About the author

Matteo Costanzi was born in Spoleto, Italy, in 1989. With a strong educational background in music, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the Conservatorium “Briccialdi” in Terni, followed by a Master’s degree at the Utrecht Conservatorium. Matteo has honed his craft under the guidance of esteemed mentors and has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians.
As a versatile musician, Matteo performes regularly with various orchestras in The Netherlands, including the Residentie Orkest, Philharmonie Zuidnederland, Balletorkest, Phion, and more, as well as chamber music ensembles. Since 2018, he has been associated with the School for Young Talent at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he engages with the development of young musical talents and collaborates with experts in the field.
In addition to his musical achievements, Matteo is an accomplished athlete, having been a multi-time Italian Champion in junior pole vaulting. His experience as an athlete and as an athletics trainer informs his unique approach to integrating sports strategies into music practice, helping musicians enhance their performance and practice habits. Matteo’s dedication to both music and athletics reflects his belief in the power of discipline, focus, and the pursuit of excellence.
