Sticks: A Collection of Sticks & the People Who Love Them, from the Founders of Stick Nation

Rate this book
The ultimate guide to the art and science of stick collecting. Because nobody knows sticks like the founders of Stick Nation.

What makes a particularly good stick? Is it the stick’s length and sturdiness—a trusty walking staff, perhaps, that conjures up fantasies of wizards and battle? Or is it the stick’s usefulness—say, as a drumstick on a log in the woods, or as a slingshot for propelling pebbles at your friend's face? Maybe what makes a stick great is its unique shape, like Poseidon’s trident or a Stormtrooper’s blaster gun?

Or maybe what makes a stick great is simply how it makes you feel.

In Sticks, enjoy an incredible collection of Stick Nation’s most magnificent sticks—some from as far as Cameroon!—and meet the people (and dogs!) who love them. Stick Nation founders Logan Jugler and Boone Hogg also share their top tips for finding and classifying sticks, encouraging readers to let loose, have fun, and embrace their imaginations.

Filled with unforgettable sticks found throughout the world, Sticks inspires readers to head into the great outdoors to find a stick of their own.

This is a book filled with
pictures of random
people and the sticks
they found and fell
in love with.

This comes from the annuls
of the Stick Nation website.
Yes.
You read that correctly.
There is an
entire
online community
dedicated to
sticks.

Sticks that people
all over the
world
have picked up
in their travels
sorted it by the sites
rigorous standards,
wonky,
is an actual archetype.

It's full of people
having mad fun
with something
ubiquitous to the
human condition.

Sticks

Not sure if this
renews my faith in humanity
or crushes it further.

This book is great for those that love sticks. It has details on how to categorize your sticks then what attributes each stick has. I got this book for my son that loves sticks, we discovered he only really picks out wands to play with. obviously they can be used for other things with imagination but now his stick world has opened up.
loads of pictures of many sticks he enjoyed reading each caption on where they were found etc.

With this book you can keep your stick collection organized, and be envious of the many other sticks people have found.

What an incredible book to start my 2026 reading journey. Sticks aren’t just sticks. They can be swords, wands, staffs, animals, you name it! Sticks unlock our playful, creative side. They grow freely until they break off a tree, waiting for someone to pick it up and use their imagination. I now have a newfound appreciation for sticks that I’ve never had before! Thank you Britt and Nick for this amazing book!

A book of sticks. Well photographed, from all over the world. Sometimes pictured with the people or dogs who love the sticks best, sometimes the stick alone, and sometimes a collection of sticks (stash). The sticks are categorized and reviewed. Quite a few D&D references in the reviews. Humans are weird, occasionally in a good way.

Yes this is a book about sticks, but it’s also a book full of whimsy and calling to your younger self and that imagination we all had as kids. It’s calling out to us and in this world we need more of that imagination now more than ever.

Love the book- full of whimsy, personality, and people of culture. One of these single topic books that sort of feel like a cash grab after they blow up online and I don’t think the book adds anything that the online community is missing, but it’s hard not to read to the end and be charmed.

Expecting a book on identifying tree bark and ending up falling down a rabbit hole of humor and ultimately agreeing, that yes, sticks are really cool!
