Picking up where Fall of Snow left off but what happens next. Now that Snow is free of contracted Huntsmen she transforms the manor and takes over her mother's shop.
Lines between right and wrong seem to blur and stakes are high when secrets are kept and values are questioned.
This book follows two incredible love stories. One FM and one MM. Both are beautiful, witty and ohhhhh the banter.
Sensitive subjects are spoken about but don't respectfully as well as representing. Be sure to check content warnings for your own boundaries of topics.
It is amazing to see this duology complete but I am not ready to let these characters go. From found family to self discovery, this duology has so much depth. The compassion and sheer willpower that transcends is indescribable. ✨️📚✨️

Love that they call her the Lady of the Orchard.
Watching Snow find her own power while dealing with her mother’s dark legacy was definitely the best part. The slow-burn chemistry between Snow and Huck (and even the new vibes with Coy!) was everything. The tension kept me on the edge of my seat just as much as the actual plot did—it felt so genuine and not at all forced. I actually loved this book more than The Fall of Snow.
If you're into epic fantasy retellings with a bit of spice, you 100% need to add this to your shelf!

My favorite book got a sequel! I couldn't be more pleased with this duology.
Just when you thought Snow's story was coming to the end, it was just the beginning. Snow is such a relatable character even if you have nothing in common with her story. I felt all her emotions in this novel. The pull towards light and dark kept me on my toes.
I was pleased to find plenty of spice and more time with my book boyfriend, Huck.
It was everything I could have wanted wrapped up in a little bow 😉
I loved the dual perspective with Coy and his budding relationship. His chapters were perfectly placed throughout the book and not overwhelming to the story.
Gabrys kept Coy true to his character but added so much depth. Every time I saw his name, I was so excited to see what he was up to next. Their romance was sweet, full of fantasy and desire; Chef's kiss.
I'm sad to see this series end, but so glad with how it turned out.
This story stays true to the original with some subtle nods to the classic Snow White tale but with plenty of Spice and twists!

This is not the Snow White and the Seven Dwarves from the Disney movie. Snow is a survivor who has fought for her life. Grumpy - Huck- is a warrior and commander who has fought in wars to protect his people. In the second half of this duology, Snow and Huck are starting their new life together. What should be one of the happiest moments in their lives is being plagued with a looming war and … poisoned apples. Throughout this book, Snow has to face many challenges including learning who she really is. As the saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, or can it?
I really love Snow’s story through the entire series. She is a fighter, loves fiercely, and always tries to do the right thing. But she has her faults. We also get a story centered around Coy, the bashful warrior who is just trying to figure out who he is. Wanting to be loved and accepted by those in his life, even when he is struggling to accept himself sometimes. While the story is fantastical, the human emotions and internal struggles are real and relatable. It’s easy to fall in love with all the characters. The plot had me thinking I had certain things figured out, just to question myself later. In the end, the story feels complete. This was a great finale to the duology and I truly enjoyed both books.

I love Coy!! Look I took my time with this book. Savored it. I needed to savor it. I wasn’t ready to reach the last page and say goodbye to these characters I absolutely adore. If you haven’t read The Fall Of Snow then what are you doing? Grab the book immediately and prepare yourself for The Rise Of Snow and everything that comes with it! These books deserve every single star! All of them! I don’t have enough words to express how much I loved this fairytale retelling!!

I was fortunate to read these back to back as they were gifted arcs. I just couldn't wait to know what happened next for Snow and Huck.
The story follows directly on from Book 1. There's yearning from the MMC and the FMC also from another new coupling
Theres heartbreak and intrigue. The questions from book 1 get answered. The multiple pov aspect was great. I really enjoying being in multiple characters heads.
I'm hoping for a spin off set of books /novellas relating to some of the other characters

I loved that we got to watch Snow grow into her own, find her strength, but also realize that it’s okay to let people help you. This book was so good!

What a great conclusion to the duology!
The story picks up shortly after the end of The Fall Of Snow, where Snow is fairly settled into her new role as Lady of the Orchard. But following in the footsteps of her mother is no easy feat, especially when dark magic is involved. Seeing how Snow uses her power throughout the story was very fun to read. Plus the continuation of her romance with Huck was swoonworthy.
The dual perspective was a great addition to this story. Not only did we get to know one of our favorites at a deeper level but once the two storylines met up the pay off was momentous. Plus his romance plot line was just so sweet which was a good balance against some of the darker themes Snow deals with.
There were a few sections throughout the story I thought could have been fleshed out a little more. I wanted more details and some scenes moved by too fast.
Overall a really great book 2, a wholly distinct story that brings the characters we love to their happily ever after.

The Rise of Snow, Book 2 in the Guard Your Heart Duology answers the question on what happens after....
I absolutely loved this extension of the traditional Snow White retelling. In Book 2 Snow and Huck are separated by the upcoming war, and Snow as the new Lady of the manor learns how hard it is to draw a line with dark magic when she believes she is using it for a good reason. As lines are crossed and friendships are betrayed I was drawn into every page.
I also loved the secondary MM romance with Coy. He is just a cinnamon roll softie and I was cheering for him since book 1. I loved the chapters from his POV.
I do hope the author continues with perhaps a novella or another book on some of the other characters. There is so much potential there!! While I loved reading about Coy I think it make me for feral to see what happens to the other "dwarfs."

This was a brilliant sequel and wrap up ! I love the descent into darkness with good intentions as it added another dimension to an FMC I love. Huck is still hot hot hot! I also really liked Coy finding love! If you’re looking for a Snow White retelling I would highly recommend this book and the 1st, The Fall of Snow!

I want to thank Tara Gabrys for the opportunity to advance read this amazing book. I had that the duology is complete it almost makes me want to cry because these 2 books were phenomenal. I love how in this book snow become free, made changes and took over her mom's bookstore. I love the multiple relationships. I love the witty and funny banter. I also love most of all snow found her inner self confidence more. This did slow burn which I absolutely loved, and it will always be my favorite trope. Overall, this duology is one you don't forget, it is one you buy in paperback and read everyone in a while. It was absolutely phenomenal and I hate its complete. Maybe we will get more in the future.

As Snow discovers who is out to get her, she realizes her past is harder to escape than she thought. With all of her found family serving in a battle, Snow is forced to face this threat alone. She realizes that she doesn't need to do this all alone...
Speaking of being alone...
Coy has his best friends in Huck and Snow, but he also is desperate for a love and companionship like theirs. While he is shifted as a wolf, and working for the army to bring fuzed tonics and battle ready
"potions" to the frontline he has an unexpected meeting. A poet with an affinity to speaking to animals, and a confidence that is opposite of Coy's and he is smitten. But, are those feelings returned.
Revenge, secrets, inner turmoil and fighting for one's own truth are just some themes of this HEA Snow White Retelling.

I’m actually really sad about this one. I really loved the first book and was excited to see where things would go… It just felt really low stakes and repetitive in comparison.
The world felt like it got smaller as we rarely left the setting of the manor. The big threat literally came in the form of gifts, and sadly I saw the “twist” coming from the first second I met the character.
I enjoyed the secondary storyline the best - it was sweet and new, but literally a sub plot to the main story. I hate to leave such a low review since I did enjoy the start of this story so much and would still recommend book one.

well, Tara has done it again — she made me laugh, mean mug my kindle, cry, and giddily kick my feet while reading this book. This book ends the series but thankfully Tara has mastered creating characters that live on in your mind rent free long after you close the book.

This was the perfection conclusion for this duology. I love a good fairytale retelling and this was perfection. Tara has a way of balancing heavy, sensitive topics with a sweet love story and this one just once again proves that. We get more of Snows romance, but also we get a MM romance with Coy and omg it might have been my favorite thing. Coys growth and character development was done so well and I just continued to fall in love with his character. It was a whirlwind of emotions just as I expected and I loved every second of it. I’m so sad that this is the end, but I think it was so beautifully done and it solidified that if Tara writes it, I will read it.
