Rockwood Valley Omegaverse #4

Talk About... Trouble

Rate this book
I’d always heard Rockwood Valley had a way of healing people, could it fix an omega like me?

Betrayed, abused, and left to be the scapegoat, I never imagined I’d wind up facing my ex-best friend, Avery Whitaker again.

After rehashing one of the worst nights of both of our lives, she makes me promise to give this town and new life a chance.

The trouble is that Rockwood Valley has a whole lot more in store for me than simply healing.

My omega roommate makes it very clear that he’s interested, and despite all my baggage, I’d love nothing more than to fall into his arms.

Is it wrong that I’m also pining for the sexy alpha bar owner, who happens to be my best friend’s brother? Then there’s my grumpy alpha boss and his beta best friend that are already treating me like I’m theirs.

Everyone tells me I should focus on myself, yet when these men accept this new version of me with open arms, I’m ready to throw caution to the wind and make them mine.

My past doesn’t get to define me anymore…

Talk about… Trouble, is a standalone why choose omegaverse in the Rockwood Valley Series, with sweet packs, stubborn but strong omegas, and the small town that they call home. This pack has two omegas, one male and one female and everyone in the pack is with both omegas. Wren has been through a lot of trauma and there are mentions of her past abuse and assaults.

Really did not like anything about this. Just blah. I have enjoyed the other books in series but this was just rushed and meh.

A bit rushed

This felt like watching a movie on fast forward, but I still enjoyed it. It had insta-content better suited to a novella, but plot points enough for two books.

Least favorite book in the series. Listed as a standalone, but definitely is not. The story is incredibly rushed and you never get the chance to really know the characters. I had to force myself to finish it.

not a true standalone
Cannot be read and fully enjoyed/understood (especially the first part) without reading Talk about... History first. And maybe more of the series, I don’t know, but Wren and Avery’s story are so important to this book, that without the context and history of Avery’s story, it is just an «kinda ok»-read, and not that deep or emotional as it probably was meant to be.

This brings our Rockwood Valley small town full circle. We first meet Wren in book 1 when Avery walks in on her with her (now) ex pack.

Throughout the series we've gotten snippets that suggest that interaction wasn't...above board.

After everything Wren heads to Rockwood Valley at Avery's behest and decides to stick around to try and heal her dormant omega.

Along the way she meets Devon (omega roommate) who is adorable. Shepard (alpha who owns animal sanctuary) is her boss, Nash (alpha triplet no. 3), and Braxton (beta vet tech).

Thanks to her dormant omega, no one realises they're mates with Wren (well, except Dev who is adamant that he 'knows'). Despite this they're all enamoured with her.

I loved that both omegas get equal attention. They are both the centre of the pack and have two separate heats where their heats are about THEM.

A great conclusion to a great series of standalones.

As I read Avery’s book, I hated Wren for all the pain and suffering she put Avery through, then at the very end of Oriana’s book we find out that Wren was a victim just as much as Avery was. Going into this book there was still a part of me that disliked her so much, but reading everything she had gone through made me more sympathetic towards her.

Before the truth about Avery’s old “pack” ruined Wren’s life, she loved animals and was a vet tech and when an opportunity to work at Shepherd’s animal sanctuary presents itself, she takes it.
Devon and Wren become roommates at the beginning of the book with Grace, who is one of Avery’s friends. Devon has this instant pull towards her and sense her omega has been dormant, neither of them knew they were each other’s scent matches.

Shepherd’s animal sanctuary is full of feisty animals that I enjoyed reading about. Braxton is a vet and Shepherd’s best friend. Nash co-owns his family bar, Whitaker Brews which he takes the back burner on.

While this book was centered around Wren and her past and her dormant omega, I liked how it has Devon’s heats more so over Wren’s. I liked that comparison and how different the dynamics of each other’s relationships are from the previous books; Devon being not only scent matches for one of the guys, but all three of them and Wren. I also liked how it showed how supportive Wren, Shepherd, Brax, and Nash was of Devon’s plans to build his own business, Devon’s Dates.

There’s amazing banter between the characters, excellent spice, supportive friends and family and feisty animals!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 "Rockwood Valley? More Like Rockwood Fantasy" 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Oh. My. Stars. This book had me kicking my feet, screaming into my pillow, and fanning myself like a proper Southern belle with a case of the vapors. (Spoiler alert: The vapors were 100% thirst.)

Our poor omega MC starts out battered, bruised, and betrayed, but honey, does Rockwood Valley deliver a redemption arc that serves. Not only is there emotional healing, but there’s also a whole buffet of ridiculously attractive, doting, and possessive love interests just waiting to worship at his feet. I mean, we’ve got:

💥 A spicy omega roommate who is very interested (and same, babe, same).
🔥 A swoon-worthy alpha bar owner who just so happens to be off-limits (as if that ever stopped anyone).
😈 A grumpy alpha boss + his smooth-talking beta bestie who are already acting like they’ve claimed him.

And the best part? No one is here to fix our MC—they just see him, scars and all, and adore him anyway. Be still, my polyamorous-loving heart!

The chemistry? Explosive. The angst? Delicious. The found family vibes? Perfection. And the steam? Whew, somebody get me a cold drink! If you love a damaged-but-not-broken omega finding his strength (and the ridiculously hot men who help him do it), this is the book for you.

Final verdict? Run, don’t walk, to Rockwood Valley. You won’t want to leave. 😍🔥

There is a very consistent style in this series, with protective pack members, characters healing from past hurts and overcoming it all to come together in a beautiful new family, with the small town of Rockwood Valley being supportive to their journey. "Talk about... Trouble" is a full-on poly story with a male and female omega forming their pack around them, introducing some new characters and adding some characters we already met in the past. It's not necessary to have read the first three books in the series, but there is a connection between the first book and this one, so if you have plans on reading the entire series I highly suggest starting with book one.

I feel the intense need to say something about a certain scene in this book, but I also don't want to give away any spoilers, which makes it extremely hard to say anything meaningful about it. However, if you love a tattooed grumpy alpha doing something extremely cute and out of character for his omega, you will love the same scene as much as I did. I truly became a puddle on the floor with how cute it was. I'm not sure if I can mention a favorite main character for this book, but my favorite side characters were definitely the animals. They made the book even better!

Wren's story and pack are my new favourites in this series! Absolutely loved every minute of this book and couldn't put it down when I started! Wren's doubts and insecurity from what Avery's former "pack" did comes across clearly and absolutely loved her outlet being colouring books. I just want the Rockwood Valley universe to keep going as just love it.

Wren's pack is just a winner in my books. Her Alphas, Nash and Shepherd, both are sweethearts. Devon, her other omega, is amazing; absolutely love his bossy, sassy attitude! His business ideas was a killer idea too. Finally there is Braxton, the lovely beta, whose got a big heart and has been weighed down from obligations to his siblings which is so sweer.

Nash had killer dates planned for both Wren and Devon throughout. Shepherd's ways of handling Wren's panic attacks/outbursts was just so sweet with letting her colour in his tattoos! Bonus points for him running an animal sanctuary! Braxton's guilt over his siblings' condition due to his parents and his planning trips to the farm for them melted my heart.

I can't recommend Wren's book enough, absolutely my favourite of the universe so far!

There was so much to love about this one. Wren coming to Rockwood Valley to heal after everything she’s been through was really a leap of faith. She was being courageous hoping that those close to Avery would accept her and have moved on. Now we get to finally know the full story about what was really going on with Avery’s ex-pack, and they were involved in manipulative and criminal behavior. Wren is matched with two omega roommates, and friendships begin to form, but it doesn’t end there. She also gets support from the girl squad, though she wasn’t counting on Avery’s besties being so accepting. After all she’s been through, her omega is dormant, and she doesn’t realize she is a scent match for the men entering her life, but she’s still got her hands full with Devon, Shepard, Nash, and Braxton. Things move quickly in this one when they do start to happen, and Wren’s omega won’t be denied after having been dormant for so long. In this pack the real treat is that both omegas get equal time in the spotlight.

Talk About...Trouble is book four in the Rockwood Valley Omegaverse Series. It is a small town, why choose, omegaverse romance with found family vibes.

Wren is a traumatized omega looking for a fresh start. She lands in Rockwood Valley where her ex besty, Avery lives. There she finds everything she could have dreamed of and more.

This was an emotional and entertaining read that I truly enjoyed. Wren, Devon, Shepherd, Braxton, and Nash are all perfect for each other. I loved the theme of healing and how the pack comes together and heals one another. I also loved the wittiness and banter created by the omegas and the quirky animals.

The writing, characters, character development, relationship development, storytelling, and world building are all awesome. I am loving this series and honestly can't wait for more.

We love a redemption (ish) arc

We meet Wren briefly in book one and .....b*tch.
Then you read the rest of the series and you start to understand the events that led up to the situation and this book really brings home the after effects of it.

I'm really glad that we actually get to see Wren in a positive light and in a situation where she is fully supported and feels comfortable around people again.
To see the individual members separately they don't make sense personality wise but together perfect for each other and we finally got the last Whitaker triplet packed up.
we love to see it.

All in all it was such a cozy read and the angst levels were low (at least for me). It also has one of my favorite OV pairings... A male and Female omega couple.

If you liked the first three, you will 100% like this one.
And if you haven't given this series a try yet you definitely should.

I absolutely adored this pack.

The plot is very soft yet, deep. The FMC of the book is definitely dealing with some trauma and it comes up several times throughout the book, but her pack help her through it with such gentleness and understanding, you feel like you're wrapped up in a warm, fuzzy blanket for most of the read. They come together as a pack so easily and openly that you can't help but love them, and how each member compliments each other even though they are almost all strangers to each other. Perfect. You absolutely have to read this book.

This book includes a pack with two omegas, 1 female and 1 male. It also has 1 male beta and 2 male alphas. All the males love on both the omegas...soo much love. It was fun that our feisty male omega Devon was very loud about accepting nothing less. His loyalty to Wren is exactly what fairytales are written about.

Jarica has done a FABULOUS job of writing these 4 interconnected standalone books (I can't imagine that's easy to do). With some, the "connected" parts are limited. But she managed (at least here) to have quite a bit of interaction from characters from previous books, especially Avery and Nash's mom.

Anyhow...I had actually forgotten about the drama between Avery and Wren way back when and I loved how it was dealt with: how Avery - and the town - supported her, and the way that her trauma wasn't swept under the rug yet showing her strength thanks to help from the guys.

I also love how unique this story is that the pack is formed randomly throughout. There might be two people already together but then the others start to form. We get to see how it all comes together at the same time their relationship with Wren is starting.

I'm just sad there's no more books in the series!

I just love books with more than one omega, and this one was perfect. Devon and Wren, the two omegas, were a perfect fit for each other and their characters really made for a great Omegaverse book.

I have loved the Whitaker brothers in the earlier books in this series, and I was so thrilled to see Nash finally find his omegas and happiness. Braxton and Shepherd were an interesting duo, making for a pretty eclectic group of pack members. The omegas though really brought everyone together and made them the perfect pack.

I really enjoyed this series. It was the perfect combination of small town and Omegaverse, and I loved seeing characters from the earlier books in each later book. Overall, all of the books were excellent.

The final book in the series and such a great way to finish the siblings stories in Rockwood Valley. I loved getting to see each character come into their own and work together as a found family. Communication was big in the book between the main characters and the spice did not disappoint. I truly enjoyed every book in this series for their different views into the family and their bonds with their mates and their families. I loved the focus on two omegas and how they complimented and brought the best out in each other. I felt so much emotion reading the trials that the FMC went through and her absolute acceptance and love from everyone important to her without having to prove she's worthy. I can't wait to see what's next for Jarica and her omegaverse books.

ARC Review

I have been so excited about this book since the ending of the last book! It lived up to my excitement! I loved Wren and the fact that she didn’t let her trauma completely hold her back from her happily ever after. Devon was the perfect person for her to connect with first and the way he cares for her through the book was perfect. I actually enjoyed having two omegas in this book. I loved that none of the characters tried to fight against being together and instead trusted the scent-match. This series is one of my favorite series! Pre-order this book now and if you haven’t, check out the first three books on this series of interconnected stand-alones!

This felt like a full circle moment. The Whitaker’s are all packed up and we got closure for Wren who was introduced in the very first book with the scandal that kicked off this entire series. She was best friends with Avery up until that moment. In Talk About…Trouble, we see Wren moving Rockwood Valley and making amends with Avery over their shared trauma. She also meets her scent match pack. I was so happy to see Nash get his pack! He’s always been a riot in the previous books, so watching him get his HEA left me with all the happy feels.

Saving the best for last, this is my favourite pack in the Rockwood Valley omegaverse, hands down.

This was the story I was most excited to read about once the FMC was revealed and it didn't disappoint.

I loved the dynamic with the 2 omegas, everyone was together with both of them, and there was no resisting the bond once scent matches were found.
Wren, Devon, Nash, Shepherd and Braxton were all perfectly imperfect, they held each other up if anyone struggled.

I highly recommend this entire series!

On the omegaverse train and this is a fantastic one and the last in a series of four connecting ones. No need to read all but you'll understand some crossover characters. This one is about Wren and she meets Avery again, her ex best friend but Avery pursuades Wren to come to Rockwood Valley. Taking the charmes of the town Wren decides to take her chances and decides to stay. Now she also finds out that one of Avery's brothers is her scent match and also meets a few others and they just fit together. A sweet love story and I love it!

I have loved this series but this one is my favorite! I was not sure how I was going to like Avery, but I loved her! Reading her story changed my options of her very quickly. Avery moves to Rockwood Valley to start over and hopefully reconnect with Wren, She meets Devon another Omega and they have Instant chemistry. She then meets Nash, Wren’s brother and finds out they are mates,She gets a job at an animal sanctuary where she meets two more mates. I loved all the characters in the book and how good they were for each other. I highly recommend this book and the others!

Sweet Wren deserves her happy ending

I was so glad Wren got to have her happy ending. After being used by some terrible alphas she has worked hard to heal. Moving to Rockwood Valley turned out to be the best decision. She meets her omega mate who helps her work through healing her omega. Getting to see the pack come together and be so dedicated to their omegas was perfect. I loved how they all worked to treat all pack members with care so no one was left out. This seemed like the perfect end to this series. I loved Rockwood Valley!

Nash

I’m not gonna lie, my favourite is still book 3 with Oriana, Cameron and their pack.
Was nice to see Nash get his Omega well two Omegas and his pack. wren was famous in book 1.
This series is just amazing, rockwood valley is the perfect town for a omegaverse series. Alphas who fight and protect their packs and every omega are just incredible, and don’t get me started how the betas, don’t think they get enough credit.

Wren’s story was everything you want from entertainment, a little different and easy going. She hadn’t had the best start but she deserved her hea ❤️

Wren’s story was perfect! She went to Rockwood Valley for a fresh start and found everything she could ever want. Found family, friends, and a supportive town. I love the organic way the pack formed around Wren, despite her omega being dormant. Devon, Nash, Shepherd, and Braxton were surprised but so happy to find each other scent-matched to Wren. Lots of spice and low angst. I love this town and the people in it.

We finally got to meet the best friend who betrayed Avery in the first book of the series. If you read the first 3 books you know the detailed of what really happen with the betrayal and now, we got to see if from Wren's point of view. I have loved this entire series this one is no different. We also get to see the final triplet find his pack! Devon and Wren collect them a cute little family and it gives me all the good feels

solid

Really like the story and how Wren finally got her happily ever after, but I feel like as this series has progressed the spice levels have dropped. I was honestly expecting more, especially with two omega’s, but that was not the case.

Still a really great story and great character development, I just personally would like to have seen more spice.

I will definitely continue reading books by this author, and if you haven’t, you should check out the catalog 👍

I loved this whole series but this one was a bit of a let down. The story felt so rushed and was missing a lot of details that I felt were missing. For example, a few times in the book it time jumped to 2 weeks or 2 months later after big events. After completing I checked out the page count in each book and this one’s 60-70 pages shorter than the rest of the books, but creating a better blend between time jumps would have made it a much more well rounded story
