Book III in The Ulvvori Chronicles!

Nearly five years after inheriting the Midwinter Crown, Fen finds himself struggling under the weight of living up to his mother’s celebrated legacy, his disaffection with court politics, and his own maddening personal life. This book made me sob- but I will not rest until everyone I know adds it to their TBR.

I was obsessed with the series after the tandem read, but the obsession just got more intense with book three.
Seriously.
I wrote a fanfic.

So go read the tandem read so you can read this one *shooing motions*

**BETA READ**

Fen, our new King of Esmadia, faces a brand new set of challenges than his parents faced. Between love, ruling a kingdom, acceptance of his peers, family matters of all sorts, he is not dealt much of a break. But when family issues become more than Fen, Carro, or Asenna ever imagined, Fen must face his true past as well as a future he never bargained for.

Linehan did it again. I will forver be obsessed with these books. This one was spicier and definitely more emotional than the previous two. I cried so so so much, and if the royal family doesn't provide Fen with some much needed therapy, I may pitch a fit. The character development only continues to grow, the plot thickens at every turn of the page, and not once are readers bored or expecting where the story is going to go. Have your tissues handy, and follow Fen as he becomes the king he was always meant to be.

I received this book for free as an arc
I absolutely loved the first 2 books in this series. This one was a little harder for me. The first half just didn’t catch my attention the way the other ones did. It took a lot to push through for me. But once I hit the second half it really picked up and I started to enjoy it. The ending was absolutely beautiful and I’m excited to see what the next book has in store!

"Until the end of time, the end of days, until every single light in the damn sky goes dark, I will love you."

This book had me feeling all kinds of emotions. Happy, sad (definitely tears), angry, hopeful. Linehan does a great job of incorporating the story she has woven in the previous books, involving the new characters and keeping the old characters alive (mostly. Ouch.)

Chronicalling the adventure that King Fen, Marik, Einar, and Dariyus depart on, the story picks up years after Fen gets the crown. There are love, laughs, closed door romance, and some heartbreaking scenes. While the book focused on the younger cast of characters, I was delighted that we got to experience more Gaelin, Asenna, Carro, and the characters from the previous books. Along with the wolves as well. One of my favourite pieces of these books is seeing the connection between humans and wolves with the Wolfsight.

I loved the descriptions of all the new places the characters visit. The temples, the guardians, and the sacred pools. You could really envision where the characters were in the book depending on the environment and their feelings. The open and inclusiveness of the world is also refreshing. People can love whoever they want (there is still talk about propriety when they're royal), there are a peoples who have no gender associated, they/them, and a bunch of different body types. This makes a difference!

This felt like a massive epic, and unfortunately, I had a hard time at the end of the book. I understand that for backstory, dialogue, and story details, it needed to be that long, but it was just beginning to feel like a slog for me. The journey was getting a little repetitive, and if 2 of the characters said,'I love you' one more time, I was going to throw my Kindle. It was overbearing how much they said it, and while yes, they had experienced a lot during the book, in my opinion, I don't think it warranted that much of a sappy, outward show of love.

Overall, it was a good book, with lots of detailed writing, lots, and lots of characters (seriously read the previous 2 books beforehand or use the guide at the back to remember), and some serious emotional development.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

That ending.....had me in tears.....
I have loved this series from the beginning. This third book was so much more emotional, had a greater flow, and was much more bridged than the first. It just felt complete. The ending left me feeling excited for the next book! I need to know where Fen goes from here. Poor Fen, he is learning how to be the ultimate leader. Courage, bravery, fairness, leadership, and proving to his people that he will make the ultimate sacrifice for the better good. Finding out who is truly in your circle and there to build you up can be a hard lesson. I felt like I was there with him through every hard decision, mistake, and good time.
The world building was great! I loved the mythology, history, and the unknown. I felt like there were many new elements that I really enjoyed. I was able to learn more about Izlani and the world Fen lives in.
This book is full of adventure, love, betrayal, and sacrifice. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Thank you R.H. Linehan for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book! This review was written voluntarily and all opinions are my own.

Such a refreshing fantasy read! I was not sure how this story would play out being book 3 in the Ulvvori Chronicles. Oracle King begins with Fen as he navigates his role as King and tries to make a name for himself after proceeding his Mother’s peacemaking legacy. Thrown into chaos caused by two strangers across the continent, Fen fights to save his family, kingdom, and the magic that flows through his world.

I loved the magic system and the mythology! Where book 1 and 2 have lots of character development and some world building, this explores beyond the shores of Esmadia and Kashait and takes a deep dive into the Magic’s history. While we get to enjoy all of our favorite characters from previous books, we get to meet some new ones.

Will there be a book 4? Idk but I’ll be sure to add it to my TBR.

I was graciously gifted a copy of the book by R.H. Linehan and I am excited to be able to leave a review.

This book broke me in the best possible way. Fen deals with so much in this book and I really just wanted to give him a hug the entire time. I loved seeing how the relationships between the characters from previous books have developed and how they love and support each other and
especially Fen.

The politics and world building add to the story as they are beautifully and intricately built and drive the story forward towards resolution of the plot. The development of community and supporting the primary characters of the series is beautiful.

I sincerely hope there is more to this series and I will absolutely continue to read it if there is.

Linehan has absolutely killed it with the Ulvvori Chronicles thus far. The Oracle King was a bit more spicier than the previous books, and 100% more emotional - my heart took a bit of a beating on this adventure. I teared up multiple times. The relationship between Carro and Fen will forever be my favorite. Their banter heals something in me...probably because Carro has been my fav MMC so far.

Book III opens 5 years after Fen inherits the Midwinter Crown. He faces the pressures of measuring up, heartbreak, and fear of what he is or could become. The characters continue to develop together with the rising conflicts and the arrival of a stranger with unruly plans. Make sure to have your tissues handy and be ready to see Fen through to the end as he steps up to the tasks at hand, and becomes into the king he was destined to be.

*Thoughts*: Beautifully written. Creatively executed. A MUST READ for all fantasy readers.

I absolutely fell IN LOVE with the Ulvorri chronicles the second I met Asenna. I was a little nervous going into the second and third with it slowly turning away from her and Carro and more toward the remainder of their growing family but man, did R.H. Linehan keep me going. Her writing, story telling, and world building are all enthralling and I simply cannot get enough. I didn't think it got better with those two but Sage and not so little Fen stole my heart all over again. I truly think this is a must read for the fantasy genre with the concepts of family, fate, and having it all hang in the balance. This series is so underappreciated and needs to get out there!

I had the absolute pleasure of beta reading this book, after ARC/Beta reading the first two in the series. This author (and series) has such a special place in my heart. I love it so freaking much!

RH has this ability to build worlds like no other. This book in particular is incredibly disruptive and full of feels (you feel like your in the story, standing next to Fen).

I literally could not put this down. I legit read 90% of it in one day. I also cried a LOT so uh, be ready for that.

Forever greatful for RH's writing, and her beautiful characters.

Wow! I will say this book was amazing! The first two books of the series have tons character development as you get to know each individual and their own stories whereas this one dives into the fantasy realm.

You learn about all the places that truly build this beautiful world.

Fen learns tough lessons. All the characters learn some tough lessons but overall this book ends on a great note.

Honestly, I had no idea where this plot would take us. It was not predictable in anyway and made me want to keep reading!

Wow. This book gave me the entire spectrum of emotion a human can experience. What an incredible story!

Following along Fen's journey of growth is incredible. All of the side characters, if you can even call them that, are so well written, I feel like I know them irl.

There were plot twists and love triangles and deceit and heartbreak and joy, monsters and magic and gods, and especially dire wolves. Go read the series. You won't regret it.

Epic saga detailing Fen’s quest to save the wolf sight! This was a long, but good read. It had me laughing, crying, hoping and wishing the best for the main characters. I love the world that R.H. Linehan had created and hope that there will be more to come!
This review was left in exchange for an arc of this amazing book!

“I'm a Wolf Rider. I can swim against the current, and I can climb in spite of the wind, and I can run up the steepest mountain. And I am not going to let my family down. Not when I've already come this far.”

Loved this! Definitely my fave out of the series so far! I love how complex every character is, and Fen is so flawed but also so lovable and inherently good. Can’t wait for book 4, but also never want to say goodbye to these characters!

Oh my hemel, this is such a good continuation of The Ulvvori Chronicles. My heart hurts. R.H. fknows how to get those tear ducts flowing. I can't count how many times I started crying while reading this. The characters are so well written that it's easy to feel connected to all of them.

Me, in Rae's DMs: "The last like 15% of the book had me crying my face off."

Note: This follows The Midwinter Queen and Scars & Sketches, which are best read in tandem.

Five years after inheriting the crown, Fen has yet to fully grow into the role, often left feeling like no one listens to him or takes him seriously - despite being the dang king. One night, Fen and his dire wolf Sage feel something no one else in the kingdom feels, and the realize it's related to the Midwinter Mountains. He assembles a group to travel with him and determine what has happened, and try to protect both his kingdom and the Ulvvori.

Fen, Fen, Fen. Despite being a (mostly) fully formed adult, he still has so much growing to do at the start of the book. His character arc within TOK is a fantastic journey, but R.H. ensures it's not a neatly tied up growth. Fen GOES. THROUGH. IT. and doesn't come out the other side unscathed. He has some BIG FEELINGS that don't really get resolved, and the heartbreaks he goes through left me reeling. Rae writes an excellent heartbreak.

The introduction of the new characters and places essential to the plot were very well written, seamlessly blending into what we already knew, and continuing to shape the world where Esmadia is. I also loved the queer rep!

I absolutely loved the tandem read of the first two books, and didn't think anything could top it. I was wrong. I can admit that. TOK ruined me in all the best ways. Einar, Fen's brother, is a fantastic secondary character, going off and doing things I never expected. And that big brain of his is swoon-worthy.

I graciously received an eARC from R.H. Linehan! My opinions are my own.

Truly loved this series. Such a refreshing take on the Fantasy genre. This book ripped my heart out and left me empty with ending and I need another book asap. I love how non-cliche this whole series is! I loved the balance of action and romance this series has!

This book 😭

I have said in the previous books, I love how different the storyline is, and it's not your cookie-cutter fantasy, and I will continue to say so.

For the love of Ulvvori, finish what you're reading and pick this series up!
