Un tome correct, sans plus. L’action est toujours là, bien rythmée, mais l’histoire commence à tourner un peu en rond. Les combats sont efficaces visuellement, mais on sent moins de tension ou d’enjeu réel qu’auparavant. Les personnages évoluent peu, et certains dialogues manquent de profondeur.

Bref, un volume divertissant, mais qui donne l’impression que la série stagne un peu. À lire si tu suis déjà la saga, mais pas indispensable en soi.

Another great volume. Here we get a lot more focus on the aliens and how every faction actually classifies each other. We start getting multiple perspectives now, including one from an advanced race ranking how strong everyone is. It’s interesting watching the aliens misclassify things, writing off entire categories as “not a threat, not a threat,” when really they’re just working off incomplete data. They haven’t seen the upper echelon yet, no higher ranking parasite, no higher ranking demon, no higher ranking titan. So their whole read on the world is skewed.

We’re also slowly expanding into new territory, the crimson forest, the titan’s spiral mountain, and finally getting real screen time with the demon lord. Seeing his personality up close and watching him clash with the top tiers of other factions was great. I love this kind of top of the food chain versus top of the food chain setup, it’s exactly the energy I want out of a series like this, the same reason I love that dynamic in One Punch Man, watching the strongest of each side finally test each other.

Big takeaway from this volume, the ship the kaiju destroyed earlier definitely wasn’t demon king tier. Even a full group of combat leaders together couldn’t take down a single alien in its hyper armor, but the demon lord solo’d one, hyper armor and all. So if that’s the gap, the mothership is probably sitting at true upper echelon level, meaning we’re building toward a real clash between the top of the kaiju, the demons, and the titans all at once. Can’t wait to see that play out, especially with the introduction of God apparently coming.

The first few volumes weren't really taking advantage of the worlds colliding concept. They felt more like an adventure series as we were constantly introduced to new characters, factions, enemies, and environments, but a too fast a pace. Here it feels like that's more or less out of the way, and the concept can run wild a little more.

I was on the verge of giving this 4 stars, the first Versus volume with that rating, until the sick as fuck fight in #19 happened. A lot of the developments with the Lawless, Parasites, and Nature felt interesting but not quite the spectacle of prior volumes, but the series immediately returned to form with #19.

Il demone in copertina mi è sembrato tanto essere uscito da Dragonball.

E' successa troppa roba in questo numero e spesso non si riusciva a capire bene (disegni troppo piccoli). Ma il combattimento tra il demone e il celeste è stato veramente bello!
