A REFERENCE GUIDE OF TRUTH & JUSTICE

While I am a huge fan of Superman character, I didn’t plan to buy this guide since I already had a previous one, also published by DK but it was like more than 20 years ago and evidently that one was already way out-of-date, for not mentioning too that this new one is easily three times thicker than the first one.

But fate comes in, since I bought a guide of Knights of the Zodiac as a gift for my brother and the local bookstore had a promo of 50% off price in the second book that you’d buy at the same time, and since this one was a little cheaper than the one that I bought for my brother, not only got a totally updated brand new guide about Superman but also cheaper than I’d expected.
As I told you, I wasn’t sure about buying it,…

BUT

…once I started to check it out, at home (it was sealed so I couldn’t check it out at the bookstore), oh boy! I congratulate myself of deciding of buying it, since it’s truly great, with a lot of information, presented in an excellent way, full of wonderful artwork too.

The reference guide takes you through the whole history of Superman in comic books, since his creation in 1938 marking the beginning of the Golden Age of Comics, passing through the Silver Age, and the rest of ages too to the present (2025).

Hightlighting key comic book issues with full detail and explaining why they are relevant in the history of the character…

…full guides of his allies, friends, love interests and villains, focusing in key characters of each category, like Batman & Robin, Wonder Woman, Lois Lane, Supergirl, Superboy, Lex Luthor, Darkseid, General Zod, Brainiac, Bizarro, Doomsday, etc… And you can learn about recent characters like Jon Kent.

Also mentioning key locations, with cool features like a map of Smallville, but also commenting about the Fortress of Solitude, Daily Planet, Metropolis, Apokolips, etc…

…and his pivotal participation in teams such like the Justice League and the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Every major crisis, published by DC Comics, is mentioned here, since Superman was always a relevant character on each crisis, but also other big DC events such as Zero Hour, Blackest Night and Flashpoint

…obviously, also his personal events such like The Death of Superman, The Reign of Supermen, Superman Blue & Red, Warworld, etc… along with other events like the Man of Steel miniseries, new origins like Birthright and New52 and Elseworlds alternate interpretations of the character.

A detailed timeline commenting the key moments of his life in comics…

…and so much more!

All this presented in a gorgeous hardcover big format, in full color, and prestige paper.

Definitely this is a must-have for any hardcore fan of the Superman and since the new movie, made by Warner Studios, released some months ago (2025), this is a great time too to buy it.

Definitely recommended!
