This is the heart-wrenching story of Riya and Manav, a journey filled with love, pain and countless ups and downs. Riya marries Manav and hopes to live a happy life together. She has always hated alcohol, and Manav promises her that he will never break her heart, he will never drink or touch alcohol. But as life goes on things change. Manav gets addicted to alcohol.
Riya is shown as a strong, determined woman who faces every challenge life throws at her. Manav, he’s not just a man who made mistakes, he’s someone caught between his own struggles and the love he has for his wife. Even with his flaws and wrong decisions, his feelings for Riya are truly genuine.
Manav's mother became my favourite. Her warmth, care and unconditional love for her daughter-in-law touched me deeply. Tbh, I think every girl dreams of having such a mother-in-law🥹❤️.
This book made me cry. A particular scene broke me so much that I had to put the book down for a day. But when I picked it up again, the very next chapter was so interesting that I couldn't stop reading and I read the rest of the book in no time.
The author has a beautiful writing style. It is not just a love story, it is also about pain, sacrifice and the raw realities of life. It depicts reality, where nothing is perfect but there is a beauty in the mess💖🤌🏻.
This book reminds us that real life is not like the fairy tales we read. Life does not give any guarantees, but the journey, the sacrifices and the moments of love make it worthwhile. True love demands everything. It can hurt, but it can also bring a quiet peace that stays with you forever ❣️✨.
For sure, we all have experienced heartbreak at least once in our lives. That moment when you gave up everything just for that one person whom you thought was YOUR PERSON. The one you turned to with your problems, happiness, and every other emotion you felt because you believed they would never leave you like the others did.But then, when you finally see their true face even if they say sorry for their mistake. You realize the mistake isn’t small enough to forgive or even think about being with them again. It breaks your heart to see how deeply you cared, how much you loved them with your whole heart while they didn’t even consider you for a moment. It hurts to see your efforts go in vain, like they meant nothing.Their small gestures used to make you happy, make you giddy with joy but your love and efforts never meant anything to them. And that’s exactly what this book is about. The story revolves around Riya and Manas, once lovebirds, happily married, until life changed drastically in ways neither of them could have ever imagined.Talking about the writing style, it is simple yet excellently portrayed.Reading it felt like my own story—written by someone else. The author did a perfect job of doing justice to the characters. Now, what is that justice? Is it a happy ending or a sad one? To find that out, you’ll have to read the book. This book is perfect for readers looking for something heart-wrenching,something that might make you cry.
This book dives into the turbulent relationship between Riya and Manas, whose marriage starts with conditions that are quickly broken; no lying and no drugs. With a backdrop of addiction, emotional baggage, and miscommunication, the story attempts to tackle heavy themes.
While the premise is gripping and Anjali clearly has a strong voice for emotional depth, the story does go a bit overboard at times.
The plot has its intense moments, especially when misunderstandings spiral and accusations fly. Riya’s struggle with her father’s addiction and Manas’s reaction to his mother’s illness add real weight, but the execution sometimes felt disconnected, especially in chapter transitions.
Manas, while good-hearted, makes frustrating choices, and some conflicts could’ve been more grounded. That said, the potential is definitely there; Anjali knows how to pull at emotions and isn’t afraid to explore flawed characters.
The book holds promise. The writing carries emotional weight, and with a little more refinement in structure, this could have been a stronger story.
A decent, average read with room for tighter pacing and cleaner narrative flow.
