My brother’s best friend broke my heart. Now I’m with someone he hates.
Crane Michaels is my older brother’s best friend—and he’s one of those quiet, brooding types who smirks when he thinks you’re not watching and bites his lip when he sees you, pretending he doesn’t care.
He’s a tattoo artist. A college guy. And thanks to some family drama, he ends up crashing with us for a while.
Let’s just say temptation gets the best of us, and one night changes everything.
Then he disappears. No goodbye. No explanation.
Five. Years.
Now he’s back—for my brother’s wedding. And I’m with someone else.
Crane’s the best man. I’m the maid of honor. Which means we have to play nice.

This is a first time read for me by this author and I really enjoyed this book. The banter between Cane and Sierra I thought was great, I like a strong FMC that doesn't take crap from anyone and gives as good as she gets. What can be said Crane? Well he's the type that of sexy devil you just can't seem to say no to. The tension between these two is something everyone can see, they just aren't willing to admit it to themselves. But when they do finally give in, it's fire for sure. The only thing I do wish is that the ending had more to it, it seemed like it just dropped off quickly after Crane and Sierra talked with the cops.
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review of Crane by Linzvon. I loved this story from the first chapter. Who doesn’t love a hot brother’s best friend? This was an amazing story of redemption and overcoming odds. It dealt with some heavy topics in a way that wasn’t traumatic, but refreshing. The chemistry and angst were addictive and I didn’t want to put it down! I still wanted more when it was done.
I would say this is a second chance romance with a small amount of forced proximity and a sexy brother’s best friend trope. Check your trigger warnings!
This was my first ever read by this author and i definitely will be reading more!! Crane is just 🤤 and it actually loved Sierras character aswell, I feel like I can relate to her and it made me like her more. The book was so well written and i hope Kiki gets a book. I need to know more about some characters like does Kiki find love? What happens with Declan? I would like to know more about his life with his dad and I need to know the police connection so PLEASE GIVE ME MORE 🤭 I dont want to give anything away so I dont want to say much else but read this books it makes you feel every emotion there is, sadness, anger, happiness, heart break, you will feel it all in this book. You may even need a fresh pair of underwear if you catch what im saying 🥵
Crane is the quiet, broody best friend of her brother Kai. Sierra is the beautiful party girl at the start of her adulthood. Between them is the barely noticeable ember of attraction waiting to take flame. One night of passion ignites that flame between them, but then suddenly Crane is gone without a word, and Sierra is left confused.
Five years later, he is back, but Sierra has moved on. Forced to communicate with each other for the sake of an upcoming wedding, while that flame of attraction be reignited, or has it burned out forever.
If you like a second chance romance, with a slow burn of attraction and a happy ever after, then this is the book for you.

What can you say about crane ???? Other than he’s hotter than the devil himself. But Due to his home life crane doesn’t think he deserved happiness and will push ppl away trying to help him. He’s in love with his best friends sister and she loves him back but the timing wasn’t quite right. After one hotter than hell night together his world falls apart and he does what he thinks is right and leaves all that he loves behind…… only to come back fiver years later for his best friends wedding and to win sierra’s heart only to find out she’s with the one person they all hatted back five years ago but no all is what it seems and sierra needs to choose to stay miserable or finally have hers and cranes happy ending. Yet again Linz makes another brilliant story absolutely loved it
I was generously provided a free copy of this book by the author, Linzvonc, and will be leaving an arc review voluntarily.
I'm not a fan of "brother's best friend" trope, but I'm glad I gave it a chance because, oh my gosh, I would have missed out on much! And let me tell you, Crane is my next hawt book boyfriend - adding him to my never-ending list! There's heartbreak and romance mixing with a rollercoaster of emotions! So many feels.
The angst is heavy in this one. It's been a while I think since I've read a good angsty book! From the start, I get hooked, and I don't lose interest. In fact, I'm always on the edge of my seat. Now, despite it being a slow burn, you can feel the pining, the yearning, and the heat through my kindle! Because the spice is totally spicing! The plotline is very good and moves smoothly, and both MMC(Crane) and FMC(Sierra) are loveable.
I love how protective Crane of her about everything. He's swoon-worthy, the silent and domineering type. And we love that, don't we? OH YES. Sierra is head-strong in her own way, fierce. Both of their lives are filled with battles and their own emotions, and they truly feel about each other - especially after that steamy night after five years. And I love the interactions of their flirtation and banter, honestly, so fun! The twists and turns keep you motivated, wanting for more and each page.
If you like a lot of spice and angst, rekindling of a past connection and characters who do deserve happiness, challenges obstacles and an emotional rollercoaster, a slow-burn romance filled with chaos, torment and yearning, healing and joy, then this one is for you.
A second-chance, slow-burn ache that hits straight in the ribs.
This story is pure emotional whiplash in the best way. It takes the classic “brother’s best friend” tension and cranks it up until every page thrums with unresolved longing and old wounds that never healed quite right.
Crane Michaels is the kind of brooding heartbreak you try not to look at—tattooed, quiet, sharp around the edges, and absolutely devastating when he finally lets his guard slip. The chemistry between him and the Sierra leaps off the page from the start: stolen glances, breathless moments in passing, the kind of temptation you can feel simmering even before anything happens.
And then one night changes everything… only for him to vanish without a trace.
Fast-forward five years, and the ache of that abandonment is still there—raw, buried, but never gone. She’s moved on, or at least she’s tried to. She’s with someone Crane can’t stand, and honestly? You can feel the tension gnawing at all of them. Crane returns for her brother’s wedding, and suddenly it’s forced proximity with a side of old heartbreak. Best man. Maid of honor. Shared duties. Shared history. Shared damage.
The push and pull is delicious. Their hostility cracks to reveal all that pent-up desire and all that unresolved pain. Linzvonc captures that messy, magnetic second-chance energy perfectly—where hate tastes like yearning, and every lingering look feels like a question neither of them is brave enough to answer.
This book is for you if you love: 💔 brother’s best friend chaos 💔 quiet, tattooed men who ruin you on accident 💔 second chances soaked in longing 💔 forced proximity at the worst possible time 💔 heartbreak that comes back swinging
It’s emotional, intoxicating, and irresistibly addictive. I could not stop reading.
This book took me by surprise in a good way. The author did her thing with this one. The tropes are flowing. Brother's best friend. Don't worry the brother is cool with anything that goes down between them. In fact, he is hoping that something happens. Kai Carson would love to see his little sister, Sierra, with his best friend. He knows they like each other. Everyone can tell, but for some reason Crane Michaels refuses to go there. I'm not going to lie. Sierra Carson is a little wild. Both Kai and Crane tend to have to get out of sticky situations. Everything is status quo until one night all the decorum goes out the window. Crane and Sierra spend one night together.
Unfortunately Crane's home life is a mess. In fact he spends most of his time at the Carsons' house. Crane's mother calls him to help and they take off. Flash forward five years. Crane is back in town for Kai's upcoming wedding. Kai refused to get married without Crane by his side. Sierra is seriously dating a guy that fits the bill financially but his attitude towards her is seriously lacking. Crane knows he can't just jump back into Sierra's life after leaving without a word. He does want to tell her why he had to leave. He left right as his life was falling into place. Back then, he never thought he was good enough for Sierra. Time has taught him that the heart wants what the heart wants. Crane's heart wants Sierra. He understands that she is in a relationship, but refuses to sit around while her boyfriend treats her poorly. That type of stuff doesn't fly with Crane or Kai. Will Crane get a chance to win Sierra back? His leaving effected both of them. Both longed for the other. Can they roll back the hands of time and make everything right again?
A beautifully messy, emotional second chance romance that grabbed me from page one
Crane was everything I want from a brother’s best friend story: angsty, tender, addictive, and built around characters I genuinely cared about. The sibling bond in this one absolutely made it for me. The FMC’s brother loves her fiercely, roots for her happiness, and avoids the tired overprotective clichés. Their dynamic felt refreshingly real and added so much heart to the story.
Crane himself is the perfect broody tattooed hero. He is soft where it counts, rugged everywhere else, and carrying more weight than he ever lets on. The family turmoil that pulls him away is not just drama for the sake of it. It is grounded, dark, and heartbreaking in a way that makes the second chance reunion feel earned. When these two collide again five years later, the chemistry is instant and combustible.
The plot brings jealousy, forbidden longing, forced proximity, and a deliciously messy love triangle, but it never loses sight of the emotional core. The FMC’s journey back to the love she lost, and never really let go of, was believable and deeply satisfying. And the happily ever after absolutely delivers.
If you love tattooed heroes, complicated families, high stakes reunions, and romances that balance heat with heart, Crane is absolutely worth the read.
Who doesnt love a brothers best friend story and Crane does not disappoint. Linzvonc splits this book into two parts the past and the present which sets the scene beautifully between our two main characters and when they reconnect later in time (our present). From the get go you know that Crane and Sierra are meant to be , their chemistry oozes of the pages and you are literally waiting for the at moment when they give in to their feelings. The back and forth these two have is on point and this is not simply a story of these two waiting for each other as they both still get on with their own lives but when their lust overflows these two are dynamic together, one night was never going to be enough but Crane has his own issues he is facing and makes a decision that leaves Serria crushed and heartbroken.
Years later they reconnect for her brothers wedding bringing these two in each others paths, but for Sierra she has moved on she is with Declan, but all it takes is one look for Crane to know that Sierra is his. Crane will stop at nothing to get what he wants, he lost the girl once and isnt willing to walk away this time. Sierra cant turn away from the man that has always had her heart, but things now are different, cant she reallyn resist what her heart craves.
Loved this story and another great addition by Linzvonc.
First and foremost, I absolutely love Linz Von C books! I am truly excited to be Advance Reader Copy of Crane.
From the moment I picked up my book to read, I loved the chemistry and angst were addictive. Ever since I finished the book I haven’t been able to stop until I completed it, I still craved more.
This novel falls under the category of second-chance romance, incorporating elements of forced proximity and the sexy brother's best friend trope.
Crane, the protagonist, is undeniably attractive. However, due to his troubled home life, he struggles with feelings of unworthiness, causing him to push away those who care for him. He is in love with his best friend's sister, Sierra, who reciprocates his emotions. Unfortunately, their timing is off. After a passionate night together, Crane's world is turned upside down, prompting him to leave behind everything he loves.
Years later, he returns for his best friend's wedding, determined to win Sierra's heart. However, he discovers that she is now involved with someone they all despised years prior. Nevertheless, appearances can be deceiving, and Sierra must choose between her current state of misery and a potential happily-ever-after with Crane. Pick up the hook to see her decision you may be surprised or you may not be. It’s all about what one can do to truly find happiness.
I'm a fan of Linzvonc's work and have read the majority of her works up to this point. But for some inexplicable reason, this book just didn't click with me. Reading cliches like this one, where I find comfort in knowing the unknown, is one of my guilty pleasures. But I'd just like to say that after the first half of the book, all of the characters were okayish, if not downright boring. Crane's character has a passive aggressive vibe to me. He could've been a lot better and more good, but I guess I'm a sucker for annoying domineering alpha males who make rookie love-life mistakes. Sierra, on the other hand, I didn't connect with her and her partying ways. The character which I liked the most was Kai and some of his underappreciated qualities that made me adore him the most were his understanding, love for his sister, and invaluable friendship with Crane. Also, I would have appreciated it a lot more if all of the characters' relationships were described in detail so that I could better understand them. For example, Derek's character, Sierra and Lorena's relationship, and Kiki's backstory.
Plot - This could have been a lot better. In terms of pacing, it was just right until the first half, after which I lost interest in reading, and the ending was complete anticlimactic.

📚ARC Review 📚 I’m a sucker for brothers best friend then throw in second chance romance! Sign me up! These two were hooked on each other from chapter 1. You could feel it but they never wanted to cross the line and cause tension within their family and friends. When these two finally had their moment boy was it spicy! Then enter a 5 year jump which honestly made sense but also was sad to read. Sierra moves on but deep down Crane stole her heart and never gave it back. This man had his demons to work through which is fair but still it was tough. The way that Crane protects Sierra from anything and everything…..SWOON! This story was one I couldn’t Put down. Sierras ex….wow what a petty horrible person. I hope his pillow is hot on both sides every night. That man was terrible from the beginning. Overall this story was a quick sweet/spicy read! Highly recommend adding this to your TBR if you enjoy second chance romance, brothers best friend, forced proximity and protective MMC.
Thank you Linz Vonc for an arc of this story. It was great!
This is my honest review of Crane by Linzvonc. This book tells an amazing story of two strong characters, who face a lot of challenges & difficulties in their journey to finding their way back to each other. This story will suck you in from beginning to end and leave you wanting even more. Linzvonc truly has a way with words and telling a gripping, spicy tale that will have you wondering how the next book can possibly top the previous one.
This story follows the characters; Crane a strong silent type who has dealt with so much trauma and abuse from his father, while trying to protect his mother. He has always had a thing for his best friend’s little sister Sierra.
Then you have Sierra said best friend’s little sister. She has had a crush on Crane for a long time, they finally do something bout it, and then Crane…. Read to find out what happens between Crane & Sierra and all the other characters.
The chaos at the start of this one was incredibly entertaining, along with all that chemistry simmering under the surface. There was a lot going on with the characters in this one, and the story had my full attention. Their complexity and all of the emotions that they were battling with had me feeling all the feels. The twists and turns along the way were completely unexpected and made for an even more intense reading experience as Crane and Sierra continued to face both internal and external forces against their happiness. The reunion after five years was so fun to read. The banter and attraction was flaring into a flame too hot to ignore. I absolutely loved how this story was put together from start to finish!
I was kindly given this book, to then leave an honest review. Here goes :
I was hooked on this book from the first chapter. There was a lot going on, but Linzvonc made it easy to follow along with her. There was plenty of angst in here, which only made me keep on wanting to read it. There were serious issues, but with a bit of laughter in it. 😃
The chemistry behind the main two characters always shone throughout the pages and left you feeling warm , or was that the sexy scenes, which were very eye-opening and also heart warming, with the connection that Linzvonc made between the characters. I couldn't put it down in the end and finished it at 3am.
I would say if you like Romantic Suspense mixed with a bad boy troupe. This is for you. Buy it on 1st December.😍😍😍
Sierra and Crane's story is so good. Their chemistry is intense, it's palpable. Crane is Sierra's brother's best friend. He ends up staying with their family for a little while and their attraction grows. Then one thing leads to another. But then all of a sudden with no warning, Crane leaves. For Five Years! He broke Sierra's heart. But now the tattooed bad boy is back and she's with another man. But this time he's not going anywhere and he wants to make her his forever. I loved the smirking, cocky Crane. His determination to win back Sierra was great. I loved the jealousy, the longing and all the emotions that came with it. This is a fantastic second chance romance that you really have to read.
This story is incredibly engaging and fast-paced, keeping you intrigued and invested until the very last page. I simply adored it! Crane and Sierra faced numerous challenges to achieve what they have together. Crane's tendency to push people away stems from his belief that he doesn’t deserve happiness. Their reunion after five years was nothing short of perfection, with attraction rekindling into a passionate flame. This book evokes all the emotions, making it feel like a thrilling rollercoaster ride. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a blend of spice, angst, and chaos. Linzvonc truly delivered an unforgettable experience with this book! Don't miss out on reading it!
Wow! This is my first time reading a book by this author. She is incredibly talented and has a way with her words! I struggled to put this book down, I just could not stop reading it! The banter between Sierra and Crane is unforgettable! The flirting is top notch. Crane is your sexy go to bad boy, while Sierra is your full of life, sassy fmc. The plot line is incredible and it leaves you wondering what happens next. Spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️, plot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re wanting to read this book, don’t hesitate! It will be worth it. I can’t get enough of these two, and I WISH I could read more about their future and what happens between them.
This was a beautiful second chance for love story. It was short and sweet and I loved Crane and Sierra. Their push and pull was sweet and a little heartbreaking to start, but when they got together they were fire!🔥 I loved that her brother Kai always supported them and was never an obstacle. It was a refreshing change, plus they had plenty of obstacles without him! I wanted the book to keep going, honestly. I also kind of want Kiki’s story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and seriously want more! I love LinzVonC’s book and this was no exception! I was lucky enough to get an ARC for this book and was so glad that I got a chance to read and review it early!💜
I was all in for this book until the end. It seemed rushed. Like the drama of it all came too quick and the cops au it on thick that they stole the diamonds, made a whole thing about it. Couldn’t wait until the next day to talk to them and then after a few hours are just like “you’re free to go” with no explanation? What happened?? Did Declan really have them? Did they decide they WERE a gift so no crime? Wtf happened there? It was so good until that and then just ends. I gave it 3 ⭐️ cause it was decent, just had a rushed ending.

Another fantastic quick read from Linzvonc on my Galatea app! Brother’s best friend, angst, some enemy to lovers, he falls first, and forced proximity troupes in there!
I did feel like the second half of the book was a little rushed though and I wanted a bit more background or context to some of the things that came up. Like, did Declan really do IT? or why did the police officer just BELIEVE Sierra??? And WHAT DID CRANE DO in the 5 yrs that did get into trouble? It just wrapped up too fast for me. Regardless, GREAT STORY, I would definitely recommend and read more books by this author 📖
Sierra loves Crane. Crane loves Sierra. Crane leaves for five years leaving Sierra behind. He returns for his best friend and Sierra’s brother’s wedding.
The author has created two lovely characters. Readers’ will become invested in their relationship. There is tons of drama and angst. You will root for them to make it as a couple with a happily ever after. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one by this author.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
5/5 for Crane! 🥰Brothers best friend ❤️Second Chance 🥰Forced proximity ❤️Jealous tattooed hottie The first half is all of the slow burn chemistry. The build up all through the first half has such a good plot and character development. Not to mention the built up suspense on what makes Crane leave for five years! Then, he’s back and he comes in like a wrecking ball! Alllll of the hotness, masculinity, and a man on a mission😮💨😮💨 Sierra is a great FMC and her brother, Kai, is the brother we all want! The banter is also off the charts with this one!
If you’re looking for a brothers best friend romance then this is for you. Crane is Sierra’s older brothers best friend and they have always had a spark but tried to ignore it. Until they don’t.
Their banter is absolutely hilarious. Something happens and Crane has to go away but Sierra doesn’t know why. She tries to move on but her fiancé is a controlling idiot so when Crane comes back to town their relationship starts to develop again.
Crane and Sierra are just 🔥. I absolutely loved this book as I do with all of this authors books. Love it!
Wow what an absolutely amazing book. I just loved Crane and Sierra’s story. I got so many different emotions reading Crane. Sadness, anger, crying, happiness. Yep got it all. It’s so hard to feel all these emotions while reading a book. Linzvonc always has a way with getting my emotions out. I love it when an author can do that. Just amazes me. This book is a brother’s best friend forbidden romance. I was hooked beginning to end.
Kudos to Linzvonc to an another masterpiece of a book. Can’t wait for the next one keep them coming!!!
I felt like the characters lacked motive and passion. In the first half of the novel I was engrossed in the cliche even though brothers best friend is one of my least favorite cliches. Through the second half I enjoyed the pacing and development but I felt as though the characters and their emotions fell flat often being stated instead of shown. The ending left no resolution in regards to a serious plot point and that was incredibly annoying. It’s more of 2.5 stars but I felt generous.
Crane isn’t your typical story of brother’s best friend that wants to ravage little sister. It’s so much more. Family trauma, jealousy, playing hard to get, and torturing each other in the worst ways while denying themselves and each other what they really want. The banter is perfect, the spice is spicy, and the miscommunication is just the right balance of “keep trying” and wanting to throw my phone at the wall😅. The scene in the car, pulled over on the side of the road, made the ENTIRE book, IYKYK🥵🔥👏🏼 Pure perfection, and I highly recommend this book!
This is my first read from this author and I will definitely be checking out more !! What to say - first it’s an excellent well written story where you can feel the tension , angst & sizzling chemistry between Crane & Sierra !
Crane tries to protect his heart by pushing people away and he has deeply hurt Sierra … I could not read fast enough!
Highly recommend!.
