In the secluded town of Frenhill, Aislinn harbors a secret—powers unseen for over three centuries that could rewrite history.

She’s a soulshifter—half human, half shapeshifter—with the ability to control animals with her mind, yet she’s haunted by her power’s dark history. For in the land of Elymbria, shapeshifters have long been hunted by humans, facing imprisonment or death as retribution for the actions of the first soulshifter.

For the past eight years, Aislinn and her shapeshifter brother, Liam, have concealed their identities in the safety of Frenhill’s small town. But when the king’s oppressive reign sparks revolt, they must call upon the shifter resistance for aid, igniting a conflict that will change the face of Elymbria forever.

Amidst the turmoil, Aislinn reunites with a long-lost ally and saves a mysterious shifter, stirring up emotions she can’t seem to ignore. As Aislinn navigates betrayal and desire, she must also confront the shadows of her past and the looming threat of the king’s forces.

With Elymbria’s fate hanging in the balance, Aislinn must find the courage to embrace her dark powers and decide where her loyalties truly lie before it’s too late.

It's finally here! 20 years in the making! It all started with the 3 characters from the prequel novella, Hide. Aislinn, Liam, and Rune have lived rent free in my head for far too long.

You've seen their beginning, but now they're all grown up and sh*t is about to get REAL! I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I enjoyed writing it. Writing and indie publishing this series has been a labor of love. I am ecstatic/scared/overwhelmed that you finally get to read it!

Stay tuned for the next book, coming whenever I finally finish writing it ;)

Oh my Goodness. Best Book I’ve read this year! (Which is saying something, because I read close to 200 a year) Truly breathtaking. I laughed, cried, kicked my feet, gasped in outrage. All. The. Feels. I could not put this book down and I am devastated I don’t have the next one already in hand.

Every character you meet has depth and the relationships progress with history, emotion, and spice in a perfectly natural way. Every challenge and conflict our FMC faces will keep the reader on the edge of your seat. This book surprised me with its twists, and tore my heart out in the best way.

I cannot recommend enough that every reader take to heart Gina’s recommendation to read the Novella first. It gave me such a sweet understanding of our main characters beginning. It’s barely 100 pages, only a handful of chapters really. And set me up perfectly to be hooked from the start of this story.

Gina really manages to put the reader in Aislinn’s head in order to take them for a ride through the gut wrenching character development that happens when our protective big sister FMC learns to be vicious and strong in the face of war and injustice for the sake of those she loves.

i have no idea where to start … just wow!! This is the first time i’ve ever vividly pictured a story. It genuinely felt like i was in the book. The words turned into dancing pictures floating off the page. Whenever i put it down (which wasn’t often) it quite literally felt like i paused my favorite show or movie.

The Novella to this called “Hide” found on KU is what pulled me into this story and had me excited to see where this series goes. And let me say , i was not disappointed!!

Gosh, such a strong FMC with so many deep connections with those around her and not once was i confused on who was who.

The story was so easy to follow and so easy to read. I genuinely can’t wait for the other books!!

100% recommend !!

This book had my emotions in a chokehold. My heart breaks for Aislinn, and sooo many things was going on that just kept stacking on top of her. The prequel novella Hide is on KU for those wanting to immerse in the world with your toes before diving into it. Everything was written so wonderfully, not too many details that deter you from what is going on, I could see it all like a movie playing out and the characters. Good lord her relationships with her brother (trying to keep him safe), her uncle (a father figure), and of course her conflicting emotions towards Rune & Devlin were so strong and I genuinely felt her pains and you can tell the author whole heartedly loves this story. I am now dying to know when there will be another book, the cliff hanger was gut wrenching 😩

Ever since reading the prequel, Hide, I couldn't wait for Hunted to be released, and let me tell you, this book did not disappoint.

I absolutely love aislinn as our FMC. She is portrayed so realistically that she is such a strong person, yet her age and her fears make her doubt herself and keep her from reaching her true potential. I absolutely loved everything about her, from her relationships with Rune, Killian, Devlin, and Liam, to her training her powers and fighting for what she believes in.

There were so many plot twists in this book that had my jaw on the floor. The pace was fantastic, the writing style was super easy to follow, and the plot was something new and exciting to the fantasy world.

Also, maybe a controversial opinion, but I absolutely LOVED devlin. His character had so much depth and layers. His banter and flirtatious attitude with aislinn was amazing. Now I'm not saying I don't like Rune, because he was also a fantastic character. But the more we learn about Devlin and his story the more I loved him (I blame booktok for my obsession with him) and I can't wait to see more of him (hopefully more scenes with him and aislinn 👀👀).

Overall, this is a phenomenal read, and if you need any more convincing, then I've added some of my favorite quotes from the book.

✨️“You’ve never been a simple girl, have you? You’re a perceptive, cunning little thing.”

✨️“Little fox.” My heart somersaults at the nickname he's given me. His lips press together, and he drops his hand back to his side. “How about a secret for a secret?”

✨️“You are powerful. You will turn the tide of this war. And I want to be by your side when you use these powers to take down the king.”

✨️“And how long were you here before you stepped in?” His eyes darken. “Long enough to see you don’t need anyone to save you, Aislinn.”

First, I consider myself a voracious reader. I love all sorts of books, including war, historical fiction, romance, horror, suspense, comedy, as well as non-fiction. I must admit, I do not delve much in the fantasy (or romantacy) genre. However, I’ve loved so many books that live in the gray area, like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, and I’m not even sure if those count. That said, this particular book kept me enthralled from start to finish. I love how the characters are so well defined and spun into the story with historical references to family, friends , acquaintances and yes, “bad guys”. Magical powers, shape shifting, mental telepathy, all woven into a great story set in a mythical land called Elymbria. If you’re looking for an adventure, this is your book. If you’re looking for steamy Romance, you’re gonna find that too, although this reader had to skip through those parts at a quicker pace; for you see, I am the author‘s father, and that was just awkward!

Bottom Line: I am extremely proud of my daughter Gina Elizabeth. She’s had stories flowing through her soul since she was a little girl and I’m so happy to see her dream of writing a book come true. May you write many more my darling daughter and congratulations from your old man!

WOW! Such an amazing story! 👏🏻
I Fell inlove with these characters after reading Hide, the prequel novella, and Hunted just made me love them even more. I can sometimes struggle to picture the world or the magic when reading fantasy and I did not have that problem at all with this book. Everything is described and portrayed so beautifully it all just kind of clicks into place.

I felt ALL the emotions while reading this book, at some moments I was kicking my feet, others my jaw on the floor, and a few times I wanted to scream.

Aislinn is my girl, I love her. I felt like I was able to truly understand how she was feeling with so much happening around her. She is doing everything she can to protect the people she loves while trying to understand herself and her powers.

Rune, I love you, that’s all

Devlin, I need answers and I need them now

I don’t want to spoil anything so all I’m going to say is WHAT AN ENDING, I need the next book right now (no pressure but I’ll be waiting for it) 🫶🏻

Hunted was an epic read! Following a few years after the prequel Hide, the book jumped right into the action for the main characters. I was endeared by the characters fighting for survival and facing challenge after challenge. The high stakes pulled me into their world, sitting on the edge of my seat to view things from a different perspective of shifters and animals, and the multiple twists took me by surprise through the end. 5/5 stars and would 100% recommend to any fantasy/romantasy fans out there!

I would have finished this so much faster if I wasn’t sick.
Gina really put me through it with this one. I felt all the things from love and hope to downright hopeless. The twists were twisting. The spice was spicing and I wasn’t ready for that ending! I read the prequel Novella and it definitely added dimension to the story. There were times I wanted to shake Aislinn and ask her wtf were you thinking, but I’m all for character growth. The low burn was torturous but I’m glad it didn’t take away from the overall story. She did a beautiful job making me equally love and loathe Devlin and I’ll be impatiently waiting for book 2!

Where to start with this book, totally gripped from the start. I have never flip flopped between liking and hating 2 characters before and I’m still not sure who the good guy is.

So many twists and turns the whole way through. The perfect amount of spice too that ending though, how could you do that to us

Definitely recommend reading hide first to help better understand characters and know their backgrounds

Bring on the next one

I finished this book in record time. I didn’t want to put it down! So much happens! And the book doesn’t feel rushed at all. It’s paced well and I love the character growth. I was able to fully envision this novel like a movie playing in my mind while reading this!! There are twists and turns, betrayal, a slow burn with some spice that doesn’t overwhelm the story, world building, the list goes on. My only criticism is that I got a little tired of Ash overthinking, and wanting to hide/being scared but she grows and that’s what matters. Please don’t make me wait much longer for the next book in the series. Maybe a spoiler??? But check triggers if you cannot handle anything happening to animals.

Hunted is Gina Elizabeth’s first full length novel. She begins the story a little slower than I would have liked. It goes into the head/emotions of the FMC a bit too much in the beginning chapters. I think as the story progresses, you begin to see her writing really develop and by the end of chapter 17, it’s picks up and takes off. The characters are beautiful, and the story gets to be phenomenal in the last two chapters. I can’t wait to see where Aislinn goes from here.

Quick Synopsis: A mad king, threatened by magic wielding humans who can change into animals, begins to outlaw and hunt down anyone who can shift. Shifters try to fight back, and are promptly thrown in prison or murdered. The ones who are left, run to other lands. Our FMC Aislinn and her younger brother Liam, are running away with their parents, when they are killed. Many who can’t fully escape the country run to the Murk- a dense primordial forest- where many enter and most are never heard from again. A small outpost village named Frenhill is the only thing near the Murk for hundreds of miles. Many shifters hide and blend in with the humans of this village. Aislinn and Liam barely make it to their family friend, Killian, the local innkeeper and tavern owner. They settle into a life they never wanted, and mourn the loss of their parents. War doesn’t stay away from Frenhill for long. Liam’s powers as a shifter grow, as he does. Aislinn struggles to keep their secret, and one day, King’s Men stumble upon them in the Murk. She defends herself and Liam, which begins a series of events that land them at the forefront of a Civil War. They have two choices: run with extremely limited resources to escape the war or stand with the the Shifters’ rebellion to try to make a better world where all of Elembria can flourish.

Favorite Quote of mine in the book: "I've reveled in the shadows far longer than you. But it was you, Aislinn-you were the light that lit the path back to my humanity.”

Tropes/Subjects: Civil War, Underdog mentality, One Bed, Why Choose?, Early Parental Loss, Grief, Survivor’s Guilt, Depression, Anxiety, Mental Health, Coming of Age, Maturation, Forced Proximity

I don’t even know where to start with this review because so much happens and I have so many feelings. So this will probably be long.
I am so grateful I stumbled across Gina Elizabeth on TikTok and signed up to ARC read this because I absolutely adore this book! Shapeshifters, a revolutionary war, childhood friends, a love triangle with some spice, and a bunch of twists, Hunted has everything.
I loveeeee Aislinn! She’s been through so much yet she remains so strong and independent. Plus she’s killer with a bow and her powers are insane! But she also annoys me (not in a bad way lol) I kept getting so frustrated with wanting her to just go for it! I wanted to just yell at her, even though I fully understand her hesitation.
The human/shapeshifter war had me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what to expect next. Every twist and turn left me entirely shocked. I did guess one of the twists kinda early and I was so hyped when it in fact happened I was jumping up and down, even though it wasn’t like a good thing lol.
The slow burn, love triangle aspect was so delicious and angsty! The heat between all of them was intense and had me dying for more.
Rune and Devlin are so complex and such opposites, but also the same in many ways. Rune has my whole heart, he’s kind, understanding and protective. A couple of his decisions drove me absolutely nuts and pissed me off though! However, there’s also a part of me that can’t help but also love Devlin for how he pushes Aislinn and how he seems to fully accept everything about her. But he’s so up and down and sneaky and hard to figure out.
This book had me kicking my feet and giggling in some parts and in others I was full on panicking and crying.
That ending!! Omg! I can’t wait for more!
I honestly can’t recommend Hunted enough! This is my new favorite fantasy book and I will definitely be rereading it many times! I can’t express enough how close to my heart this book is now!

Highly recommend reading Hide first!!!

A World of Danger, Rebellion, and Secrets.
✨️ Spoiler-Free ✨️

I had a feeling that 𝘏𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 was going to be a treat, especially after I'd read 𝘏𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘈 𝘉𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘐𝘯 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘕𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢, last year, and it didn’t disappoint. From the very first page, I was whisked back into Elymbria, a world filled with danger, rebellion, and secrets—and what a ride it was!

The world-building in 𝘏𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 was beautifully done. I could almost feel the crunch of twigs beneath my own feet and the forest air wrapping around me, drawing me into Aislinn’s journey as if I were right there beside her. 🌳🍂

But it’s the characters who truly made this story unforgettable. Aislinn is fiercely independent, and her determination to protect her brother Liam at all costs was both admirable and heartbreaking. She’s spent so long carrying that weight alone, believing she couldn't trust anyone else, and watching her navigate those emotions was both rewarding and painfully real—it’s something that resonated with me. Her growth felt authentic, and even when I questioned her choices, I understood why she took that path.

Then there’s Rune, Liam, and Killian they all had their moments to shine, and the other bonds that developed were a joy to witness. But don’t expect smooth sailing. There were characters I wanted to slap once or twice, and with a tangled web of alliances and betrayals, I definitely had a few “how could they?!”moments.

The twists and turns kept me guessing. Some I managed to predict, but others blindsided me completely. Gina Elizabeth knows how to weave a tale that keeps you on edge while also delivering those heart-wrenching emotional moments that make you pause and breathe it all in. ✨️🍃

If you love books with immersive worlds, complex characters, and plenty of twists, this one’s for you. I’m really excited about the next instalment, I need to know what happens next. 🥰

Thank you so much to Gina Elizabeth for sending me this eARC ✨️

Overall some parts were hard to get into and I felt frustrated with the writing and some story cliches but also the last 15% was great and I wanted to read the sequel immediately.

Notes for the author (if you read these?) biggest difficulty was first person present tense narration. It was constantly distracting. The pacing was actually too fast for me, which sounds like the opposite of other readers. Everything seemed like an action scene and I was constantly thrown off by the speed at which things happened. Like within 4 pages, 4 major events would happen and I would think wait what? What just happened? More description would help me get into the scenes. I also wish there was more world building, like what did stuff look like? What’s the economy like? Religion? Weather? Clothes? I don’t even know what most of the characters looked like. And why are people so hatey? I mean yes that’s people, but showing the evolution of the hatred and bigotry would help rather than jumping into a world of fear and hate just because people are rotten.

I appreciated that most of the characters were really straight forward in how they dealt with each other and their feelings, and that the main character had a lot of anxiety. (Jennifer armentrout actually uses her books to teach people about how to deal with panic attacks, which I think is cool, btw.) I wish there had been more happier moments for her, and also maybe just more description in general.

I hate love triangles but appreciated their straightforwardness. The ending was great and had a few unexpected twists.

What a great and interesting story! Totally love all the tropes and elements;
Shapeshifters, animals, war/rebellion, Found family, love triangle romance with a bit of spice and some good twists.

There are many loveable and interesting characters. I find Devlin really intruiging and I love the vibe he adds to the story. Rune, as I already knew from Hide, is such a wholesome cutie. I love his personality. There's one character that almost made me threw away my kindle.. making me so frustrated with her angry behaviour towards Aislinn. So yes, I did experience all kinds of emotions while reading this book. Also some very dark and emotional scenes which I love!

I really enjoyed the action scenes and the power development of Aislinn and the character development of Liam.
I was also pleasantly surprised with the spicy scenes. They were really good!

Love the writing and the development of the story. Gina did a great job! Truly enjoyed it!

What I liked slightly less was the beginning of the story. I struggled because the interaction between Aislinn and Liam was a bit frustrating to read with the stubborness and the annoyance and I wasn't liking how the story was going at first but then I just couldn't put it down, it was soooo good.

Thank you for the arc!

I struggled to get into this book initially—the pacing felt quite slow for the first 25–30%, which made it hard to stay engaged. However, once the story picks up, it becomes a more absorbing read.

Still, the tone felt very YA despite the characters being older, mainly due to the constant reference to parental figures, and the way the protagonists often acted impulsively or immaturely. Even Finley, who leads the resistance, defers to an older figure and doesn't appear to be capable of strategic thinking.

The romantic subplot is not quite a typical “Why Choose” dynamic. Neither love interest seems open to sharing, and the protagonist herself doesn’t seem entirely convinced she wants a romantic relationship with one of them.

There were also a few pivotal moments that didn’t quite land for me. For example, when Aislinn learns that her father isn’t her biological parent, no one—including Aislinn—seems curious about who her real father is. Similarly, it’s unclear how Rune ends up in the dungeon when other shifters apparently can’t get in.

The book ends with many open questions, clearly setting up the next installment. While I’m mildly intrigued, I’m not over eager to dive into the sequel just yet.

I was chuffed to be an ARC reader for the official first book in the Bonded in Blood series, and let me tell you - it did not disappoint.

Eight years after the novella, our FMC has finally found safety with her brother, Liam… 𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒐 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕. She’s 𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘆, 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲-𝗼𝗿-𝗱𝗶𝗲 - which is both her greatest strength 𝘢𝘯𝘥 her biggest flaw. When whispers of an uprising start spreading, things get 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘺 fast.

And just when she thinks she has it all figured out? BAM - her long-lost love interest, very much 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗺𝘆 (*excuse me, what now?!*). This book follows on 8 years after Hide, so it is a good idea to read that first. Aislinn and Liam have been managing to stay out of trouble living with their Dad's friend Killian in Frenhill. There's been no sign of their parents, or Rune.

Aislinn is struggling with her abilities, and trying to protect her ever trying brother. We follow her as she tries to come to terms with what she is, and what she can do. As well as learning that she might not have to everything on her own, and that it's ok to ask for help sometimes.

This story had my emotions all over the place. From laughing to crying to anger and back. Rune shows up and seems different... Or is he? There's new people to interact with, and to decide if they can be trusted or not. Events that happen that had me on the edge of my seat. Warning though. It is book one in a series, and it does end in a cliff-hanger, and boy has it left me hanging on for dear life waiting for the next book, and the chance to see where this story takes us.

It's here! I have been excitedly awaiting this book from Gina after reading the prequel novella Hide.

Aislinn is the famed soul shifter. She is feared and desired by both shifters and humans. Whatever side she fights for is sure to win the ongoing war. She's fiercely protective of her family and those she loves. Often leading her to get into stick situations.

Rune is more beast than man after living as a wolf for many years before meeting Aislinn. Not only is rune hot as sin, he's in love with Aislinn. He would do anything for her and to keep the shifters safe.

Devlin is dark, mysterious and Aislinn is drawn to him despite everything. Who is he and what is he up to?

A steamy love triangle, major twists that took me by surprise has quickly made this one of my most highly recommended books!

Gina Elizabeth is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine and everyone should be looking to see what she does next.
