Born and raised on Merseyside, Sheila Riley is the eldest of seven children. Her parents John and Peggy took the scenic route through the many family anecdotes they shared and encouraged their daughter to do the same. At school Sheila quickly discovered her English exam grades could be improved by writing tales in the back of her exercise book, and so began her lifelong love of story-telling. Happily married to Tony, they have three grown-up children, five adorable grandchildren and a huge German Shepherd who is put in his place by a small, ancient cat called Missy.
Child of the Mersey is the first book in a new series that will feature the residents of Empire Street in Liverpool during the Second World War.
This is the fourth book in the excellent Beamer Street Series and it had me engrossed right from the very start . We meet back with past characters and some new ones . The author has a wonderful way of bringing the characters and the area to life . I almost felt I was actually living on Beamer Street with them all as I made my way through the book . There are problems for some of the characters but they have their friends and family to guide them in the hopefully right direction. All through the book we have the threat of w@r looming and this is a frightening and worrying time for everyone . Another great read in a brilliant saga series and I can’t wait to read book five

What a great read this book was. The characters are well-portrayed. Everyone has something they have to deal with, but Henry Beamer has secrets, dangerous secrets, a secret that could see him hanged. I loved the author's writing style. I raced through the pages as I needed to find out what was going on. I wasn't disappointed.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #SheilaRiley for my ARC of #BindingThreadsOnBeamerStreet in exchange for an honest review.
I love the tales of Beamer Street, and this is the fourth installment in the series, set in 1935 Liverpool.
The main character, Daisy Haywood, is engaged to Harvey Harris, who provides a sense of safety, stability, and security. However, Daisy is struggling to ignore her lingering feelings for Max Galant, a journalist who left her five years ago to work overseas.
Meanwhile, Henry Beamer, the factory boss, is trying to win her attention, but he has dubious motives. He is hiding dangerous secrets that, if revealed, could lead to his execution.
The rich character development makes it a pleasure to reconnect with old friends while also meeting new ones. This delightful book is filled with suspense, betrayal, and emotion, among other themes. It will keep you captivated until the very last page.
It’s now the 1930’s in Beamer Street. Daisy is now getting engaged to Harvey after being heartbroken by Max leaving 5 years ago. Unbeknown to Daisy, Max has just returned to the area but he’s not alone. Daisy knows deep down that marrying Harvey is no good for her, but can she find the courage to break things off and hurt her mother Molly who thinks this is right for Daisy. Bridie returns unexpectedly from London and brings a young Irish woman Mara with her to stay at Mollys house. This is another great read and I enjoyed catching up with the characters from Beamer Street and also learning about the new characters too.
The 1930s in Beamer street is actually beaming. The characters have personal challenges while trying to decide what side they are on and the war is ongoing. Daisy is deciding if Max is worth it and Bridie returns to and attracts the attention of Henry. Lots of personal information in this book and I felt it drained me but I was eager to find out more about how the war was playing out and I felt anxious although I still had a few laughs.
This was the first book I've read by Sheila. It was so heartwarming and fun. I loved Daisy and Bridie so much much!! Even though I didn't read the other ones in this series, she did an amazing job of having it feel like it is a standalone.
I also loved the research she did during the time period set in the late 1930's. I love historical fiction and I felt like I stepped right into their world so easily.
I really enjoyed this book continuing on from the last book and it was fantastic.
We get to see what is happening to the families in Beamer Street. We also have new characters in the book. I liked how the woman are the strong characters and can hold their own.
I liked how there was a bit of suspense in the book. The characters all worked well together.
It was well written and I could not put the book down.
Liverpool 1935. Bindings threads of personal conflicts, love betrayal and identity. And rumours of war. Daisy Haywood. A brilliant story, right through. I love the unity and closeness of Beamer Street. That the author once again brings to her readers. Making your emotions turning and running. Loved it.
What twists and turns love that Mara found where she should be and has her dr bridie will she return with her baby and cannae wait to catch up with daisy max and polly if you haven't already read this series then I would highly recommend it if I could give it more than five stars I would Sheila's books are really good thoroughly enjoy reading them
What a delightfully wonderful new book in the series. In the 30’s the community on Beamer street the people are going through challenging times during the war. They find the difficulties in picking where their loyalties lay. To find out more you’ll need to read it.
