Some criminals hide in the shadows. Others change the game entirely

When a routine jewel theft leads to an unexpected confrontation on a rooftop, Paranormal Defense Agent Izzie Berens thinks she’s wrapping up a standard case. But when the suspect—a winged Arpak—hurls a magical artifact at her before collapsing, it sets off a chain reaction that exposes something far more sinister lurking beneath Austin’s magical underworld.

What starts as a simple takedown quickly spirals into a deadly mystery when an unregistered magical creature attacks a city cop, surviving gunshots, stun spells, and even anti-magic rounds. The problem? He wasn’t supposed to be magical at all. As Izzie and her partner Rafe dig deeper, they uncover traces of dark magic that shouldn’t exist—powerful, insidious, and growing stronger by the day.

With tensions rising and the Arcane Syndicate's influence spreading like wildfire, Izzie is forced to confront an unsettling this isn’t just another case. This is the beginning of something bigger, something designed to rewrite the rules of magic itself. And if she doesn’t stop it in time, Austin—and the entire magical world—may never be the same.

Fans of Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, and Jim Butcher will love The Hidden Threat, a pulse-pounding urban fantasy packed with action, intrigue, and a heroine who refuses to back down.

Secrets are surfacing. Magic is evolving. And time is running out. Grab The Hidden Threat today and uncover the danger before it’s too late!

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

Another battle

Izzie, Rafe and the PDA are on another case, this time someone is turning non-magicals into beasts. Izzie and her team will have to figure things out quickly if they are going to keep more people from dying. I enjoy the mix of characters in this series and the storylines, magic, and action are great. I am looking forward to more if Izzie and her friends.

Exciting.

So, so very good. I'm really enjoying this series.
Izzie is fearless, and with her lovely partner, Rafe, and her gorgeous love interest, Caden, she's taking in the baddies and winning.

Now, where is book four.

Arcane syndicate returns

The character of Izzie is back in Austin, focused on her job for the PDA. The story needs some humor and additional character development, Izzie seems one note, work, work, work, no play time, also Caden and Rafe need to be further developed.

good

I love Izzy and her human partner. Their latest case is one of the strangest ones so far. They have two dead Wolfman and they’re not sure what is causing them to do that. Is it the werewolf virus or spell? I will be reading the next book in the series
