Zara is an urban explorer who loves all things strange. One day an interesting find on a Google Earth search draws her and her vampire situationship into the woods to explore what they think is an abandoned gothic cathedral.
Much to Zara’s delight, it's an abandoned gothic mansion left behind by an old vampire where a lifelike gargoyle statue stands guard.
Despite Zara’s declining mental health and an impending snowstorm, she returns to the mansion alone only to discover that the gargoyle is more lifelike than she ever imagined…
Join Zara as she explores the taboo in this snowed-in gothic dark romance
Heartbreaking to see the back story of Samael's broken heart ahead of Masked Mortality.
Zara was a brilliantly written character, and the representation of her mental health struggles was on point. I loved seeing her find love and peace in the arms of Bathory, but that ending was shocking 😱
Can not wait to see the next instalment to see how it all pans out.
This was my first gargoyle book!! I enjoyed the visuals of Gina and the mansion. I was annoyed that she didn’t end up with the vampire she knew for a year! That was a twists. Feel bad for her so much depression and heartache! Over all I enjoyed it and kept reading to find out what happened next
Wow. Just wow. Soul of stone really packs a punch, I read it in a couple of hours, and I honestly felt like I had whiplash. It is fast-paced and extremely spicy... it left me needing a whole lot more!
Firstly, we meet Zara and Samuel. Samuel is a hot tattooed vampire that could honestly bring anyone to their knees. Zara finds a map, and Samuel follows her to discover a gothic mansion. This is where Zara finds the gargoyle, and believe me... he’s smoking hot. It left me wondering where all the hot gargoyles hang out. No shame here, give it to me! 😂
Zara is someone i can really relate too, her struggle with bipolar is truly heart-breaking, but it’s nice to see a bipolar rep, as someone who also has bipolar disorder. I see a lot of her in myself. There’s so much more to tell here, but she’s a fire cracker and extremely strong .
The spice is extremely hot and really sexy – who knew gargoyles where so unhinged? Need.
The ending is a huge cliffhanger... and honestly, really, I’m going to be blowing up Pricilla Stones' inbox for more! 🤣🤣
Did I think I’d ever read a romance book about gargoyles? No. Did I thoroughly enjoy it? Yes, yes I did.
The way all these characters came together in this novella, was so cool. You have Zara, a human, who has her own demons, that she tries to chase away with adventures. Samael, is her Vampire. Or so he thinks. And then you have Bathory, who is a Gargoyle, that comes to life when trespassers are near.
This book is good! It definitely had me on the edge, looking for answers. I wanted more from their story and to find out what happens next!
-Hot tattooed vampire situationship. -A hot gargoyle. -Urban Explorer fmc. -Mental health rep.
This was the first book I've ever read by Pricilla Stone, and I'm HOOKED on her writing style now.
Zara is an urban explorer who comes across an interesting find on Google Earth, which draws her interest into an abandoned gothic style cathedral. She drags her vampire situationship with her too. Zara's mental state dwindles and she returns to the mansion during a snowstorm except she isn't alone...
I really loved Zara's character & her quirks. Her plushie 🥹 the bipolar representation hit home as well. And the heart break 🥹😭
Referring to Samael as the vampire situationship was such a weird thing to do.
I don't know if I have anything pleasant to say about Soul of Stone to be honest. Maybe if it was longer and more fleshed out, I could appreciate it. But instead it's barely over 120 pages, ends on a cliffhanger, and gives us an FMC that uses her poorly medicated mental health as an excuse to be a terrible person.
I won't be continuing. The characters are unlikable. The plot was decent enough, but the execution was so weakly done that I don't have the willpower to invest more time to waiting for a sequel (if there is one coming?)
This is my first gargoyle romance, and I want more! I most definitely want more from these characters. I absolutely need to know what happens next. That ending left me in shambles. Zara's struggle with bipolar was so relatable in this, I absolutely loved how Pricilla captured it all. The spice was fantastic, l never knew a gargoyle could be so hot! But I'm not going to lie, I really felt bad for Sam. I definitely need to read Priscilla's other books to find out more about his character. Do yourself a favor and read this book, you will not be disappointed!
“He is my dark fairytale and we are both doomed to become souls of stone.” 🖤
I absolutely loved this Gargoyle novella! It was fast, spicy, & I loved Zara’s wit & personality. If you love monster romance, then this is for you! I also loved the entire gothic feel of the story as well as the bipolar representation that was depicted through Zara. Did I mention there’s also a vampire named Samael in the mix?? 👀 The cliffhanger at the end had me gasping because what do you mean??! I need a second book to this story like I need air! 😮💨
Check your triggers!⚠️ Wow that was a wild ride!😜 I had lots of fun reading parts of this out loud to my husband to see his reaction🤣 If you are in the mood for a vibes read; this is the perfect short & spicy unhinged monster dark romance.🌶️🖤😈
Broooooo! Who knew gargoyles could be so hot?! Zara is one lucky B. Vampires, yes plural, AND a gargoyle. I DEVOURED this in one sitting. I'm really hoping that we get more since the ending was left open. I NEEEEEED to see what happens!
I devoured every word of this spicy little gem. Not for everyone check your triggers warnings before diving in. And if you have not read this author’s other series, well just go now, you can thank me later.
If you’re looking for a quick read to feed your love of monsters but connect dots in the crimson quarter… this book is for you. Read it in one sitting and it was the perfect novella. Who doesn’t love a good gargoyle moment??? Need I say more?
To put it simply, this book gave me EVERYTHING I wanted and left me DESPERATE for more!😫 Being obsessed with the 90’s tv show “Gargoyles” as a child, this book hit my SOUL🖤 It is a short read, but Pricilla’s cliff hangers are UNTOUCHABLE. I will be buying the second book whenever it comes out, immediately!!! Please go give this a read…I PROMISE you it’s worth it😉😈🖤🌶️🩸
Oh, a gargoyle romance you say? That sounds good. Oh, Pricilla Stone wrote it? SIGN ME THE F UP! This is a great, shorter story focusing on Zara and what she stumbles upon on one of her urban exploring trips in an ancient gothic mansion. If you have read some of Pricilla's other works, you may be familiar with the vampire side character in this story, and if you aren't, be prepared to want to get to know him even more after you meet him in this one! Pricilla has such an amazing ability that allowed her to create this entire 'Crimson Quarter' world while also touching on and bringing attention to very serious topics including Zara's struggle with bipolar. This is a definite must read but be sure to check the content warnings as there are some heavy items in this story! Also, if you love this one and have not checked out her other books, DO IT!
