Tess wants nothing more than to prove werewolves are real, and that she's not crazy. Traveling to a small, unknown, hidden town in Montana seems like her best opportunity to do so. As Sheriff, Ryder wants nothing more than to keep his town of non-humans safe from the outside world, and keep all the nosy conspiracy theorists as far away as possible. Something which used to be easy, until a fiery redhead waltzed in and smelled better than any female he's ever scented. Unable to convince her to leave, or get her out of his head, Ryder decides he needs to convince her to keep their secret. Can a werewolf bewitch a werewolf hunter without falling in love himself?
Bewitched by the Werewolf is a standalone book of the highly-addictive paranormal romance series, The Bewitching Hour. If you’re thirsting for magic and mayhem, spicy slow burn, and witty banter, then you’ll be ensnared by this quirky, sexy, and super fun series. Perfect for fans of Wednesday Addams, Bewitched, and Practical Magic.
Rebecca Rennick, known to her friends as Becca was born in California but has since converted into a Floridian. Along with her husband, and dog. With love for both horror films and the Hallmark Channel, she can be a little dark and creepy while wearing all pastel pink. Growing up in the theater led to her studying fashion in San Francisco where she received a BFA in fashion design. She has many obsessions such as tattoos on herself and others. As well as an unhealthy desire to see the entire world. Her only other true passion is eating. She loves to try everything at least once. You only have one life and you might as well try it all. Except meth, don't try meth.
What started as a pause ended up as a full DNF at 52%.
I wanted to try to finish since I’ve been having the worst damn luck vibing with this series, but I can’t get over how irked I got with the fmc.
She didn’t annoy me in the beginning, & there are personality traits of hers I do like. It’s just the way she’s went about sticking her nose in others’ business, being annoyingly persistent & crossing boundaries on their privacy, all to try to undo her trauma… But it’s not their problem & they’re still people! Ryder even tells her this after confirming her suspicions, which she considers for a hot second & then decides she doesn’t give a shit & still demanded more, at the expense of their privacy & possibly safety, like a selfish, entitled fucking brat. That completely ruined her character for me & I just can’t root for her anymore.
It was really difficult for me to even get into this story until around 29% when the mcs really started to cross paths. I’ve read the gummy bear series from this author & liked them so I was anticipating liking this book too, but guess not.

After being the only witness to seeing a werewolf attack on humans, Tess grew up knowing what she saw yet no one believed her. And now as an adult, it’s her absolute life mission to find proof werewolves are real.
She gets coordinates from someone anonymous to where she’ll find her werewolves. Off she goes.
Ryder, a shifter and the sheriff of Snowberry takes his job to keep all shifters in Snowberry safe from the general public and keep this town quiet and off the radar. But once in a while, a pesky human finds the place and Tess is seriously getting on his nerves. She’s nosey. Asking too many questions and trampling through the woods looking for something.
I loved the banter between these two. I thought they were hilarious with the perfect mixture of sexual tension. And seriously enjoyed reading this. Perfect amount of delicious spice for me. Adorable HEA. I’m really interested in reading about other characters you read about. This author is climbing to be a favorite of mine!
I just want to say thank you to this lovely author for a ARC of this book!
This was an absolute delight from start to finish. This cozy paranormal romance was such a great read that I just want to read it again.
The strength of this book lies in its characters, Tess and Ryder. Their dynamic is irresistible, Tess with her spark and determination, and Ryder embodying the quintessential grumpy sheriff. His attempts to keep her at arm’s length only make it more satisfying when his shifter side begins to shine through. Their banter is sharp, playful, and endlessly entertaining, making me laugh so much.
Beyond the romance, the world itself is beautifully crafted, with just the right blend of whimsy and atmosphere. It feels immersive without ever becoming overwhelming, creating the perfect backdrop for a story that’s equal parts cozy and enchanting.
This is the kind of book that left me smiling long after I had finished. Bewitched by the Werewolf is a must read for anyone who loves grumpy-sunshine romances, magical settings, and stories that wrap around you like a warm blanket.
Tess ventures to the small town of Snowberry, and is determined to prove werewolves exist. She was a really fun character, I liked her sass and determination, and her ability to rile up the local sheriff. Ryder was grumpy and easily agitated, but very protective of his town and his fellow shifters. I enjoyed the cosy vibes of the town, and all the quirky and friendly shifters that lived there. I liked the tension building between Tess and Ryder, all his confusion at being drawn to her, and trying to keep the towns secrets, and all their flirting with each other. Despite her being an amateur hunter, she comes to understand the paranormal world isn't the threat she thought, and I loved how accepting Tess becomes. This is a cosy paranormal read, with a touch of spice, lots of heated tension, and a sweet hea.
Whilst this is part of the Bewitching Hour series, it’s set in the same world as the Snowberry Novels series, with fun nods to familiar characters and storylines. If anything, it just makes you want to go and read them (if you haven’t already) to see how it all connects!
That said, you don’t need to have read those books (like myself) to enjoy this one — it stands perfectly well on its own.
I really liked the way the main characters bickered, bantered, and generally got under each other’s skin. Their chemistry totally worked on the page. The omegaverse element added a nice twist to the small-town vibe too.
It’s not my absolute favourite Rennick read, but it still had her signature pull - and brought a cosy, seasonal feel with a touch of spice with a fun paranormal twist.
This is listed as part of the Bewitching Hour series. However, it is also part of the Snowberry Series.
This runs during the same timeframe as Sing Sweet Nightingale (Snowberry). We are introduced to Ryder during Nightingale and know he’s dealing with Tess at the time. But this is Ryder’s and Tess’ story. 🪢 Tess had an encounter with a werewolf when she was 10, which lead her to become a werewolf hunter. Her family called her crazy and she even spent time in an institution. Now someone sends an anonymous message with coordinates to the middle of nowhere. Only, when she arrives, it’s not nowhere; it’s a cute small town getting ready for an influx of visitors for the Blood Moon. How does everyone know about this place since there is no record of it existing online?
Ryder is a wolf shifter, sheriff of Snowberry, and Beta to his Brother, Hunter, who is Mayor of Snowberry. The Blood Moon is coming, shifters are arriving for the celebrations and the need to shift during the eclipse. But there is this pesky Human in town asking too many questions about “werewolves”. 🪢 Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🪢 This was a fun and spicy paranormal shifter romance…with knotting, of course.
I loved seeing what Ryder was up to this whole time.
The banter and chemistry was fun.
I love this small town and all of the non-humans. 🪢 I haven’t read any of the other Bewitching Hour books, but have read the other Snowberry books.
Although the Snowberry books are all standalones, I would read Sing Sweet Nightingale first. Then you can read Pocket Full of Posies and Bewitched by the Werewolf in any order. 🪢
It felt so good to be back in Snowberry Springs! I have been craving Ryder and Tess’s story for what feels like forever and let me just say it did not disappoint!!
Tess has been called crazy since she was 10 bc no one wanted to believe she actually saw werewolves! She literally made a career trying to prove their existence when an anonymous tips comes through about their possible whereabouts!
Ryder, the sheriff of our beloved Snowberry Springs, has to do whatever it takes to make sure she keeps Snowberry an absolute secret! The only problem? He can’t seem to deny his attraction to her!
The banter in this book had me cracking up! The undeniable chemistry between these two was absolutely delicious! Not to mention the whimsical setting of this whole story makes me wish I could visit Snowberry for myself!
If you love: ✨Paranormal Romance ✨Shifters ✨He Falls First ✨Annoyance To Lovers ✨Primal Chase ✨Fated Mates
Do yourself a favor and check this one out! It is the perfect fall read!!
Bewitched By The Werwolf is part of a collab series called The Bewitching Hour series! Several authors have teamed up to give us some incredible paranormal romance reads! I can’t wait to check them all out!
Tess has spent nearly two decades determined to rove that werewolves exist, based on an experience she had when she was just eight years old. When she follows an anonymous lead into the middle of nowhere, she finds herself in the midst of dozens of supernatural beings and also in hot water.
Wolf shifter Ryder is the sheriff of Snowberry, and he takes his solemn duty seriously. Although there are several humans who’ve mated supernaturals, a big part of his job is helping assure that humans at large never discover the truth about the denizens of the town. When he encounters Tess, however, he finds himself drawn to her and unable to run her off as he normally would any outsider.
This was an okay shifter romance with a bit of mystery. I hadn’t read any of the previous books in the series, but this worked as a standalone nonetheless,
I received an advance reader copy from bookfunnel, and I’m sharing my honest review.
I absolutely ADSORBED Sing Sweet Nightingale so when I saw that Sheriff (daddy) Evans was getting his own book I was pumped! And enemies to lovers to less, for sure one of my favorite tropes.
It felt amazing to jump back in and see Ryder again. The grumpy beta won my heart in the first book. His role as the protector of the town was shifted after meeting Tess and I loved seeing him crumble under the curious human (sometimes literally) His past and how it connects to Tess was interesting to unravel.
Tess’s character was almost completely new but I felt like she was properly fleshed out had such a flirty and fun while still managing to feel serious when she spoke about her ambitions. Tess needed a community; she needed people who would be there for her no matter what and Snowberry definitely gave her that.
I really hope we get to see Ginger’s story in the future as well as other townies. I love the town of Snowberry and i can’t wait to hopefully visit again in the future.
I originally hated this FMC and really had to push myself to get into this book instead of grabbing something else. But soon after Tess gets into town and starts interacting with people, she is so much better. The story really picked up, and I couldn't turn pages quick enough. I was a little upset that one major plot line ended completely off page and was almost an afterthought to close it when it could have been left open for a potential sequel, or even written out of the story completely. Overall, it was a very enjoyable read and has the most spice out of The Bewitching Hour series so far.
🐺 Welcome back to Snowberry 🐺 Shifters 🐺 Fated Mates 🐺 Grumpy Sheriff 🐺 Paranormal Romance
I love this series honestly, I was so excited to get back to Snowberry. I was great to see Lottie and Daisy 🌼🩷
I was really hoping to get a Ryder story. I love the grumpy x curious semi sunshine that was going on here. Tess was really something else 😆 I loved her determination. I also felt for her with her backstory of why she was so heavily set on proving werewolves and existed. With all of Rebecca’s books there is the perfect amount of enjoyable banter, spice and everything you need in a fun paranormal romance.
I love Ryder but this frustration was so funny. “She called me daddy, smells like apples, and will not listen to anything I say.” Is what did it for me 😆😆 Him showing up to his brothers and saying that with no context beforehand was hilarious.
I really love Ryder and Tess! I also just love the plot of this book and that the timeline happens directly with Hunter and Lottie’s love story. I love seeing Hunter in love through his brother’s eyes, it was just a really nice detail to see. I’m still a Hunter girl but I do love Ryder.
From the beginning Tess drew my attention, I needed to know what her deal was, what she was all about. The mere fact that she started a blog to prove the existence of werewolves was a genius move. Except, she's not perceived as a "scientist" but as a looney. She's about ready to throw in the towel, years of dedication yielded zilch, and then, she gets some coordinates from an anonymous source, and, after careful deliberation, gives it here last hey ho. I liked her, a lot. I like how the author gave her credibility, and drive, not only has she got a huge point to prove to all the nay sayers, she has a point to prove to herself. The author really dug deep into her fears and resolve and what emerged was a very insecure but determined individual. Not one to hide behind her beauty and wit, she utilities it as a magnificent weapon. She's sassy and snarky and not afraid to say what's on her mind. And then she meets sheriff Ryder....
Ryder is sheriff of a mainly supernatural town with barely passable people skills. He's a very serious guy and frivolity isn't one of his talents. He takes his job very seriously indeed, hence the outwardly severe, unsmiling facade. With the blood moon approaching and an Elf coming to town, he's on high alert. Yeah, he's moody and broody but sexy as heck! I really enjoyed the dual POV, Ryder's POV was hilarious at times, his disbelief at the effect Tess has on him is so confusing to this very in control man, he just can't wrap his head around it, he's never been the possessive nor jealous type but Tess calls out the beast in him, literally.... I really giggled when someone wanted to take Tess by the hand and Ryder's response was "He's handling the food, can't touch hands". The slow burn was very sweet, the banter was delightfully comical and the end result, oh so satisfying!
The first 30% in, there's is a bit too much descriptive detailing, for me personally, on what everyone looks like and is wearing, which slowed the pacing considerably. But it also gives a visually clear picture, so there's that going for it. Even though I found the pacing a bit inconsistent, the story itself was cool. The back and forth between Ryder and Tess was cool, the progression of the story was cool and I really enjoyed the characters as they popped up, awesome supporting characters in the "hidden" paranormal town of Shrewberry. A sweet quick read.
Welcome back to Snowberry! This time following our grunting, brooding Sheriff Ryder and the sassy werewolf hunting Tess.
If you have read the first book that introduced us to Snowberry, then you will have gotten a brief glimpse at the lovely Tess and Ryder chasing her around, but I can honestly say I am so excited to see the other side now and fall just in love with this couple. I missed this little fantasy small town, and I'm so glad Rebecca brought us back here for this book in The Bewitching Hour series.
Tess has believed werewolves existed for almost 20 years, after seeing them crash through a campground on a family vacation when she was 8. Determined to prove their existence she follows an anonymous tip that sends her to Snowberry, a town that, at least according to the world, doesn't exist.
Ryder is the sheriff of Snowberry, and happens to be a shifter, but not just any shifter, a wolf shifter. He takes his solemn duty to protect this town, his family and all the members of his community serious. One of the biggest parts of his jobs, despite several humans having mated with supernaturals in the town, is to assure the world never discovers their secrets and the truth about those who have found sanctuary in the town. Having felt a prickling in the back of his neck for a week now, he finally learns that there's been a new visitor to the town, Tess. Since his first encounter with her he's drawn to her, unable to run her off or deter her, there's just something about her that he can't shake. Nor does he want to.
This was such a fun light book with a bit of mystery. You can definitely read this as a standalone, but if you want to get a little deeper into the events happening in this book, you can read Sing Sweet Nightingale first and meet Ryder's brother's love story which takes place at the same time.
Thank you so much to Rebecca for the e-arc, all opinions are my own.
Bewitched by the Werewolf had a lot of ups and downs for me. I think part of it was me not being as into Omegaverse tropes, so take this review with a huge helping of salt.
Things I liked: The chemistry and tension between Tess and Ryder was well done. Tess was a fun snarky badass, and I liked her POV a lot. I appreciate that the romance isn't instalove, and even though fated mates/mating is part of it, it feels a bit more natural here. The open door spice also made sense in the context of the story and did not feel out of place.
I enjoyed the Mayberry/Andy Griffith vibes of the town, and the side characters were all a lot of fun! I love seeing the different supernatural elements, and the different takes on shifters and other non-humans (caveat - see next paragraph). I honestly do want to see more set in Snowberry. Give me a book about Hunter, Larkin, Ginger, or Dotties diner, or the coffee shop any day! I think there's a lot to explore in how the non-humans are set up.
I wasn't a huge fan of Ryder's POV. There are times where he's great, but I really didn't like being in his head. I also hated the magical creature racism and felt like that should have been handled differently. Honestly that whole subplot was unnecessary and didn't feel like it went anywhere, nor did it have a satisfying conclusion. It's fine to say that one particular group within the species/race is awful, but to have a main character that we are supposed to like go on a rant about how the entire species is "the scum of the non-human and human world" raises a huge red flag.
I received this ARC for free, and all opinions are my own. Overall, I think folks who like Omegaverse romances with small town vibes and are into open door spice will love the romance. Tread with caution about the mmc, and draw your own conclusions.
Rebecca Rennick never fails to write amazing characters, witty banter, heated spice, and storylines that you can’t read quick enough. Bewitched by the Werewolf, book 5 in the Bewitching Hour collection, blends a paranormal romance with Rebecca’s quick wit and ability to make her story jump off the pages.
As always, Rebecca has given us characters that set up the story for success. Tess and Ryder are perfection in words. Their dynamic and chemistry intrigues readers to keep reading because you have to know what happens between them. Tess is a werewolf hunter and is determined to prove the existence of werewolves. She finds her way to a small town named Snowberry, which is not located on any map or database. Why did someone send her here through an anonymous tip?
Ryder is the sheriff of Snowberry and Beta to the local pack. While he holds nothing against humans, he prioritizes keeping his small town under the radar to humans and allow shifters a place of peace. When Tessa arrives, she isn’t easy to run off, like past humans, and something about her makes his wolf react. Not understanding fully what makes Tess different, he can’t help but want to get closer to her and share this town with her.
Rebecca never fails to make me fall in love with her characters, both main and side. Her writing always pulls me into and I love the worlds she creates. Her stories always include deep connection, real emotions, and finding the place that you fit. I thoroughly enjoy getting lost in her stories and look forward to what she writes next.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: 🐺Shifter Romance 🔥He Falls First 🐺Mate Bonds 🔥Knotting 🐺Small Town Romance 🔥Primal Chase 🐺Annoyance to Lovers
If you’re looking for a slow burn, immediately annoyed by each other to lovers romance, between two incredibly alpha personalities, with a sprinkle of drama, plenty of spice, a dash of werewolves and a few other mythical creatures and a happily every after than I definitely recommend grabbing a copy of Bewitched by the Werewolf today!
I have absolutely loved all of the snowberry novels so far, and every character we’ve been introduced to! And I have to say Bewitched by the Werewolf was absolutely another amazing add to this series. The lore building for Snowberry in this is so good, for anyone who has read the other Snowberry novels it gives us a glimpse into Snowberry and its residents pre/early Lottie time and it was interesting to get some backstory on characters I’d seen before and already loved.
Now I will say the romance and characters in this book I did struggle to connect with. I struggled to understand the romance between Ryder and Tess as everything they said was snarky or distrusting for a good portion of their interactions. Which I could understand Ryders pov better than Tess and definitely connected with him more. Tess for me came off snarky, sometimes to the point of just being cruel especially her plans to befriend the townsfolk who were genuinely nice to her in order to pry their secrets out of them, obviously things started to change later on but I think the disingenuous attitude at the beginning really colored Tesses personality for me. Overall I would say while I may not have fallen for these characters I did enjoy the book and would love to see more about the Snowberry characters!
I'm enjoying my time with the Betwitching Hour series and discovering new authors and interesting stories.
The book follows Tess and Ryder, two individuals who couldn't be more different. Tess is a headstrong werewolf hunter on a quest to finally discover the truth after her childhood encounter with three werewolves. Ryder is a small town sheriff, adamant about protecting his town from outsiders because the majority of the residents are non-human. When Tess rolls into Ryder's town, these two butt heads almost immediately. Will the hate turn into love and why does Tess smell so enticing to Ryder?
I really liked the town of Snowberry and would want to return there in the future. I feel there's a lot of stories to be told from the residents. I had an okay time with the romance between Tess and Ryder and I did enjoy how stubborn both main characters were when it came to pretty much everything. They were two alphas battling it out and seeing them both give in was satisfactory. But I did feel there was a little too much of the snark at times and I didn't fully get the emotional connection between them and how it evolved. But it was fun to follow.
I also feel there was some pacing issues in the book, because some things were rushed (the elf plot line was summed up in less than a page after being setup as the big plot) and some things dragged out unnecessarily. I noticed that we glossed over a lot of things that could've maybe been cut entirely. But it wasn't a big thing, just something I noticed.
Thank you to the author for the eARC. I am leaving a voluntary review.
I'm such a fan of Rebecca Rennick and when I saw she was releasing (along with other indie authors) a Bewitched Series I had to get my hands on this book.
I had no idea that that is a continuation of Snowberry Series! I have been patiently waiting to read Ryder's story and this is it! Rebecca's Snowberry Series is a cozy paranormal fantasy romance. I love the small town vibes! I also purposefully tried to prolong my reading of this book because I just love this series!
I rate this book a 4.75 ⭐️ 2.5 🌶️ .
Tess is such a bada$$ and I loved her energy and I loved seeing Ryder crack under Tess's influence. Their chemistry was undeniable and the tension and banter was top tier. I also loved returning to Snowberry and reading about all the characters I've grown to love in the Sing Sweet Nightingale. The only thing else I wanted was to spend more time with Ryder and Tess as they navigate their relationship-there was some speculation regarding Tess's ancestry and Ryder needing to work on his feelings about himself. BUT other than that I loved loved loved this story!
Even though this is a interconnected standalone I would recommend reading Sing Sweet Nightingale- because the stories take place during the same time (and I loved the details and how both stories are connected).
If you love: shifter romances, small town, he falls first, fated mates, slow burn, and annoyance to lovers- then I would highly highly recommend this book and the series!
Thank you to the author for the free e-ARC! This is my honest review!
Bewitched by the Werewolf takes place in the same storyline as Rebecca Rennick's Snowberry novels and time wise during the first book (Sing Sweet Nightingale). You do not need to read Sing Sweet Nightingale first but if you become interested in Lottie's story, I'd recommend looking into the Snowberry novels.
This story follows Ryder the grumpy Sheriff, and Tess the werewolf hunter. Tess once saw a vicious werewolf when younger and has been determine to find the ferral beasts to prove to everyone what she saw was real. However, she ends up in the quiet small town of Snowberry which shows her more than what she originally bargained for.
It was nice to finally hear Ryder's story as you see him appear slightly in Sing Sweet Nightingale and wonder about his character. He is wonderfully broody and I love how Tess gets under his skin. The two are both incredibly stubborn which I found it fun to see them bicker. One thing Rebecca is extremely good at is writing the draw/pull each character has to each other! While Ryder finds Tess to be a nuisance in town, he can't help but keep his eyes on her and feel the pull towards her.
Since this book was originally wrote for The Bewitching Hour series, I know it didn't focus on the main events (the elf coming to town) since it was covered in her other series. Because of that, it did feel a tad rushed more than the other Snowberry novels. With that said, it's a good introduction to the world of Snowberry and good to bring people to the rest of the series!
✔️ Paranormal Romance (Shifters) ✔️ Annoyance to Lovers ✔️ Fated Mates ✔️ Small Town
Thank you @rebeccarennick for providing me with a copy of this book early! 🫶
This book was everything I love in Rebecca’s work - interesting storytelling, spicy romance, and enjoyable characters. While this book is the third in Rebecca’s Snowberry series it can also be read as a standalone. (Though I recommend reading all the spicy goodness. 😂) If you have already read “Sing Sweet Nightingale” this book’s timeline runs in tandem with it but focuses on Ryder 👮♂️🐺 (Hunters brother) and Tess 👩🦰❤️ (newbie townie and werewolf hunter).
Tess AKA Red is sassy and independent, while Ryder is the grumpy antisocial beta. Both of which were interesting but more importantly together they had fantastic laugh-out-loud banter. But to be honest my favorite part of this one was Ryder’s frustration. 🤣 You could literally feel his resolve crumbling as the story progressed. 🤣 I also really loved seeing some of the other townsfolk from Snowberry in this one and seeing a different view of Hunter and Lottie’s story. (It was like a spark notes version.) I can’t wait to see what characters find love in Snowberry next and hope we get more glimpses of Ryder and Tess in the future. ❤️
“She called me daddy, smells like apples, and will not listen to anything I say.” 🤣🤣
Solid 4 stars! I'll be honest - I hated Tess at the beginning! As someone who absolutely adores Snowberry, seeing her waltz in determined to expose all our beloved supernatural residents had me ready to throw my Kindle. But damn if she didn't grow on me by the end! Ryder felt a little bland in some moments, but holy molly the banter between these two was chef's kiss. Their chemistry definitely worked even when I wanted to shake some personality into our sheriff boy. I'm obsessed with being back in Snowberry! All the cozy vibes with our favorite supernatural residents - though I was a little confused about where exactly this sits in the Snowberry timeline at first. But I oriented myself eventually and just soaked up all that small-town magic. The spice distribution was perfect - cozy moments balanced with some seriously steamy scenes. That hair kink with Tess's gorgeous long red hair? Fun :D And descriptions of smells and how they worked for them.. Yes please! And that hunt scene in the woods... let's just say Ryder definitely knows how to track his prey :D The pacing felt a little off in places, and I didn't get as attached to the characters as I usually do with Snowberry book, which is why this isn't hitting that perfect 5-star mark for me. But still a super fun read! Perfect for anyone who loves their paranormal romance with small-town charm and werewolf sheriffs who know how to handle feisty conspiracy theorists!
A human in a town full of paranormals…what could possibly go wrong? Find out in Bewitched by the Werewolf.
Tess has one aim: to prove the existence of werewolves. It has shaped her whole life, including the part where her parents had her locked up in a mental health facility. She has one last lead - she is anonymously sent set of coordinates in an apparently empty area. Except it’s not empty - there’s an entire hidden town.
Ryder is the sheriff of the town, which just so happens to be populated by non-humans. They’re preparing for a Blood Moon which means an influx of strangers…except there’s one stranger he can’t get his mind off. When he discovers Tess’s true purpose for being in town he’s determined to keep the town’s secret hidden.
All is going well until Tess spots him shifted and shoots him with her crossbow. Now Ryder has to convince her to keep the town’s secret - and not kiss her, of course.
There’s a whole series of fun side characters in this book. I particularly liked the fairy-owned coffee shop The Ugly Mug - you choose the mug, the fairy chooses the coffee based on your aura. The banter and flirting heats up pretty quickly and the book runs parallel to one of the author’s other stories.
This is a slow burn, open door romance that involves knots. The only really triggering issue is Tess being called crazy and getting locked up by her family. Fans of PNR will probably enjoy this story.
As a child, Tess saw something unusual. She’s convinced she saw werewolves. She’s had to face time in mental institutions because her family was convinced that she’d lost her mind. It’s become her objective in life to prove that she isn’t crazy.
Ryder is the sheriff of the town of Snowberry, a town that’s hidden from the human world. He’s also a werewolf shifter. He isn’t violent, but he does feel the need to get out into the woods and run from time to time.
When Tess receives a tip of where to find the mysterious town, she jumps at the chance, vowing if she’s wrong that she’ll quit her werewolf quest. She rolls into town in her airstream and gets to work. It isn’t long before she discovers something interesting.
Snowberry, Montana is a town with more than just werewolves. It has all variety of magical shifters. Tess oddly feels at home there. When she meets Ryder, there’s more than just casual curiosity that draws them together.
This was a fun book, and I did enjoy it. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the writing style. I found it hard to follow, especially in the first part of the book. The last half moved along much more quickly.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
I love Snowberry. This town is so fun and full of life. They love each other and protect each other with everything they have.
Tess and Ryder come together in this one. We saw bits and pieces of them in the first book. They got under each others skin and were both unwilling to give an inch.
That is until it was clear that it was more.
Tess is hinting werewolves. She’s determined to be able to prove that she isn’t crazy. That she has seen one and knows they are out there.
Ryder is trying to keep the town safe. Trying to keep everyone’s secret from being exposed and knowing that he had to fight to do it.
Tess and Ryder start out on opposite sides of the fence. Then he catches her scent. It’s clear that they are meant to be. They have a lot of baggage and things to get through and work through everything together. They fight hard for each other and for themselves. The closer they get the more the realize how much they need the other.
This one was so fun and I loved getting to learn and see more of Ryder and Tess. If you haven’t read the first book in the series some of the details will be lost but it’s still an amazing read all the same. I highly recommend the Snowberry world. It’s always a good time!!!
I recently picked up Bewitched by the Werewolf, and honestly, it was such a cute and cozy read. The story follows Tess, a determined werewolf hunter on a mission to prove that werewolves are real. Her journey takes her straight into Snowberry—a secret little town brimming with magic, quirky locals, and of course, one very grumpy (but very swoon-worthy) sheriff named Ryder.
The real highlight for me was the banter between Tess and Ryder. Their constant back-and-forth was sharp, playful, and had just the right amount of bite (pun totally intended). You can feel the sparks flying between them, and it made the tension in their relationship so much fun to read.
The pacing of the plot was spot on—never dragging, but also giving enough room to enjoy the magical world and its charmingly eccentric cast of characters. Snowberry itself has such a warm small-town vibe that it almost feels like the kind of place you’d want to pack up and move to—if you don’t mind running into a few supernatural surprises along the way.
Overall, Bewitched by the Werewolf is a delightful paranormal romance: cozy, funny, a little bit magical, and a whole lot of fun.
4 wow, those are definitely some ugly mugs out of 5.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a fun read. I was very excited to read Ryder and Tess’s story because there were some hints throughout Sing Sweet Nightingale what was going on but to finally read it was amazing. This does take place in the same world as the Snowberry series and does take place the same time frame as Sing Sweet Nightingale. You don’t have to read that book first but does make this book more enjoyable if you have.
It was very exciting to see Ryder’s perspective on the events of the Blood Moon Celebration that takes place during the book and why he’s more introverted. Tess is also an introverted person but had really a perspective change on her need to expose that Shifters (or werewolves, that’s what she calls them) are real and how it will effect the shifters and also the other non-humans in Snowberry if it got out. I also love her sass that she has. The banter between Ryder and Tess was entertaining and delightful.
I highly recommend checking this out. I also recommend checking out the rest of the Bewitching Hour series and Rebecca’s other works because they’re both really great reads and have enjoyed everything I read so far from both.
I waited for Ryder's story, I loved his character since I first read Sing Sweet Nightingale.
Tess is a paranormal investigator out to prove werewolves exist. When she gets an anonymous tip about Snowberry, she goes to investigate. What she finds, at first, it a picture perfect quirky town filled with fun people, and one stern Sheriff in Ryder. As things heat up between her and Ryder the wedge between them becomes whether or not she will reveal that non-humans exist. As she gets to know the town and it's people more though, she realizes that her life is infinitely better since coming to Snowberry.
There was a twist about Tess, but it became clear pretty early on, especially after reading the first Snowberry novel. It made her a really interesting character though. Feisty, fun, tough, and incredibly loving and loyal. Ryder is her opposite in a lot of ways, straightlaced, organized and fiercely protective of his town and his people. When Tess threatens to expose the town and it's secrets it takes Ryder explaining what Snowberry is and what everyone means to prove to her it's a secret worth keeping.
The epilogue was fun, seeing Tess and Ryder a year later, fitting in and making a wonderful life with each other.
I was thoroughly "bewitched" 😉 by this enchanting story. our FMC,Tess, may be sassy, but she uses her mouth as a coping mechanism. As we follow her through Snowberry on her werewolf hunt, we find she's not as "tough" as she puts on. The same can be said for our MMC, Ryder, the no-nonsense Wolf Shifter Sheriff. He puts on a gruff exterior, but softens his plans to get Tess out of town once discovering her childhood traumas. Our MCs carry the story well. They are well written and had me enjoying their banter. Snowberry, is a quaint non-human, elusive town full of lovely supporting characters. This is the third book by Rebecca about the town, but, is a stand-alone. no previous knowledge is needed to enjoy. the only minor gripe I have is that a main story line had a lot of build up, and was resolved off page and quickly . like it had been forgotten, and a sentence thrown in to tie it off . this leaves me rating Bewitched by the Werewolf at 4.5⭐ 2.5🌶️
this is my first Snowberry story and I'll be reading the others.
