The Captain, Nate Jamerson, joins the Spacers Company and gets a ship. He puts together a crew of the best people he can find... on short notice. Together they crew the freighter called Starlight. The crew set out to take contracts and make a buttload of credits together. But soon, they find out they are all in way over their heads. Pirates, repossession agents, rebel freedom fighters, colonial space marines, and powerful people from every faction found in the Frontier continue to cross paths with the crew of Starlight as they try to live the spacin' life.

For decades, the Frontier and its inhabitants have lived in a careful balance of uneasy peace, but the crew of Starlight have unwittingly become the ones to disrupt the fragile instability of the universe. As factions threaten launching another interstellar war, Starlight and her crew remain at the center of it all, and the balance of the galaxy rests in their hands. The Captain and his crew simply want to finish their mission of delivering a shipment to a small dustball in the backwaters of the Frontier, but every galactic power player has it out for these ordinary spacers.

Once again, Thaxton delivers an action packed adventure with characters that really draw you in. Each character has their own journey and growth as they all go on a mission together. I think my favorite part was seeing how each character’s changes also affected those around them. A great third book from Thaxton Lee!
