There is a murder in town, and the victim’s baby is missing without a trace. The victim happens to be a patient of Dr. Delores "Lorie" Shaw, a psychiatrist in a small town. As detective Chris Greyson enters Dr. Lorie’s world, the number of murders begins to rise, and somehow, all of them connect back to the doc. As the two work together to solve the cases, their feelings for each other grow. But each step closer to the truth brings Lorie closer to Chris, closer to uncovering the mystery, and closer to breaking because a huge secret lies hidden beneath it all.
“Break” is Brenna Ferrell’s debut novel, and I must say it is a captivating and fast-paced murder mystery that kept me hooked from start to finish. Every single time I thought I had everything figured out, unexpected twists emerged and revealed an entirely new layer of truths. Overall, I found this first book in the Greyson series incredibly interesting, and I can’t wait to dive into the next ones.
