Deceitful Assistant

I was a man that like order in my life. I thrived on it. I could not deal with the disorder. Hell, I could also not deal with people. When my new assistant came working for me, I gave her one look and thought she had an overbite that could rival a horse. Still, that did not matter to me. Her voice was that of an angel. That voice crept into every molecule of my body and grabbed on with claws that dug deep. When Avery Bates came into my life, she turned it upside down. My order and control went out the window. When her apartment went up in flames, I brought her home to my sanctuary. I took over her life and wormed my way into her life without care. I needed her, wanted her, but Avery ran. When she ran, the mighty Vincent Evans was brought to his knees.

Working for a control freak was fine. Working for one that did not even know your name was infuriating. When Vince Evans took over my life, I thought he was everything I always wanted in a man. That was until I found out he lied to me. Not only did he lie to me, but what little time we spend together was a lie too. So I ran. Was I making a mistake?
