He authored over 40 books, wrote nationally syndicated columns, and was a favorite guest of numerous television and radio personalities.

This incredibly creepy book is an attempt to give sex advice to teenagers - on all sex subjects such as social dating rules to masturbation to pregnancy. This doctor includes snippets of letters written to him by angst-filled teenagers to make his points.

This is a book that saved my life in the 1970s. I was sexually assaulted at the age of ten by an older boy. Not raped. He was a sadist who tortured me and told me he would kill me if I told anyone. I repressed the memory hard for the next 12 years. I probably would've killed myself at age 16 if the Methodist minister had not taught me the facts of life during communion training and recommended this book full of simple matter-of-fact guidance about the Methodist approach to sexuality. Shedd is a Methodist minister who wrote a book full of religious-based advice about sex for teens. I was on the brink of ending it all because I hated myself for my repressed secret. But the answers in this book plus the helpful words of a good friend talked me into putting down the knife. This book is old now. But the truth it provides is still worth more than gold. It saved my life.
