Thanksgiving comes around once every year, and people all around the world travel far and near, and look forward to gathering with their loved ones. Those who celebrate Thanksgiving, are usually taught that it’s a holiday to set aside to thank God for the many blessings He bestowed upon you. At least this is true for Deidra and Danielle Anderson.
These two sisters were brought up in a wealthy household, and never had to go without. Life, decisions, and circumstances change, but life must continue even after tragedy hits. The world we live in can often be a cold place, especially when everybody is looking to come up.
“Everybody has a day. There’s room at the top for everyone. Don’t wait for someone to make room for you at their table; create your own.” That’s what people say, right?
What happens when you think you know someone, but in reality, you only see and know what they show you? Power. Wealth. Addiction. Love. Reciprocity. What happens when all these things are combined and leave you wondering what’s more important?
Have you ever yearned for something so bad knowing it wasn’t good for you? Dive into this short story and find out why these two are so grateful on Thanksgiving.
This read was full of emotion right from the beginning, and I held on tight for the ride! My heart broke for Danielle as she walked in and witnessed that hot mess from her ex! 😠 Everything she believed about her life and relationship had been a lie! Xavier that was some cold ish, and then asked her to stay there too? Bruh what??? 🤬👀 Danielle was already fragile, as she was still reeling from her parents death, and the estrangement of her sister. This was going to push her right over the edge! Oh, okay Xavier since you want to do me dirty; let me show you something! Sis was bold with spending this man's money like crazy with no remorse, while she fell down the rabbit hole and relapsed!
Deidre, Danielle's sister knew something was going on with her sister, she just knew it. She was determined to find her sister, while dealing with intense pain from an unknown origin. She had to find her sister and make sure she was alright, no matter her situation. Reaching out to her good friend Yatti for help, she knew that he would find Danielle, and put him in position for happiness at the same time. Yatti! This man is an angel! His fierce protectiveness of his best friend Deidre, and the way he cared for those around him was admirable. Yatti would honor the wishes of his friend, but who knew that it would help him too. After a lot of push back from Danielle, she finally allowed Yatti to help her get on the right path. The way this man was by her side, supporting her through it all, and never waivered was everything! Not your typical romance, but a great read nonetheless! 👍👍👍
This was a fast paced story dealing with heartache, trauma, addiction and redemption. Danielle had to overcome a lot of heartache from her teenage years after suffering a tragic loss and the way she chose to deal did more harm than good. Her older sister, Deidra, also had to deal with her share of grief and premature responsibility in the beat way she could and the girls allowed life and grief to tear them apart. This short story packed a lot of life lessons learned and some yet to be learned. I hope when we hear from Danielle again, she has continued on her journey to healing and being healthy and whole. Yatti is her perfect match. Patient, kind and loving but unwilling to bend to her antics. I'm sure she's going to take him through it...lol

This is an emotional roller coaster love story that will have your attention from the very beginning! Even though it’s not the fairytale ending that all would hope for, it’s very real life and in the end, love prevails. A life was changed for the better and thanksgiving day was a success; filled with delicious food and great memories!
All I Want is more. Not because the book wasn’t complete but because it was so good. The was an emotional well written book for it to be the length. Hats off to such an amazing author.
Ms. Aja this book did not come short of any emotions. It was an emotional rollercoaster for me. I was glad for the happy-for-now ending. I'm also looking forward to this couple next year during the holiday season. Yatti was a true angel in disguise for both Diedra and Danielle. I especially love how he took his time to help Danielle overcome the biggest obstacle in her life. I was deeply saddened 😢😢 at all the loss she experienced at such a young age. She was strong just like Diedra said and beat her demons. Yatti fell quickly and hard for her. They fell for each other. I get the vibe that by the next read on these two they will be thriving and building a lasting relationship.
This a short but impactful read. It will pull at your heartstrings. You will get to witness growth and healing which is always a plus. A new Thanksgiving tradition was started with Danielle honoring her loved ones. That tradition alone spoke volumes. So grab your copy today so you can experience Yatti and Danielle.
This book needs the biggest trigger/content warning for addiction, drug use, and death. Danielle walks into the home she shares with her fiancé to find him proposing to another woman. This betrayal immediately causes her to relapse. Meanwhile her sister Deidre is having a sudden and severe health crisis. While hospitalized she asks her friend Yatti to find Danielle. He succeeds. It’s not Thanksgiving until about 85% of the way through the book.
Omg Yatti 😍💗🙏🏾 what a blessing what a beautiful friendship he held with Deidra god rest her soul. I admit chapter one was something I had no idea where the storyline was going which is a A plus bc normally I can pinpoint the next chapter or how a story would end but you made that hard for me to see how everything would tie together. Good job! Because real readers don’t want easygoing we want to be intrigued! I love how Yatti let his guard down and helped her sister get over her addiction. He was looking at his soulmate all he had to do was help her kick that bad habit. I love that the wealth was built on art career and not drugs kinda get sick of the normal occupation characters money come from so like how you went outside the box. I want more of them feel like this short story hold more to come from those two. It tied together in the ending and we got happy ending. I’m hear for more! Oh and I think a Yatti should have beat Xavier instead of pushing him if he pop up again in a book I need that to happen big time. 😆He the whole reason she flipped and boo boo crying over a watch 😒
An emotional read that touched on raw and vulnerable moments with Danielle in a decision that could make or break her life when she turned to drugs and addiction became her craving that satisfied the hunger and need to forget and numb her pain. Reading Danielle go through hell entering a dark place of loneliness was hard, but seeing she had an angel in Yatti looking out for her, one destined and determined to help her recognize her life has meaning was so sweet and heartfelt. I was cheering for her to make it. Yatti taught her perseverance, strength and accountability to take responsibility for herself while showing her love. This was a sweet holiday feel good story, a little sad, but romantic, endearing and inspiring with a very happy thanksgiving ending you’ll definitely enjoy.
Aja was able to create an amazing story about unconditional love and the resilience developed from it in its purest form. Definitely an emotional read about two individuals who are dealing up close and personal with the struggle of addiction.
She was able to capture the onsets of grief harshly with Danielle’s troublesome journey. While also providing a glimpse of how one can find acceptance of it in Yatti’s journey.
When starting this story I was skeptical on how it would go but I’m so glad I stuck with it. Not many books can show how it is to love someone with an addiction or the journey to overcome it. From Danielle’s grief, depression, addition and guilt she was a raw look at how quickly it can all go up in smoke if you don’t have the support system. I’m glad she found hers.
This story was written so beautifully. To be hurt beyond measure would be enough to break anyone. Danielle had dealt some tough things that would make anyone not be here anymore. Drugs was her coping mechanism. She was clean and sober for years. Her ex broke her again. Her revenge on him and his ex was funny. Deidra placed the 2 most important people in her life together. I was saddened by her passing. I'm glad Danielle got the man that was made for in Yatti. Can't wait to read The Purest Love
Not what I was expecting. My heart felt the pain, angst, and loss that Danielle felt. The journey that Yatti embark on together was so beautiful to watch unfold. I need more of them!!!
This story started off with a bang and didn’t let up! I love that it was a complete story even though it was short. It lacked nothing! Danielle was a fire cracker and Yatti needed a fire cracker 💜
This story is the epitome of having to get out of your own way to find happiness. Even through her pain Danielle was able to find the one thing she longed; true love!
Good quick read from start to finish. Story is very relatable for many of us have love ones who struggle with addiction. Story gives in-site on the power of love, death, sobriety and addiction.
Danielle and Deidra were estranged sisters, but when Deidra needed her, she sent her best friend Yatti to find her. Dealing with her past demons again, Danielle decides to pay back her ex, who treated her wrong, causing herself to lose her sister and the only family she had left. Yatti promised Deidra he would help her sister and protect her, and he did. I really enjoyed this tale of family, love, and forgiveness. Yatti was a man of his word and did everything to help make Danielle whole again. They were a great couple and would love more of them.
