This is a story of survival and revenge. Tim Turner must not only survive the malicious nasty cruel deceitful world of corporate politics, but prepare for the future apocalypse that he is sure to come. Though suffering from severe mental illness inflicted upon him by the 1 percenters and beautiful people in life, Tim manages to extract sweet revenge and payback permitting him to pursue his prepper lifestyle finding love along the way. Together, Tim and Laura surround themselves with a group of like-minded individuals who become a tight knit family while preparing for and surviving the worst the world has to offer.
The story started out interesting then it just got stupid. Somewhat decent character development but it became lacking as the storyline progressed. Others will say there needs to be a book 2 because the way the story ended. I say "thank God! its over." The storyline is not predictable as most stories of this genre are as it really is just a train wreck of a story that thankfully ends.
There was the usual poor editing as with most of Ross Carson's novellas and novels. The usual misspelled words, bad grammar, and homophone usage. Removing the gratuitous sexual connotations would drop about 40 pages off this story, and no one would notice and the ending would still be the same. There is a difference between Marshall law and martial law and both are used but this gets into that misspelled word thing I always bring up with this author. Sometimes, they are really humorous.
This story burned about four to five hours of my evening time spread over a couple of days. After reading a story such as this, I reflect and wonder if my time could have been better spent. Then I remember the really bad authors who make Ross Carson look like a paid professional. The choice of my next book could be worse, much worse than this one.
Really didn’t need or want to hear about bedroom exploits but no other complaints. Excellent story and character development. Wish their builder had survived!!!
About the same as all the other stories. BUT! Nice to see that someone has shown how stupid it is to waste money on a island bugout spot. Now finish the story, F16's land with you, there has got to be more to tell.
Where is the rest of the story? I enjoy Ross Carson's stories but they need a follow up after getting me really interested in a character then you never hear from him( or her) again.
