every scene he’s in. Alice had some fun, spunky energy too, and I liked that she was ambitious and knew what she wanted… but I found myself frustrated with how she handled the situation between the two guys. It felt a little one-sided, like she wanted all the perks without really dealing with the emotional fallout.
I’ll be honest—I’m realizing the “why choose” dynamic just isn’t for me. I love some steam as much as the next reader, but I was hoping for a bit more substance behind the heat. And Ryder? Meh. Starting off with the whole “how fast can I get you in bed” vibe is just not my favorite trope.
That said, the writing itself is solid and engaging, and there were definitely moments that made me smile or feel invested. I think fans of the genre will love it more than I did—it just wasn’t totally my vibe.
