More Than a Feeling

Rate this book
MORE THAN A FEELING is a second chance, small town, rock star romance bursting with off-the-charts-chemistry and heat.

When Cooper Hood left Snowberry, Montana ten years ago, he swore he’d never go back to the town that painted him with the same brush as his addict mother. But right in the middle of his band’s national tour he gets a call to come home: his mom’s got a whopper of a secret to reveal.

Daisy Charbonneau never thought she'd see her high school crush again. Especially after his band hit the big time. But when the talent she hired for her resort’s annual Huckleberry Festival bails on her, she’s desperate to find a replacement act--and her rock star crush is just the answer she's looking for.

As they work together, a crush deepens into so much more, but who falls in love in two weeks? Especially when Cooper’s never coming back to town, and Daisy’s never going to leave it.

Sometimes I just need a “feel good” book. You know a not too complicated story with a sunny female character, a tight knit and supportive community and the lost child coming back wearing the skin of a rock star.

You’ll have some drama with a villain trying to undermine our hero’s work but not too much angst, happy moments aplenty and will just want to kick the MC’s butt once or twice as he is missing on a huge opportunity. And by the end of the story you’ll have a big smile and a fond heart. Well “More Than a Feeling” fits the role perfectly.

I had never read anything written by Erika Kelly but I just needed some second chance romance featuring a rock star so on a whim I decided to read this one.

I can now say I loved it enormously. I did not want to stop reading as I was either biking, walking or horse riding in Montana (a State I fell in love with while on holiday two years ago) right alongside big hunk of men. Cooper, our hero was not the only hottie in the book. Ethan, Nash and co. looked yummy too. It must be all that fresh air and outdoor activities but I was singing “It’s Raining Men” all along.

Now back to the story: Cooper is the lead guitarist of the famous rock band Blue Fire. He’s back for two days in his hometown as his mom promised “The Big Reveal” about his real father. Cooper had a very hard childhood being the town junkie kid. He often had to sleep in the woods as a kid and went hungry for days. No one helped him aside the music teacher who opened Cooper to another world and a more promising future. To say he does not want to come back is the understatement of the year.

But there is a bright light in this gloomy journey: Daisy. She was Cooper teenage crush.

I loved Daisy. She is one of these sunny people you can’t help but like. Always enthusiast, working her @ss off to save the town’s economy and give her community a bright future while helping to develop a resort she truly was a good person. Don’t worry, she’s feisty as well and you won’t have a goody two shoes with no personality. That girl can stand her ground and I loved when she battled with the Mayor Stuart!

When she meets Cooper again, all her old feelings rush to the surface. Cooper was also the guy she dreamt of kissing and more. She knew his difficult upbringing and wanted to help and protect him all along. She was the only person he let in when he was young.

As happy as they are to meet again, what’s the point to begin something as he is only staying two days in town right? Only there is a twist to the story and soon enough Cooper’s stay will be extended and they’ll work together to organize some event.

I really dig this story as it had many ingredients I’m looking for in romance:

-great characters. I’ve already gushed on Daisy but I would also have had a crush on Cooper in real life. He may be a hot rocker now I loved seeing his insecurities, his flaws but also his dedication to build a future. He is a good guy to the core and was very considerate with Daisy.

-beautiful backgrounds. I love Montana and the small town nestled into its mountain really did add to my reading pleasure. The town community is filled with great side characters all adding something to the story and creating the warm feeling I got from the book. Reading about people helping each other to save a community and work together always create warm and fuzzy feelings for me;

-interesting plot with the right amount of angst and twists but not too much either;

-second chance romance and friends to lovers story. I love it when they realize they both have feelings for each other even if it takes some persuasion to convince Cooper (but where would be the fun otherwise, right?);

-hot guys rocking the scene (a girl needs some eye candy in her life).

So would I recommend this story? Absolutely!

I just can’t get enough of rock star romances and Erika Kelly really outdid herself with More Than A Feeling. While this book was every bit as sexy and provocative as I’ve come to expect from this author, this was a feel good book about letting go of the past, embracing the new, and admitting that it is okay to let people into your life and not everyone will let you down. Emotional, but not on a curl up in a ball and cry level, this book will make you think back and take a look at the people who influenced your life good or bad and realize that sometimes even the smallest encounter can change your life. I adored these characters and their fast and furious love connection, but more than that I loved the sense of community, the unexpected bonds, and the triumph of good over evil (well, maybe not evil but underhanded for sure). More Than A Feeling was a jam packed story with multiple storylines going on, but never one did the romance get lost in the shuffle something I truly appreciated.

On a two week break during a tour, Cooper Black heads back to his Montana hometown to deal with an issue concerning him mother, what he doesn’t expect is to end up helping the girl he always wanted but knew he wasn’t good enough for, Daisy Charbonneau, or for his father’s identity to be revealed and gain an entire family he isn’t sure he wants.

There was so much I loved about this book including the fact that Cooper and Daisy both had unrequited crushes on one another during high school, that seeing each other ten years later hasn’t changed those feeling, in fact they are only intensified. That Cooper soon realizes that he’s acting very unlike himself where she is concerned and even though Daisy knows she wants the kind of life Cooper can’t give her she plans to take every minute she can get with him. That despite the fact Cooper feels like an outcast and hate the town he feels chewed him up and spit him out, he gets involved in a big project that is near and dear to Daisy’s heart and in doing so he beings to see things in a whole different light. Because of the history they had together, their relationship was intense from the start and the feeling grew for them rapidly even though they didn’t want to admit it.

I loved that they were so comfortable with one another from the start that Cooper didn’t have to hide his past because Daisy knew it all. While music is what brought them together as teens, it would eventually tear them apart as well. I appreciated that these two had some hard choices to make, that compromise was necessary, but that ultimately they both realized they needed each other as much as they needed air.
While Cooper’s band mates make a few cameo appearances for the most part this book was about Cooper and Daisy and the wonderful people who have always been there for Daisy and become just as important in Cooper’s world as well.

I had such a satisfied feeling when I finished this book, like everything was right in the world and that my friends is when I know I’ve read a fantastic story, because no matter what is going on around me or in my life the author can take me out of that and put me in a completely different place. Erika Kelly, you FREAKIN’ ROCK!

A deep second chance romance that was brimming with a gauntlet of raw emotions and vulnerabilities. Erika Kelly does an excellent job luring readers to feel the strum, the beat, and the chorus of this beautiful love story that sings and tugs our hearts.

#MoreThanAFeeling

With her beautiful and heartfelt prose, Erika Kelly allows readers to feel the palpable connection that brews between the heroine and hero as they are reunited. Set in the backdrops of a small town, Cooper and Daisy are thrown into a whirlwind affair where they will discover that this connection is more than a feeling. While this book is the fourth book in the Rock Star Romance Series, it can most definitely be read as a standalone. So if you are looking for a love story that carries a strong family theme and yet intertwines drama, trust, love, music, and new beginnings then this book is definitely for you.

This was all just so AMAZING and I feel blown away!!! Honestly, I can't say enough good things. Emotion, tension, drama, and off the charts chemistry and heat. I felt like my emotions were going to spill over while I was reading and by the end, my heart was bursting. Cooper and Daisy's story was so wonderful and I think it just might be my favorite in the series. That's saying a lot too because I LOVE this series.

Cooper and Daisy were fantastic characters. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them reconnect and learning about their histories. Cooper is so sweet, kind, and caring and so not what people perceive him to be. Daisy was strong and feisty, I loved her spunk. Together they had such amazing interactions. I loved their playfulness and that building heat between the two. They're chemistry sizzled! There are ups and downs, tension an heat, and it was great watching them work through their struggles as they figured everything out.

Everything about this story was pretty perfect for me. The storyline and writing were fantastic. There were so many great details and moments that just filled me up. I was stressed out, I was grinning, I was worried, I was rooting for them, I was teary eyed, my emotions pretty much ran the gamut while reading this. There was excellent character development as well and I enjoyed the build as everything played out. I adore the fact that it was dual POV and I really got to know both of them and feel what they were feeling.

Cooper has always seemed like such a mystery so I love how the author set this story up slightly different from the others in a different location, it seemed to fit perfectly. I love the Blue Fire band and Cooper’s band mates, they’re a great cast of characters. I loved the updates on the guys and where everyone is now with their lives. It makes me want to go back and reread their stories.

If you have not read Erika Kelly before, I highly recommend her. This series is phenomenal! This is the last one and I'm going to miss all the characters but it went out with a bang. 5 I’m-feeling-so-much-stars!

This is the first time I read from author Erika Kelly and I am pleased to find a new author. Third person point of view is not my favorite but surprisingly it was not hard to read. Besides, rock star romance is one of my favorite genres so I enjoyed it all the same. Cooper is a great character. My heart aches for him though – Cooper has a sad childhood with an addictive and manipulative mother who only cares for herself. With Cooper’s talent he was able to skip Snowberry, Montana, seeking a better life for himself. Cooper vows never to look back. Cooper’s only regret was that he left his childhood crush/ love behind. A decade later, Cooper’s mother contacts him with secrets she wants to reveal and Cooper is forced to come home. Daisy manages the annual Huckleberry festival. Unfortunately, the talent she hired for the show just dropped out. Daisy is desperate to fill the spot. Luckily she runs into her old crush Cooper who happens to be a rock star. What will happen when the two childhood crushes work closely together? Can they fight the chemistry they have for each other and what will happen when Cooper’s short visit ends?
This was an interesting plot with a lot of different things that went on around town and Cooper’s secret past etc … the story not only focuses on the romance aspect between Cooper and Daisy but also on the family. There is definitely chemistry, romance and heat going on, especially once the two love birds finally give their relationship a fresh start. Cooper is a star, handsome and Daisy is sweet, sassy and caring. They complement each other well - Daisy helps Cooper let go of the past and find forgiveness and peace. This is a sweet childhood crush turned hot sexy romance. This is the final book of the Rock Star series and can be read as standalone.

I absolutely devoured this series as each book was coming out and fell in love with every member of Blue Fire. When I saw that Erika was writing the last book of the series, I knew I had to get my hands on it. I couldn't wait to watch Cooper fall in love and see my men have their happily ever afters!

Cooper Hood may be the guitarist of a Grammy winning band, but his life was not always on top. Growing up in Snowberry, Cooper was the son of a drug addict and fought just to have food on the table. The only solace he found was in music and Daisy Charbonneau. He knew he wasn't good enough for Daisy, though, and was determined to get out of Snowberry. Now, Blue Fire is in dire need of an opening act and when Cooper is back in his hometown to help build his mom a home of her own, Cooper runs into Daisy and they join forces to help out Snowberry while finding an opening act for Cooper's band. As they work together, old feelings resurface, but Cooper and Daisy both have a life they love and know a relationship could never work…or could it?

Oh, Cooper. I loved learning about Cooper's backstory and watching him feel so insecure and uncomfortable being back in Snowberry. He knows everyone judged him because of his mom and his lack of money when he was growing up and is only reminded of that judgment when he's back in town. What I loved so much, though, was how Cooper slowly realized how people weren't judging him the way he thought they were and how he severely missed some things back then, specifically regarding Daisy. Their second chance at love was so cute and watching them finally act on the feelings they had when they were in high school was just adorable.

On top of the romance, I really enjoyed the whole battle of the bands storyline. Cooper had a purpose being in Snowberry other than dealing with his mom, which allowed him to spend more time with Daisy. Daisy was able to fall even harder for Cooper and question if she really could be with him. While I do think that one person trying to sabotage their competition was a little extreme and only thrown in for some conflict, I enjoyed how well Daisy and Cooper worked together and how passionate they were about their respective careers. Of course, I loved seeing all of the old characters from the series and that ending almost brought happy tears to my eyes.

Overall, this was such a cute conclusion to one of my favorite series. While I didn't get the intensity of the band being on tour, it was fun to see Cooper on his own confronting his past while having a second chance with the girl that got away. If you love this series, you have to pick up the conclusion. If you haven't yet checked out the Rock Star Romance series, you're missing out on some amazing, yummy, and talented men with hearts of gold.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: MORE THAN A FEELING is the fourth and final installment in Erika Kelly’s contemporary, adult ROCK STAR ROMANCE series focusing on the members of the rock band Blue Fire. This is rock star Cooper Hood, and singer/coordinator Daisy Charbonneau’s story line. MORE THAN A FEELING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Daisy and Cooper) MORE THAN A FEELING is a second chance romance between rock star Cooper Hood, and Daisy Charbonneau. Ten years earlier Cooper Hood left his hometown of Snowberry, Montana and never looked back but to think about the girl he left behind. A childhood rocked by a drug addicted mother, never knowing the true identity of his father, Cooper had always felt abandoned, alone and one step behind the rest of his peers except for the life-long friendship between himself and Daisy Charbonneau. An urgent message from his mother brings Cooper Hood back to Snowberry, Montana and into the path of the woman that has always called to his heart. Enter Daisy Charbonneau, a woman on a mission seeking musicians for the town’s annual Huckleberry Festival when their biggest draw pulls out but a woman who loses her heart to a man who’s only in town for a couple of days. What ensues is the rekindling friendship and romance between Daisy and Cooper, and the fall out when issues of trust keep Daisy and Cooper from going after the one that they love.

Daisy and Cooper both have issues of trust. Cooper never knew who was his father, and Daisy’s father was in and out of her life for as long as she could remember. Cooper’s return to Snowberry brings too many bad memories, and it takes everything within him to stay behind to help the woman that he loves. Daisy refuses to acknowledge her love for a man who will never be ready to settle down thus forcing Daisy to push Cooper out of her life when he offers her so much more. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to a cast of great secondary characters including Daisy’s mother Hannah Charbonneau, Snowberry’s mayor Stuart Goff, the Blackstock family including Hunter and Crystal, Remi, Ethan and Nash, Cooper’s mother Ronnie Hood, and several townsfolk as well as the cameo appearances of the members of Blue Fire.

The world building focuses on betrayal and trust; Daisy’s need to rebuild the town in which she grew up; Cooper facing the family he knew nothing about, and his love for a woman who isn’t ready for life on the road.

MORE THAN A FEELING focuses on family and love; betrayal, lies and the truth; finding love and never letting go. The premise is heartbreaking and emotional; the characters are animated and colorful; the romance struggles with a lack of communication, preconceived notions, and the fall out of one woman’s need to remain in the small town in which she grew up.

From beginning to end, Erika Kelly's Rock Star Romance series has been a favorite of mine, and More Than A Feeling keeps that tradition going with a great end to a wonderful series. (Honestly, I'm really pretty sad it's over). Cooper was a favorite of mine from the very beginning and getting to see him step into the limelight for a romance of his own was worth the wait.

I'm a fool for a good second chance romance and Cooper and Daisy have the perfect kind. Friends from High School, they both considered each other the one that got away (or more like the one that they never had a chance with). They have chemistry from the moment they bump into each other again and discover they can both help each other. Cooper is a great character (second in my heart only to Slater). He's a good guy, who had it tough as a kid and never really got past all his baggage. Daisy is a wonderful female lead, strong, determined, empowered and always trying to make things better for the people around her.

Here's the thing, I don't think anybody writes a 3rd person novel better than Erika Kelly, and I ADORE 3rd person, when it's done right. I know so many readers are conditioned to think they won't like it, I promise you...read this book anyway. This story will suck you in, plop you right down in Snowberry and make you believe you live there. The characters are real and multi-layered and supported by a full cast of engaging friends and relatives.

And last but not least, Blue Fire!!! Getting to visit these characters I love one last time is bittersweet. The glimpse Erika gives us in to the lives of my favorite rock band brought tears to my eyes. I know this is the last book in the series (poor Ben) but I sincerely hope this isn't the last we hear from my favorite rockers.

Cooper! Yay! I was so excited to read Cooper's story and it was everything I wanted it to be with all the feels and smoking hot romance. I've been obsessed with Erika Kelly's rock stars since I picked up the her first book. The series features beautiful love stories with hot rock stars. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone but I recommend starting at the beginning because each book features a different band member and Cooper has been in the previous books. Cooper's book, MORE THAN A FEELING, is the fourth and final book in the series and I'm really going to miss the guys. This was a great conclusion though and I loved Cooper and Daisy together! I enjoy second chance romances and this was a great one about returning home and reconnecting with a high school crush. I highly recommend the entire Rock Star Romance series. It's one of my favorite series and Erika Kelly is on my must read author list because she always delivers a great romance book that leaves me smiling and satisfied.  I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. Whatever she decides to write, I'll be reading.

Ms Kelly's 4th book in this series can be read as a standalone, (see side note below review)
Cooper Hood was born to a drug addict mother & abusive father and never fit into the Wyoming landscape so he looked to music to leave it all behind but never forgot Daisy. At 28 he is now the lead Guitarist for the Grammy winning rock band Blue Fire, after receiving a cryptic phone call he has to go back to the one place he swore he would never return to.
This story is more sweet than spice, Cooper and Daisy reconnect, secrets are revealed and in the end proves that you can go home again. I really liked Daisy, she's no nonsense, not afraid to go after what/who she wants and is not intimidated by Cooper's fame. Cooper is the anti-rockstar although he keeps up appearances not to lose his rocker-card but deep down he's a very lonely man who still feels unworthy of anything good. The ending was cheer worthy.

Side Note: I read the first and last book in this series as they were priced in the normal range for Kindle books $2.99 & $3.99 - However the second and third books in this same series were $5.99 & $7.99. I am by no means thrifty when it comes to books as I have bought thousands (yes thousands) over the years but can't for the life of me figure out why there is such a monumental difference in pricing of this series. I enjoyed the first and last and don't feel like I missed out by not getting the others. Would have I liked to have read the entire series? Sure but I can't help feeling manipulated by this and choose not to partake.

4.5 stars This was my first read in the Rock Star Romance series. I didn’t find any issue following the storyline. The book works as a stand alone. More Than A Feeling is the poignant story of two people who've gone their separate ways but have a new chance at love. It’s a twist on a second chance (really first chance) romance of two people who had the hots for each other in high school but never made it happen. Now years later our hero, Cooper Hood, has survived a hellacious childhood as the son of an addict mother and an absent father through determination. He made it to become a famous alt rock star who must return to his hometown for mysterious info about his father from his dodgy mother and to organize building his mother a new home. Our heroine also comes from a rough childhood but not from an abusive standpoint, more from an absentee father. She’s the epitome of cute or maybe adorable is a better word. Yet, she’s a strong Montana woman.

The book has a slow start, but it gives us time to get to know the characters. The author really sparkles with world building and description of emotion as we get to know these characters. We enjoy the dance of two people who want each other but think they shouldn’t (more from him than her).

If you’re looking for a sweet romantic drama with a satisfying HEA, then this is your read.

I didn't expect this to be my favorite book in the series but it is. Cooper's story drew me in and I felt like I was in the story watching what was going on. I felt so bad for the childhood Cooper had to endure. His mother was a drug addict who completely neglected him and also never told him who his real father is. She finally decides to tell him so he is forced to return home. He ends up staying a lot longer then he planned. I really liked Daisy and thought her and Cooper made a perfect couple. Her extremely firm standing on never leaving Snowberry for anything did get on my nerves because it was clear how she felt about Cooper. I wasn't sure how it was all going to work out but of course it did. The last chapter is an epilogue 3 years later and includes all the band members. I loved it.
I am disappointed Ben will not get his own book. His HEA with a wife and kids is inferred in the epilogue but not mentioned specifically. It left me feeling like I am missing out on something.

If the book had been shorter I might have liked it more. If Cooper had been a better character I might have liked more the book. But more on Cooper later. I liked Daisy. She is a bright person and I didn't like seeing Cooper stealing her light when he was hurting her. She stood up for herself, unlike Lia. Wanna bet she and boyfriend will break up and have a book happening in a number of years from now. I am kind of sad for her. Cooper wasn't able to convince me that he was worthy to be called book boyfriend. The book was mostly a disappointment. I was expecting more and the book didn't deliver. I won't be recommending the book.

Just didn’t get into this last one in the series.
Made a personal mistake as well, at the end of the 2nd book a free short story was offered to see what happens to one of the band members. Don’t read it! It ruined the next two books for me. 😒

I hate that this one didn’t grab me like the first few. And now that I think about it, I realize the same problem crept up in this book as the last one. Character (s) creates a problem but the author doesn’t really follow thru. Missed opportunities.

I did like the book for the most part just really wish I didn’t read that novella until now. 💩

More Than a Feeling is the fourth book in ‘the Rock Star Romance Series’ by Erika Kelly, and tells the story of the remaining bachelor of Blue Fire, Cooper. Cooper and Daisy have been friends throughout high school, and this is the story how they become much more than just friends…
“My heart. My heart’s on the line. I’ve never given it to anybody before. Because it’s yours.”

Daisy is born and raised in Snowberry, and she loves her little town. She and her mother are close, but growing up with a father ‘suffering’ from wanderlust was hard. Yes, her dad loves her, but he always put his own interest first, not thinking about the woman who loved him and his daughter. As a result, Daisy is a bit afraid for intimacy; she’s scared people will leave her behind. Seeing her high school friend and secret crush Cooper confuses her, she still loves the guy, but she knows he won’t stay.
“She smiled at him, wanting to share the moment, but the look in his eyes—the longing—only reignited that damn spark. She pulled her hand back. She had to stop touching him.”

Growing up as the son of the town druggie/hooker has left its marks on Cooper. All he can remember from his childhood is the neglect his mother put him through, and how the people in town treated him. His friend Daisy was one of the few good things in his life, but he always thought she was too good for him, so he never made a move on her. Rock music got him out of Snowberry, and he never looked back. When he gets a message from his mother and returns for the first time in a decade, of course Cooper rans into Daisy. And this time, he can’t stay away.
“When she reached him, she looked radiant, expectant. And he knew she wanted him to hug her. She seemed to hold herself back, waiting for him to make the move. And if he were a different kind of man he would.”

Through the high school’s music program Daisy and Cooper became friends. They both loved music and Daisy saw Cooper for what he really was; a sweet guy who was so much more than what he believed himself. But while hooking up with other girls in school, Cooper kept Daisy in the friendzone, believing he didn’t deserve a girl like her. Daisy and Cooper are both adults now and finally decide to give into the feelings they have had for each other for so long. They belong together, but before they have a shot at something real, both have to deal with their past.

Both Daisy and Cooper have been hurt growing up. Daisy by her father who never kept the promises he made, and Cooper by the actions and disinterest of his mother. More Than a Feeling tells the story of Cooper and Daisy becoming a couple, but also how they come to terms with their past. Especially Cooper is in for the ‘surprise’ of a lifetime, learning his childhood could have been so much different is a hard message to swallow. I love Daisy and Cooper, but sometimes I wanted to shake some sense into Cooper. Come on, you are a well-known Rockstar, you have good friends who are like family; of course you ‘deserve’ Daisy…
“I want to kiss your heart and make the pain go away. I want to crack you open and let all the ugly fly out and then close you back up with my mouth, kissing you until you’re healed and whole.”

I’ve enjoyed reading More Than a Feeling, I give Daisy, Cooper and their story 4 stars.

Original review: A Novel Glimpse

Note: I received an ARC from InkSlinger PR in exchange for an unbiased review.

If you like rock star romances, you really need to read Erika Kelly's Rock Star Romance series. I've been a fan of her writing ever since I read the first book, You Really Got Me. I fell in love with the band members of Blue Fire, and have enjoyed watching each of them fall in love throughout the series. Each in the series was better than the last, and that's saying a lot because they were all adorably fun reads.

In More Than a Feeling, the fourth and final book, Blue Fire’s Cooper Hood is forced to return to the small Montana home town of his youth. Cooper hasn't set foot there since he left home all those years ago. There's nothing but bad memories there for him. The only reason he's come back is the promise of a secret his mom wants to reveal to him.

When Cooper arrives, he realizes there was one bright spot in his youth: Daisy Charbonneau. Daisy is just as beautiful and nice as she was when Cooper was a kid. When he learns she needs help finding a musician to head the local Huckleberry Festival, Cooper can't stop himself from volunteering to help her find one. Working with Daisy only reminds Cooper of the giant crush he had on her as a teenager. And it seems Cooper wasn't the only one with a secret crush. As Daisy and Cooper work together, their relationship heats up. The only problem is Cooper doesn't plan on staying in Montana and Daisy never plans to leave it.

More Than a Feeling was such a fun second chance romance. Like most contemporary romances, It was written in third person dual points of view. This isn't always my favorite style of narration, but Erika Kelly knows how to make it work and work well. Each character had their own voice and personality. Even though it wasn't written in first person, I felt like I was in the characters' heads.

Cooper and Daisy were soul mates. They saw through each other and knew what the other needed. I loved how returning to town and reconnecting with Daisy had Cooper re-examining his childhood experiences and learning new things about himself. It wasn't just Cooper that had some examining to do, though. Cooper helped Daisy realize some thing about herself, too. I loved how the give and take truly balanced out in this book.

Another thing I really loved was how the characters treated each other. There was so much respect and care between them. Daisy and Cooper were so cute together. Well, when they weren't burning up the sheets. Then, they were more than just cute. They were hot!

If you’re looking for a great contemporary rock star romance, you should pick up More Than a Feeling or any of Erika Kelly’s other books in her Rock Star Romance series. They’re all super sexy and fun. I highly recommend them.

This was my first Erika Kelly book and I can already tell you I will continue to read her stuff! I read this book as a standalone but it part of the Rockstar Romance series. It was fun, insanely hot, and filled with Cowboys and Rockers (can't go wrong with that combo)!

Cooper is the lead singer of Blue Fire. He was a pure, raw true talented musician. His past is something he is not extremely proud of and he made sure he got out of the town he grew up in. He screams all alpha, bad boy.

Daisy is in charge of the day to day of the Blackstock ranch. She loves the town she grew up in, just about as much as her passion for making dreams come true. She always loved to sing, but life had a funny way of working out for her.

Cooper is on tour and gets a call to return home because his mom needs him. When he gets back to Snowberry, he remembers why he left. The town painted him as something he wasn't. He runs into Daisy and all their old memories come crashing down on him. Daisy is beside herself when she sees him. She remembers the crush she always had on the boy in the music program. They instantly reconnect and help each other with problems that arisen from them. For Cooper it's his mom and finding an opening band and for Daisy it's raising the money to expand the ranch to a resort by throwing a huge music festival.

Can Daisy save Blackstock Retreat? Does Cooper stick around after he finds his opening act? Will the things life throws at them push them apart rather than closer?

I couldn't put this book down! I had to know where Erika was going to take Daisy and Cooper. I have already started reading the first book in the series to see what I missed in this amazing series!

More Than a Feeling portrays someone who goes from being a pauper to a famous rock star.

Cooper's childhood is far from being normal. His determination drove him to make something of himself by leaving his hometown, never to return. He is now the lead guitarist of a prominent band.

Daisy is working in partnership with some of the locals to raise funds for a resort which would benefit the community. The preparations are going well until one of the participants lets her down.

Despite his vow to never return to his hometown, Cooper returns after a phone call for some urgent news that her mother is about to disclose. He is on break from a tour and intends to stay for just a couple of days. He bumps into Daisy who was in his music class and now that they both have a problem, they start to work together. This will be beneficial to both of them.

Cooper has been crushing on Daisy for as long as he can remember but his way of life at the time made her off limits. To his surprise, he discovers that she has been carrying the same crush. There has always been this connection between them but a long term relationship won't work as neither of them will leave their current situation.

When Cooper's mother gives him the news, he is surprised and has so many mix feelings that he is at a loss. Daisy proves to be a tower of strength. She has her own problems but makes time to help everyone in need. During their time together, their feelings get stronger but can they indulge as they both know that it can only last for so long?

This novel is very deep. There is one surprise after another. The love and heartaches are palpable. Cooper is a loving and lovable character, proving that the past can be overcome. Daisy is strong and determined. She has a knack of putting things in perspective for the benefit of others. Family values are very much in the fore front. It's an emotive love story which I will quite happily read again.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

Absolutely love it! I finished this book last night but I'm still smiling this morning. It is that good! Cooper Hood had a horrific childhood with his drug addicted mother and her selfish, whorish ways. But through determination and hard work Cooper became a successful rock star. Now all those narrow-minded, judgmental people in Snowberry all want to get up-close and personal with his fame and fortune. But he's not falling for it especially from his "new-found family", the Blackstocks. And then there's Daisy, the girl who always treated him with fondness and respect back in the day. Should they try a long-distance relationship or just keep their distance?

How have I not read anything from this author before. Kelly writes a book full of fun characters that you can't help but love!

More than a feeling has everything I love in a book. A sexy rockstar come home after years of avoiding his past, and a second chance romance I couldn't get enough of.

I fell in love with all of these characters and can't wait to go back and read the other books in this series.

MORE THAN A Feeling

Absolutely loved this story. Comes home after years of being gone, only to find out who his father really is. He could have had a totally different life, not have been treated like an outsider. Join in this amazing story about find themselves, gaining a family, second chances, and loving yourself.

We get a little different twist in this story with Cooper having to go back home. His sizzling chemistry with Daisy had me unable to put it down and the suspense from his childhood and hers had me hooked and on edge.

More Than a Feeling concludes Erika Kelly’s bestselling Rock Star series and does so with my new favorite Blue Fire band member, Cooper Hood. Kelly was clearly holding him close to her heart, saving the best for last. Cooper felt like background in the three earlier books, especially in the shadow of Slater Vaughn and Derek Valencia. He emerges from his hiding spot in More Than a Feeling, twisting my heart and making me fall in love with him.

I love Kelly’s characters and have since the beginning of this series. Right from the start I couldn’t get enough of the members of Blue Fire and their soul mates. Early in the series I compared Kelly’s writing to that of Kristen Ashley with her ability to create a cast of characters that felt like family and had you reaching for the next book so you could spend more time with them. In MTaF there are a lot of new characters, but Kelly brings them to life with as much vitality as she did her previous characters.

Cooper returns to his hometown, a place he hasn’t been in 10 years. The only good memories he has there surround the music program at his high school, which basically saved his life, and the friendship of Daisy Charbonneau, a girl he loved but he felt was too good for him. As the only son of the town’s infamous drug addict, Cooper was neglected his entire childhood. He raised himself in a falling down cabin in Snowberry, Montana as his mother only had the energy to deal with herself. With a music scholarship in hand he left Montana, swearing to never return. That is, until he gets a call indicating that his mother is finally going to reveal who his father is.

Daisy is the town princess and rightfully so. Honestly, it would’ve been easy to dislike her because she’s just that nice. Daisy loves Snowberry, and has dedicated her life to making this picturesque town a place that people want to live in, not leave. I fell in love with her sweetness, honesty, and passion. Daisy has never forgotten Cooper and when he returns just as Daisy learns the annual Huckleberry Festival is in jeopardy, she grabs at the chance for them to work together.

Daisy is the perfect woman for the insecure, emotionally shuttered Cooper. Cooper has one goal: find out who is dad is while helping his mom and get out-of-town. As far as he’s concerned, there’s nothing in Snowberry for him. He wants to finally know who is father is and get back to his Blue Fire family. When the revelation sends him into a tailspin, it's Daisy that helps him hold on. She’s perfect foil for the bitterness that he holds close to his heart. I loved their moments together as she quietly challenged things he’d believed his entire life. Their honesty with each other was refreshing and real, including how much they wanted each other. So, yes, Daisy and Cooper are a sweet, passionate couple that I have no trouble believing belong together. I loved their romance.

So, why 3 stars instead of 5? There are big parts of the book that I struggled with.

-The people of Snowberry are not folks I’d want to give my time to. They’re great to each other, don’t get me wrong. But, except for the music program director, there wasn’t a single adult that did anything substantial for Cooper while he was growing up. I found their lack of concern for Cooper as neglectful as his mother's and unrealistic. This is such an important part of the plot and it felt forced.
-I missed Blue Fire. I loved the brotherhood of the band members. The chemistry between the characters as each H/h fell in love amidst the music industry made reading the Rock Star series so much fun! While I absolutely fell in love with the Blackstock family (these guys need their own series!!), I felt like Cooper was left hanging. Perhaps this is intentional, to reflect his upbringing, but it left this last book in the series with a much different feeling than the rest.
-It also really bugged me that Cooper’s drug use in the previous books was overlooked. He did drugs, but it’s never mentioned and I thought it a pretty big deal now that we know his history. The fact that he doesn’t even reflect upon it is feels dishonest. A scene or two between him and Daisy talking about this would’ve put my unease at rest while strengthening their relationship.
At the end of the day the Rock Star series is still one of my favorites and one that I'll reread over and over.

3 Stars for More Than a Feeling. Heat level: 3.5

I received this book from the author in exchange for honest feedback.

I wish this series did not end here!! Although I look forward to more releases by this author. I am so happy to have finally been able to finish this series by Erika Kelly. I absolutely was captivated by Cooper and Daisy's romance. My ultimate favorite book in the rocker series was this first with Slater and Emmie however, this one is a close rival if not equal. I could not put it down.
