This is one of the finest mystery/horror novels I’ve read for a very long time; an easy read with an ending that haunts me still. The only author I know who can build tension better than Jeffrey Walker is Shirley Jackson. Jeffrey is a master at writing vulnerable, relatable characters and seamlessly weaves cosmic horror together with noir-style. I can’t recommend this novel enough. I’m eager to see what else he writes next. If you are a fan of cosmic horror, check out his podcast on Spotify: Acephale. He has a great voice for narration and I’m always excited to see he’s released a new episode.
